"Daddy, it's my fault," Miles Gu rushed to take responsibility. "I thought Sherry Yuan was acting strangely, and I was afraid she might hurt our family, so I wanted to test her! It was my idea! Ethan had nothing to do with it!"
"That's not true! I was the one who came up with the idea! Daddy, Mommy, it's my fault!" Ethan Yin quickly admitted his mistake. "I thought she was a little liar who came here just to trick you, so I..."
Cecilia Gu glared at them fiercely. "I'll deal with you two later! Someone, get a doctor! How could this child be so harsh with herself!"
Amid the chaos, Sherry Yuan finally regained consciousness.
The moment Sherry Yuan opened her eyes and saw Cecilia Gu, she got so worked up that she scrambled off the bed and knelt before Cecilia. "Madam, please, don't let them take me back! If I get taken back, I'm as good as dead!"
Seeing the girl so terrified, Cecilia Gu's heart ached.
Cecilia Gu immediately hugged Sherry Yuan. "Silly child, don't worry, no one will ever take you back again! I promise you, I'll keep my word! It's my fault—I thought hiding your situation was the best way to protect you. I never expected my two troublemakers, knowing nothing, would randomly test you and hurt you again!"
While Sherry Yuan was unconscious, Cecilia Gu called Miles Gu and Ethan Yin over and, after carefully asking about what happened, immediately regretted not telling them about Sherry sooner.
If only she'd told them earlier, maybe none of this would've happened!
Furious, Cecilia Gu didn't hesitate to hand the two kids over to Charles Yin for punishment!
If you do something wrong, you have to face the consequences!
Sherry Yuan lowered her head and stayed silent.
Cecilia Gu sighed and said, "Those two little troublemakers have already been taken by their father to be punished. I'll have them apologize to you later."
Sherry Yuan shook her head vigorously, almost like a big white puppy. "That's not necessary. You've already been good enough to me."
Looking at how little Sherry Yuan asked for, Cecilia Gu felt her heart ache all over again.
After soothing Sherry Yuan, Cecilia Gu stormed off to find the two troublemakers who caused all this.
As soon as she stepped onto the playground, she saw two mud-covered monkeys hauling ten kilograms of weights, running laps around the track.
Charles Yin stood by coldly, supervising. "If you don't finish ten laps today, no food for the next three days!"
Miles Gu and Ethan Yin cried as they carried their weights and recited their written confessions: "We know we were wrong! We shouldn't have bullied a girl, we shouldn't have doubted Mom and Dad's decisions..."
Watching the two mud monkeys getting punished, Cecilia Gu couldn't bring herself to say anything else.
Sigh, these troublesome kids!
They're already this mischievous now—what about in the future??
Time flew by, and a week passed.
The wound on Sherry Yuan's wrist finally scabbed over and healed.
Knock, knock, knock—someone was knocking on the door outside.
The next second, the door opened and Ethan Yin and Miles Gu poked their little heads in from outside.
As soon as the two saw Sherry Yuan, they called out in unison, "Sister Sherry, we're here to admit our mistake! Please forgive us!"
Sherry Yuan froze for a second, then realized that the prank had been their doing.
Sherry Yuan wanted to be angry, but she knew full well she didn't really have the right to be.
So young, and she already understood how the world worked.
She was rescued by Charles Yin and Cecilia Gu, living in their home, eating their food, using their things, and would have to rely on them for her future.
What right did she have to be dramatic?
Sherry Yuan was silent for a moment before finally saying, "Okay."
Ethan Yin and Miles Gu both let out a long sigh of relief, carefully smiling as they came in and held out their gifts to Sherry Yuan. "We promise it won't happen again! We were just worried you might have bad intentions, so we came up with this way to test you!"
Miles Gu nudged Ethan Yin with his elbow, and Ethan quickly added, "After all, my dad is so handsome, and my mom is just too kindhearted. Sister Sherry, you don't know—my mom nearly got killed once because she was too nice. She barely escaped, but her body and memory were hurt, and she was separated from my dad for years before they found each other again. We're just scared! Sister Sherry, with a silly, sweet, softhearted mom like mine, I'm honestly helpless!"
Sherry Yuan held her breath, and the little bit of anger in her heart slowly faded with Ethan Yin's words.
Alright, since they were just trying to protect their mom, she decided not to be angry.
After all, she wouldn't be here much longer anyway.
In less than a week, she'd be heading to the South Pacific.
The South Pacific trip had become something all the kids were looking forward to.
So, as the date approached, Miles Gu, Ethan Yin, and Yina Yin all packed their little suitcases, ready to go.
But the day before, Cecilia Gu announced that only Sherry Yuan could go—no one else was allowed.
Ethan Yin and Miles Gu had to go to school, and Yina Yin had to stay home and learn new skills!
The three kids were totally devastated!
