Ian looked down at the Harriet Gu cradled in his arms. Her brows were tightly furrowed, her cheeks pale, a look of pain on her face.
With a thought, Ian Song enveloped her body with his Clairvoyant Vision, discovering that she hadn’t suffered any physical injury at all.
Suddenly, Ian remembered that fusing with a Martial Soul consumes a lot of mental power. Most people with weak mental strength can’t even handle fusing one Martial Soul.
Harriet had only just fused a High-Grade Martial Soul not long ago. Even if she had some mental power left, it wouldn’t be much. Now, trying to fuse a second Martial Soul, she was bound to run out of mental strength, which must be why she’d fallen unconscious.
"Damn it, how did I forget about this!"
Ian cursed himself and hurriedly took out a bottle of mental-replenishing pills, immediately feeding three to Harriet.
These pills were extremely precious. Back then, the Melody Empress had given him a bottle, which he later gifted to Harriet—helping her break through to Grandmaster.
As for this particular bottle of mental-replenishing pills, he’d earned it as a reward for his merits on the Blood River Battlefield, courtesy of the Military Council.
However, Ian quickly realized that even though he’d fed Harriet three pills, she hadn’t swallowed them.
Helpless, he lowered his head and kissed her lips, then slipped his tongue into her mouth, rolling up the three pills and sending them straight into her stomach.
Sure enough, with the help of the three pills, Harriet’s tightly furrowed brows relaxed a lot, and her complexion became noticeably rosier.
But this improvement only lasted for a quarter of an hour before her face once again turned deathly pale, and fine beads of sweat broke out on her forehead.
"Looks like her mental power still isn’t enough!"
This time, Ian poured out five more pills and sent them into Harriet’s stomach the same way.
Half an hour later, Harriet’s brows had fully relaxed and her complexion was back to normal.
However, she still hadn’t woken up.
Ian knew her mind had been overdrawn and she’d probably need to sleep for a while.
So, Ian carried Harriet over to sit beneath the big tree, waiting for her to wake up.
Looking at the sleeping Harriet in his arms, her face was nearly flawless. For a moment, Ian’s gaze softened with infatuation, and he gently kissed her on the forehead.
"I wonder, when the day comes for me to return to the real world, will she be willing to go with me?"
