The gatekeeper asked, "What are you trading?"

"Dark Spirit Stones," Howling Wolf replied.

"Let me check for you—whether anyone is trading Dark Spirit Stones today." The gatekeeper took out a register, glanced through it, and said, "No one today, but tomorrow someone wants to trade one hundred thousand Dark Spirit Stones. Their condition is an eighth-grade Immortal artifact or something else of equal value."

"Eighth-grade Immortal artifact? That's robbery!" Howling Wolf exclaimed.

"There's nothing I can do. That's what they said. I don't know the details—you'll have to check again tomorrow," the gatekeeper replied.

"Alright, thank you." Howling Wolf knew this place wasn't somewhere you could act out, so he could only reply respectfully.

After speaking, Howling Wolf led Evan Yang out of the building and said to him, "We should find somewhere to stay. Standing out here on the street is too conspicuous."

"Yeah." Evan Yang knew eighth-grade Immortal artifacts weren't easy to come by, so he figured he'd have to trade something else instead.

Howling Wolf found an inn, booked a room, then brought Evan Yang inside and said, "I'm heading out for a bit. Wait here and don't leave, no matter what."

"Alright, got it," Evan Yang answered.

Howling Wolf glanced at Evan Yang, then left the room and headed out of the city. He finally arrived at a deserted mountain, searched around, and came to a big tree. Muttering to himself, he said, "Looks like I'll have to sacrifice you."

After muttering, Howling Wolf dug a hole under the tree and took out a box containing a bead. The bead radiated eight colors of light—a mark of an eighth-grade Immortal artifact.

Thinking about the bead's origin, Howling Wolf remembered someone giving it to him when he was a child. He never knew its use, but since it was at least eighth-grade, maybe someone else would want it—he could trade it for Dark Spirit Stones.

Putting away the artifact, Howling Wolf headed back into the city. Just as he was about to reach the inn, someone behind him shouted, "Howling Wolf!"

Howling Wolf instinctively turned around and saw a familiar figure.

Seeing the familiar figure, Howling Wolf exclaimed in shock, "Loren Lane!"

"I wondered where you ran off to. Never thought you'd show up here. Well, hand over that thing—if you don't, you won't leave today!" Loren Lane shouted angrily.

The commotion drew the attention of everyone nearby. Evan Yang, in the inn, heard the shouting and looked out to see Loren Lane yelling at Howling Wolf.

Seeing the situation, Evan Yang left the inn and saw Loren Lane chasing Howling Wolf toward the city outskirts.

Outside the city, Loren Lane and Howling Wolf started fighting. Howling Wolf quickly lost ground and was about to be injured when Evan Yang appeared, flashing in front of Loren Lane and blocking his attack.

Seeing Evan Yang again, Loren Lane shouted angrily, "Who are you?"

"The guy who's robbing you. Now get lost," Evan Yang said.

Loren Lane was unwilling, but knew that with Evan Yang present, he couldn't do anything to Howling Wolf. Furious, he left. After he was gone, Evan Yang asked Howling Wolf, "Where did you go?"

"Nothing much, just went to get something. Didn't expect to run into him on the way back," Howling Wolf replied.

Hearing this, Evan Yang told Howling Wolf to return to the inn so no one else would notice them. Still, some people who weren't satisfied had already spotted them.

Not long after they entered the inn, a short man across the street watched them go in and muttered, "Finally found you, Howling Wolf. You're good at hiding, but let's see how you escape this time. I'll go contact Grandma and the others."

"Does it get dark here too?" Evan Yang asked suspiciously, noticing it was even darker than before.

"This place is an independent space. But yeah, it simulates nighttime—once it gets dark, everything turns pitch black except for firelight," Howling Wolf explained.

"So that's how it is," Evan Yang muttered as he watched the sky grow darker.

"Alright, let's rest for today. Tomorrow we'll trade for Dark Spirit Stones, then go buy the information you want," Howling Wolf said.

Evan Yang nodded, then stayed in the inn with Howling Wolf, waiting as time slowly passed. Just as he was about to close his eyes, he sensed an aura nearby that was watching them.

"So someone is watching us," Evan Yang muttered after sensing the aura. He told Howling Wolf he was going out for a walk, then left alone.

Howling Wolf wondered why Evan Yang left alone, but he didn't follow—he just stayed in the room and waited.

After leaving the inn, Evan Yang tracked the aura and soon arrived at another inn, discovering it came from one of the rooms inside.

Sensitive to aura, Evan Yang muttered, "Who could it be?" Curious, he changed his appearance and knocked on the door.

