"There's a general store in the east of the city," Evan Xiao said. "It's one of Tuoba Hong's secret contact points. Go there and deliver a message for me."

"What message?"

When she arrived, Evan Xiao was in the Cold Moon Pavilion, lounging on a recliner, holding a plump, tempting cherry.

She thought something was off with him tonight.

"Want some?" Evan Xiao raised the cherry in his hand.

"Yeah."

"Come get it."

Grace walked over to take it.

But he didn’t hand it to her.

"Give it to me?" Grace reached out.

"If you want it, come get it yourself."

Grace finally got the hint, blinked her big eyes, and plopped herself right onto his lap. "How am I supposed to get it?" she asked.

"What do you think?"

Grace leaned in, kissed him, and snatched the cherry away in the process.

Evan Xiao grinned, wrapped his arms around her, and watched her eat the cherry, bite by bite.

And then, he devoured her.

Late at night, Evan Xiao led Grace into the secret underground passage beneath the General’s Manor.

A group of masked, black-clad figures carried crates in and set them down before them.

Sophie Shang arrived, her gaze turning cold when she saw Grace there.

"Take a look," Evan Xiao said, pointing at the crates for Grace.

Grace stepped forward and opened a crate of Earth Spirit Jade.
