Who Exactly Are You

1/19/2026

Evan Chu thought for a moment and finally decided to leave this place as quickly as possible. That youth was at the God-Emperor Realm—definitely an outstanding talent among the Ten Great Powers, most likely from the Qin Tian Sword Sect, since from the very beginning he had never mentioned anything about Immortal Tokens.

If he stayed put, the Lifebane Cursebug would definitely find him, and then the youth would discover him as well. There was no need to fight head-on right now—everything could wait until the Fire Dragon returned.

With this in mind, Evan Chu moved quickly and darted off to the side. Just then, the youth opened the black box in his hand—a streak of golden light flashed out from within and shot toward Evan's direction at meteoric speed.

"Haha! Kid, you really are something. You were actually hiding inside my Space Domain! To resist a God-Emperor’s Space Domain with just God-Lord cultivation—you’re the first I’ve ever seen. Too bad that such a heaven-defying talent has to die by my hand today. What a pity!" the youth said excitedly.

Evan Chu saw the golden light instantly reach his body and then disappear. He knew it had entered him, but instead of being afraid, he actually felt pleased.

After all, his dragon blood was the natural nemesis of that youth's Lifebane Cursebug. It probably wouldn’t even get the chance to release its Gu poison before dying off—and the youth had absolutely no idea. He still thought Evan was under the Cursebug’s control.

Evan Chu immediately stopped moving. By his estimate, the Fire Dragon had already been gone for a while. With the Fire Dragon’s abilities, getting five Immortal Tokens would be a breeze. Evan just needed to hold out a bit longer, and the Fire Dragon should be back soon.

At the same time, he could try to learn this youth’s true identity. So Evan Chu revealed himself.

The God-Emperor youth saw Evan Chu reveal himself and immediately laughed, "Kid, why aren’t you running? Weren’t you acting all tough just now? Now you know how terrifying my Lifebane Cursebug is, right? You’d better hand over the goods obediently, maybe I’ll let you die quickly. Otherwise, I’ll let you taste a fate worse than death."

Evan Chu glanced at the youth and said, "I didn’t expect to fall into your hands today. Since that’s the case, I’ll accept my fate. But before I die, I want to know who you really are—why do you only want the auctioned goods and not the Immortal Tokens? If you can let me die with some clarity, maybe I’ll tell you where the goods are hidden. Otherwise, even if I die, you won’t get them."

"You want to know my identity, kid? I don’t think you’re qualified just yet. From the way you talk, it sounds like the goods aren’t on you—who knows if that’s true or not. So I think it’s more important to let you enjoy the wonderful sensation my Lifebane Cursebug brings you.

Maybe then you’ll tell me the truth. Kid, let’s get started!" The God-Emperor youth laughed, and a dark-green flute appeared in his hand. He started playing.

The sound rose and fell, sometimes sharp, sometimes low, but Evan Chu just stood there without moving. The God-Emperor youth kept playing, his face full of suspicion. He couldn’t understand why, after all this time, the Lifebane Cursebug hadn’t reacted at all.

If someone said the Cursebug had been destroyed by this kid, he wouldn’t believe it even if he was beaten to death. In the whole world, only Golden Dragon blood could restrain the Cursebug. Plus, after thousands of years of careful raising, this Cursebug was extremely smart—if it sensed danger, it would run, and its speed was unmatched. Its defenses could even withstand attacks from God-Venerable experts, so he refused to believe anything was wrong with it.

But right now, the Lifebane Cursebug hadn’t died—it had formed a cocoon inside Evan Chu’s meridians to block the corrosive effects of his dragon blood. That was why there was no reaction at all, and the youth, knowing the Cursebug wasn’t in danger, found it all the more strange.

"You’ve been playing that flute for ages—aren’t you tired? Or is this what you call a powerful Cursebug? I don’t feel a thing. If this is your so-called 'wonderful sensation,' it’s honestly disappointing!" Evan Chu said.

The youth stopped and looked at Evan Chu, noticing that his complexion was still normal—none of the telltale signs of Gu poisoning, like a dark, ashen face. But the Lifebane Cursebug had definitely entered his body, so why was there no reaction? He was completely baffled.

"Kid, what did you do to my Cursebug? Did you seal it up somehow? If you don’t tell the truth, I’ll cut you down right here and now!" the youth snapped, furious.

"That little bug you’re talking about? I swallowed it ages ago. Using such trash to attack me—are you looking down on me or what? And one more thing: I have to tell you, the only one dying here will be you, not me. Believe it or not." Evan Chu laughed.

"You think you can kill me? Did I hear that right? An ant at the God-Lord Realm talking big like this—have you lost your mind?" The youth burst out laughing.

"You didn’t hear wrong, but it won’t be me who kills you—it’ll be someone else. There are plenty of savage beasts inside the Origin Worldstone, and right now we’re standing in one’s territory. Do you really think you have a chance to get out of here alive?" Evan Chu said calmly.

"Savage beasts? What a joke! I’ve entered the Origin Worldstone several times and never heard of any savage beasts. You’re just fearmongering—wait…" The youth suddenly realized he’d slipped up and glared furiously at Evan Chu.

"Kid, I didn’t expect you to be so cunning. You actually tricked me into revealing my identity without me noticing. But since you’re about to die anyway, it doesn’t matter if you know. Who would dare cause trouble for the Qin Tian Sword Sect?" the youth said.

Evan Chu chuckled, "So, Qin Tian Sword Sect—turns out Vice Sect Master Shangguan brought out the Origin Worldstone with a purpose. Looks like they already planned how to deal with me. But I don’t get it—if you know I have the auctioned goods, why send a fool like you? Or is it that your Qin Tian Sword Sect has run out of people?"

"Kid, you really do have a sharp tongue. But I won’t fall for it. If you think you’ll get more out of me, you’re dreaming. Enough—time to send you on your way. Die!" The youth finally lost his patience, his longsword flaring with sword light as he charged at Evan Chu.

"Wait! Do you really not realize you’re already at death’s door? Since you’re so clueless, let this king show you—Fire Dragon, come out!" Evan Chu shouted.

As soon as Evan Chu finished speaking, the Fire Dragon, in the form of a middle-aged man, appeared before him. With a casual wave, he sent the youth flying dozens of meters away. The sudden change left the youth stunned—he struggled up from the ground, disbelief written all over his face, and asked, "Who… who are you, really?"