So, when Rona Muir—who was annoyed with Jiro Hirayama—showed up, the three kids clung to her leg, whining, "Godmother! Save us!"
Rona Muir laughed, "Oh? You three got into trouble again, huh? Tell me, what did you do this time that has you begging for help?"
Miles Gu and Ethan Yin squirmed awkwardly and didn't dare say a word.
Now that they'd grown up a bit, this kind of thing was their dark history! No way they'd ever tell!
But Yina Yin didn't care—she immediately ratted out her two older brothers: "Godmother, they secretly scared Sister Sherry, and almost made her try to kill herself! So, Daddy and Mommy are punishing them... mmph mmph mmph..."
Yina Yin's mouth was immediately covered by Ethan Yin!
What a troublesome little sister!
She's family—can't hit her!
Rona Muir immediately understood and burst out laughing. "You kids really are something... Alright, alright, if you really want to go, then go! I'll talk to Cici about it. With so many bodyguards around, what could possibly go wrong?"

"Yay!" The three kids cheered at once. "Godmother's the best! Love you, love you, heart gesture!"
No one knows what Rona Muir said to Cecilia Gu, but in the end, Cecilia really agreed to take the three troublesome kids along.
She probably worried that if she left them at home, they'd just cause trouble.
At least if she brought them along, she could keep an eye on them!
So, the group showed up at the port right on time, boarded their family's yacht, and got ready to set sail.
Just as they were about to clear the deck, someone rushed over from afar, shouting, "Wait!"
Rona Muir glanced back and saw Jiro Hirayama rushing over, dragging a huge suitcase behind him.
Rona’s face changed instantly. "Quick, quick, quick! Pull up the gangway! Don’t let him catch up!"
At Rona’s shout, everyone turned to look.
But Jiro Hirayama was already calmly stepping onto the deck. No one dared to chase him off.
Who would dare?
Who is that guy?
That’s Jiro Hirayama!
He’s a biochemical expert!
He could wipe out a whole crowd with just a flick of his finger!
Besides, who doesn’t know about Jiro and Rona’s relationship? Who doesn’t know Jiro gave up his own nationality for her and became a citizen of China? Who doesn’t know about Jiro’s ties to our boss and his wife?
So, the workers could only watch as Jiro Hirayama strolled onto the ship.
"Godfather!" Ethan Yin, Mia Gu, and Yina Yin—three kids who loved a little chaos—shouted out, "We’re over here!"
Jiro Hirayama finally broke into a smile, waving to the three kids. Then he turned to Rona and said, "Last time you almost died in the South Pacific, and you still dare to go alone this time? Look, I packed you a whole suitcase of medicine. If you run into trouble, just smash one—no matter how fierce those sea creatures are, they’ll drop instantly…"
Standing off to the side, Cecilia Gu and Charles Yin, who’d just been relieved that Jiro finally seemed to understand how to comfort his wife, could only stare speechlessly.
Well, clearly they’d read too much into it!
Even if a teenage nerd grows into a middle-aged nerd, he’s still a nerd at heart!
Nerds always focus on the weirdest things!
A vein was about to pop on Rona’s forehead.
She’d been mad for days!
And that idiot Jiro still hadn’t noticed!
She was at her wit’s end!
Just as Rona was about to toss Jiro’s suitcase overboard, Charles Yin spoke up: "Jiro, since you’re here, why don’t you come with us? It’s just a month, and we’ll be back in no time! After all these years, you haven’t really taken a proper trip. Those experiments aren’t urgent, and as long as they’re not too dangerous, you can work on them aboard the ship!"
Jiro Hirayama thought it over seriously, glanced at the four kids in the distance, and nodded solemnly. "Alright."
The kids, hearing that their godfather was coming along, cheered enthusiastically.
Jiro, who was usually so serious, finally cracked a smile.
And just like that, Jiro Hirayama joined the trip to the South Pacific.
Since the ship belonged to Charles Yin, Rona couldn’t really object. She huffed and stomped off toward the cabin.
For once, Jiro’s emotional IQ was on point. He hurried after Rona. "Nana, wait for me!"
"Who wants to wait for you? Go find your own room!" Rona snapped, glaring at him. "Don’t mess with me!"
"I’m not messing with you, I just want you to wait for me!" Jiro looked at her in surprise. "We’re married, of course we’ll share a room. Why should I go to another one?"
Rona: "..." Right now, she seriously wanted to punch someone.
Rona spun around and kept walking.
"Nana..."
"Go away!"
"Not going!"
"Go away!"
"Why?"
"Go away!"
...
Cecilia Gu watched the two bicker their way into the cabin, then turned to Charles Yin with a helpless smile. "You told him, didn’t you?"
Charles Yin wrapped his arm around Cecilia’s waist and whispered in her ear, "Isn’t this what you said? Fight at the head of the bed, make up at the foot? I’m just following my wife’s orders to the letter!"
