Tom Chu’s Illusion Realm

1/19/2026

Just as Harold Hong reached for the dagger, the old woman dodged with a sudden flash—and in that instant, the dagger pierced straight into her heart.

She went motionless in the blink of an eye. Seeing this, Evan Chu burst out laughing: "Tom Chu, that death was way too quick! No way Harold Hong will fall for it. Who just drops dead in one shot?"

"Relax, Big Brother. That guy's drowning in grief and guilt—he's not thinking straight at all. He's about to go crazy, just you watch," Tom Chu said.

Harold Hong saw his mother die too—both the people closest to him gone right before his eyes. The shock nearly drove him insane. Even though he was always calm and steady, he couldn’t hold back his grief now. He jumped to his feet and howled at the sky: "Evan Chu, you turtle bastard, get out here! I’m going to kill you!"

His rage was boiling over with nowhere to vent. Harold Hong coughed up a mouthful of blood from sheer fury, his whole body tottering and about to collapse—obviously his mind had taken a massive blow from the shock and anger.

"Tom Chu, your illusions are scary good. He’s suffering so much right now—maybe we should just finish him off. You want to kill him, or should I do it?" Evan Chu asked.

"Big Brother, you handle the killing. I’m just a kid—having me do the killing isn’t right!" Tom Chu said.

The light screen in front of Evan Chu vanished, and Harold Hong appeared before him. His eyes were bloodshot, his facial muscles twitching, looking utterly savage. Seeing Evan Chu, he couldn’t hold back his hatred anymore—his longsword slashed straight for him.

"Courting death!" Evan Chu spat out coldly, dodging Harold Hong’s sword with a flicker. In that instant, he unleashed Thundershift—a thumb-thick arc of violet lightning crashed down from the sky, blasting Harold Hong dead-on.

The blast knocked Harold Hong flat, kicking up sand and leaving a giant pit. His whole body looked like it had been dipped in ink—pitch black, clothes shredded, and white smoke still curling up from him.

After unleashing his Thundershift attack, Evan Chu felt a bit disappointed. Right now, Thundershift could probably only kill Saint Martial Realm cultivators; against Venerable Realm experts, it just wasn’t enough. It wasn’t even as strong as Windshift. Must be a problem with his current power level.

Harold Hong’s whole body was wracked with pain, numb and unable to move. He stared at Evan Chu, wanting to speak but powerless. Evan just grinned: "Time to send you off. You killed your own father and mother—death is far too kind for you." Then he unleashed Windshift, summoning a barrage of razor-sharp wind blades that surrounded Harold. After a single agonized scream, Harold’s body was shredded to pieces—dead beyond dead.

With Harold Hong dead, it was the Poison King’s turn. Evan Chu laughed: "Tom Chu, should we spice things up for the Poison King? Let him die drowning in guilt?"

"I say forget it. Just kill him quick. Aren’t you worried about Lillian Zhang’s safety? She’s strong, but she’s facing a whole crowd. If she burns through too much energy, it could get dangerous," Tom Chu said.

Evan Chu agreed—Tom Chu had a point. Lillian Zhang was powerful, but the people she was up against were all Venerable Realm experts. Even if they took turns attacking, they’d wear her down. He still needed her help to get into the Death-Tower Grounds.

"Bring the Poison King over here. Let me kill him myself—no need to drag this out," Evan Chu said.

Jade Chu laughed: "Big Brother, the Poison King is right in front of you! If you want to kill him, go ahead—see for yourself."

Evan Chu looked and saw the Poison King standing right there. He wasn’t running anymore—just nervously scanning the surroundings, as if someone might jump out at any moment. Of course, that someone was Evan Chu, hunting him down.

"Tom Chu, he can’t see me at all. What’s going on? Did you block his vision?" Evan Chu asked.

"You sure talk a lot, Big Brother! Half a stick of incense is almost up. Are you planning to kill him or not? Still dawdling around—so frustrating!" Tom Chu said urgently.

Evan Chu was startled—he hadn’t realized how fast time was passing. With a thought, he unleashed Chaos Dragon Force inside his body, then fired off Star-Cleave at a speed too fast for the eye to follow, aiming straight at the Poison King.

The Poison King was already on high alert. Suddenly, he heard a tearing sound behind him and tried to dodge to the side, but Evan Chu’s speed was too much. It was a surprise attack, and even though the Poison King had Fifth-Layer Venerable Realm strength, he couldn’t avoid it.

The power of Star-Cleave was monstrous. Fused with five elements and thunder, the slash blasted the Poison King hundreds of meters away—a rain of blood showered down from the sky. Whether he was dead or alive, only the aftermath would tell.

Evan Chu was very satisfied with that strike. In a flash, he appeared before the Poison King—who still couldn’t see him. That was the true terror of Tom Chu’s illusion arts.

After a glance, Evan Chu saw the Poison King had taken a heavy hit—his back was a mess of torn flesh, white bone exposed, and the thunder force had left him completely paralyzed.

Wanting to end the fight quickly, Evan Chu swung his sword again. Even a casual strike would be enough to finish the Poison King in his current state.

The sharp Frostbane Sword pierced right through his heart. The unlucky Poison King died without ever seeing Evan Chu’s face—only he knew the frustration and unwillingness he felt at the end.

This was probably the easiest kill Evan Chu had ever made—the guy was a Fifth-Layer Venerable, but compared to fighting the Ghost King or Beast King, it was night and day.

Just as Evan Chu was about to leave, Luna—the sword spirit—spoke up: "Aren’t you going to take his storage ring?"

"His ring’s just full of poison—what use is that to me? I’ll pass," Evan Chu said dismissively.

"Idiot! Those poisons are valuable even in the Immortal Realm, and you want to treat them as junk? You’re killing me here," Luna retorted, exasperated.

Evan Chu hurriedly took the Poison King’s storage ring, then used Fireshift to burn the corpse. In a flash, he returned to Lillian Zhang and the others.

Seeing everyone standing behind Lillian Zhang, Evan Chu was a bit shocked. "You really pulled it off?"
