Someone Really Came

"Alright." Grace watched him go inside before finally relaxing.

Just as she breathed a sigh of relief, Evan Xiao's voice suddenly sounded behind her: "What did you predict this time? Is your big brother about to face an Omen of Blood?"

Grace turned to look at him, giggled foolishly, and said, "Heaven's secrets can't be revealed."

"Is that so?" Evan Xiao walked over, wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her close to his chest.

"Hey! Hey! Be careful, someone might see us!" Grace nervously glanced around.

"Your father is already planning to give you to me as a concubine, what are you afraid of?" In reality, Evan Xiao was alert and aware of everything around them, fully in control of the situation.

"If someone sees us, it'll ruin my parents' reputation!" Grace said righteously.

But Evan Xiao didn't care. He cupped her face and kissed her deeply, as if starved for her.

Grace was torn between sinking into his embrace and struggling to resist, feeling utterly conflicted.

Sensing her turmoil, Evan Xiao rasped, "Relax. If anyone comes, I'll notice. Let me kiss you properly."

So Grace really let herself go, completely losing herself in his embrace...

Just as she was oblivious to everything around her, Evan Xiao suddenly let go and whispered in her ear, "Someone really is coming."

Then, he darted behind the flowers and trees to hide.

Grace was still a bit dizzy, hazily glancing at the path, but didn't see anyone.

Suddenly, "Roar!" A low growl echoed.

Grace looked up and saw a Spotted Leopard Spirit Beast perched in a nearby tree!

The Spotted Leopard was a vicious spirit beast—anything above Tier Three was as tall as a person, with shocking speed and attack power.

It leapt down from the tree, eyes gleaming fiercely, and strode straight toward Grace.

Its aura, its size, its cultivation—none of it was low.

Grace thought for a moment and instantly understood.

This Spotted Leopard must be the one her father helped Queenie Zhu bring in.

Didn't Queenie Zhu just say she was going to show it off to Jenny Zhu and the others?

Where are they?

Speak of the devil—Queenie Zhu, Jenny Zhu, and four or five others appeared on the side path.

"Grace Zhu!" Queenie Zhu called out with a smile. "Are you scared?"

Grace shot them a sideways glance. "So many people at the house today, and you bring such a huge leopard over here—what for?"

"To show the sisters, of course!" Queenie Zhu said. "Aren't you all curious to see it?"

"Of course!" Jenny Zhu answered. "It's such a mighty spirit beast!"

"Well, you all enjoy. I'm heading back!" Grace turned to leave.

"Roar!" The Spotted Leopard Spirit Beast sprang nimbly, blocking Grace's way.

"Queenie Zhu, what are you up to?" Grace raised an eyebrow. "Don't tell me you want your spirit pet to eat me?"

"Of course I don't think that," Queenie Zhu replied with a wicked grin. "But... this Spotted Leopard isn't fully tamed yet! If it accidentally hurts you, or even eats you, I can't do anything about it!"

"So?"

"Give me that Blessing Pouch you just got!" Queenie Zhu demanded, her face full of arrogance. "If you do, maybe I'll try my best to hold it back. How about that?"

Grace shot her a look. "If you've got the guts, let it bite me! If I even blink, I'm not Grace Zhu!"

"Ha! You, a weakling who can't even catch a chicken, acting all heroic?" Queenie Zhu mocked. "What are you doing with the General's Blessing Pouch anyway? Don't tell me you think the General actually likes you?"
