Four-Day Deadline Part 6

With a sharp whoosh, I felt a sudden heat on my cheek. The arrow had pierced through Justin Huang's shoulder and grazed my face. Instinctively, I clutched my cheek; when I drew my hand away, it was stained with blood.

"Take him out." Justin Huang pressed down hard on the Wraith General who had just been riding the bat. Mason Yu and I lunged forward together.

Suddenly, in the distance, we saw a Wraith General on horseback, bow raised, drawing the string again. Behind him, twenty or thirty more Wraith Generals, all mounted, charged toward us.

"Brother, hurry up and go!"

Up in the sky, Snowy shouted anxiously, clutching Rachel Lan in her arms. I raised the Deathbane Aura Blade and drove it straight toward the Wraith General’s chest.

With another sharp whoosh, Mason Yu struggled to raise his Celestial Chord Sword, deflecting the incoming arrow. But the force was so great that he tumbled off to the right.

A faint wail echoed. The Wraith General pinned beneath Justin Huang’s grip turned to ash, leaving behind only empty armor clattering on the ground. Justin clutched his wounded shoulder. The remaining Wraith Generals were less than fifty meters from us.

Mason Yu was still lying on the ground, and Justin Huang was injured. There was no way we could get far.

Suddenly, I remembered the Specter Pearl Old Nine had given me. I reached for it at my chest.

"Ethan, inject Deathbane Aura into my body. Hurry!"

Justin Huang suddenly roared, just like he did last time, but I still didn’t know what I was supposed to do.

I stared at Justin’s shoulder where the arrow had pierced him, black blood pouring out. Then he grabbed me, hauling me up onto his neck.

I immediately released my Deathbane Aura, pressing my hands to Justin’s neck. Even though he wanted me to channel the aura, I had no idea how to do it.

“Think carefully! Last time, how did you infuse the Deathbane Aura into your own body—when you fought Chen Miaoqiang?”

My heart skipped a beat, my mind buzzing as something clicked. I focused all my attention, letting the aura flow from my hands, slowly finding the sensation. Bit by bit, the Deathbane Aura seeped into Justin’s body.

“Now! Give me all the aura you can channel—give me everything.”

Justin could feel it too.

“Ah—”

I shouted, and in that instant, Deathbane Aura surged from my hands, following that feeling, pouring everything I had into Justin’s body.

A creaking noise echoed—the bones in Justin’s body started to crack and shift.