"Who is it?" The person inside was clearly startled and shouted angrily.

"I'm a server, delivering wine," Evan Yang said.

"Wine? When did I order wine?" the person frowned.

"It's a complimentary drink from the inn. It's really good—one cup per room. If you miss this, you'll regret it," Evan Yang said.

Curious, the person came out. Evan Yang saw a short man, who looked him up and down, then examined the cup and said, "What kind of wine is this? Is it really as good as you say?" Curious, he picked up the cup, sniffed it, and felt as if he'd entered paradise. He drank it all in one gulp and immediately became dizzy. Evan Yang helped him inside and closed the door.

He searched the room but found nothing, so he kept looking until he spotted a token at the man's waist.

The token was carved with a divine eagle. "Strange, is this a sect or a clan?"

Seeing nothing else useful, Evan Yang put the man back where he'd found him, pocketed the token, left the inn, returned to his own place, restored his appearance, and went inside.

When Howling Wolf saw Evan Yang return, he smiled and said, "Oh? You're back so soon?"

"Yeah, just went for a walk and accidentally picked up something. Do you recognize it, Brother Howling?" Evan Yang said, holding out the token. When Howling Wolf saw it, he exclaimed, "Eagle God Hall!"

"Eagle God Hall?" Evan Yang asked, curious at Howling Wolf's shocked expression.

"That's right, Eagle God Hall is a powerful organization. The first group we offended was them. Damn it, are they in this city now?" Howling Wolf said, startled.

Evan Yang finally understood—the man had definitely found Howling Wolf and probably already sent word. Thinking this over, Evan Yang said, "Looks like we need to change locations."

"What's wrong?" Howling Wolf asked suspiciously.

"Seeing this token means they probably already have people in the city," Evan Yang said.

"That's true, but what about your Dark Spirit Stones?" Howling Wolf thought about Evan Yang's Dark Spirit Stones and didn't plan to leave just yet.

Seeing Howling Wolf so concerned, Evan Yang said, "Thanks for caring. Leave it to me. They're after you—just hide outside the city. Once I trade for Dark Spirit Stones, I'll find you."

"That works. Here, use this to trade for Dark Spirit Stones tomorrow," Howling Wolf said, handing Evan Yang a box. When Evan Yang opened it and saw the artifact inside, he exclaimed, "You're really going to trade an eighth-grade one?"

"Yes, it's the only way to get Dark Spirit Stones," Howling Wolf replied.

"It's too precious—I can't accept it. You should keep it, I'll figure something else out," Evan Yang said.

"No need. It's useless to me, and you helped me get the Coldheart Wood. This is nothing," Howling Wolf said.

Evan Yang hadn't expected Howling Wolf to be so generous.

Howling Wolf insisted on leaving the box, then left, saying to meet him at a temple in the east of the city later.

Evan Yang watched Howling Wolf leave, put away the box, and muttered, "Truly a man of character."

After muttering, Evan Yang composed himself and prepared to go elsewhere—after all, this place was exposed.

Meanwhile, the short man at the inn was still unconscious, until two women in Daoist robes—each with a divine eagle emblem—arrived.

One of the women said, "Why is he asleep?"

"He's not asleep, he's been drugged," the other woman frowned, squatting down to check on the short man.

Hearing this, the first woman was shocked. She checked the man herself and found he really was poisoned—no matter what she tried, he wouldn't wake up, and his token was gone.

"The token is gone. That's good—at least we can track down who took it," said the second woman.

The other woman nodded. One of them took out an artifact, closed her eyes, and saw that the token was still in the city, now with a man she didn't recognize. She frowned and asked, "Do you know this person? What's his connection to Howling Wolf?"

The second woman glanced at a portrait of Evan Yang and shook her head. "No, I don't know him."

"Doesn't matter, let's go check it out first." With that, the two women got up and left.

At that moment, Evan Yang was in a new room when suddenly two dark figures flew in through the window and landed in front of him.

"Who are you two?" Evan Yang asked, surprised they'd found him so quickly.

"I'm Lingyu from Eagle God Hall," one woman said. The other added, "I'm Lingpei from Eagle God Hall!"

"Lingyu? Lingpei? Those are odd names. So, do you know me, or are you just lonely and looking for a man?" Evan Yang joked.

"How dare you tease us!" Lingyu said angrily.

Lingpei was also shocked, not expecting Evan Yang to act this way, and looked at him unhappily.

Seeing both women staring at him, Evan Yang smiled, "You two look pretty similar—are you twins?"
