Narrow Encounter with an Old Foe

12/19/2025

Shane Rivers and Serena Heng had always stood on the same side as Joe Di, so naturally they would never leak any information about what happened here. As for Victor Kuang and the others, after witnessing Joe Di’s strength, none of them dared to treat his words lightly.

Seeing that Joe Di was about to leave with Shane Rivers and Serena Heng, Victor Kuang couldn’t hold back anymore. He knew very well that with a powerhouse like Joe Di, once he left, meeting him again would be a matter of luck.

"Brother Di, there is something I find hard to say, but it concerns my son Craig Stone’s future..." Victor Kuang stepped in front of Joe Di, bowed deeply, and spoke with utmost humility.

Joe Di knew what Victor Kuang wanted to ask—he was hoping for an Origin Prime Pill for Craig Stone. But Joe Di’s Origin Prime Pills weren’t something to be handed out freely. Though these pills might seem trivial to him, each one would cause a sensation if revealed to the world.

Seeing that Joe Di didn’t respond, Victor Kuang had no choice but to say, "My son Craig Stone is already at the half-step Prime Realm, just one step away from breaking through. But the Origin Prime Pill is too precious—I simply can’t obtain such a treasure. I don’t know what you might find valuable, Brother Di. Here is my ring; please feel free to look for anything you might want."

As he spoke, Victor Kuang proactively handed his ring to Joe Di.

In truth, Joe Di didn’t want to leave an Origin Prime Pill for Craig Stone, but Victor Kuang’s actions made Joe Di see him in a new light. Whatever else could be said about Victor Kuang, at least his devotion to his son was beyond question.

Joe Di didn’t take Victor Kuang’s ring; his divine sense had already scanned its contents. Aside from a half-broken supreme-grade spirit vein, which was passable, the other items might be treasures to ordinary cultivators, but to him, they were hardly worth mentioning.

If there had been anything worthwhile, Joe Di wouldn’t have minded making a trade. But since Victor Kuang had nothing of real value, Joe Di couldn’t even be bothered to take his things.

Instead, he simply took out an Origin Prime Pill and handed it to Victor Kuang, saying, "I don’t need your things. I only ask one favor: if any of my friends arrive in the Dao Domain or appear at the Wormhole, I hope you’ll offer them some help."

Victor Kuang was overjoyed and quickly said, "Rest assured, Brother Di. I guarantee I’ll keep this in mind and will never let you down."

Victor Kuang didn’t seem like a schemer, and besides, an Origin Prime Pill was nothing to Joe Di. If Victor Kuang was diligent, then when Joe Di’s friends and relatives were teleported here in the future, they would be well cared for—at least they wouldn’t nearly lose their lives like he almost did.

With everything settled, Joe Di turned to Shane Rivers and Serena Heng and said, "We can go now."

Martin Wu proactively suggested, "If you don’t mind, Shane and Serena, you’re welcome to join the Dao Domain Sect Alliance."

"I’m willing," Shane Rivers replied eagerly. Working for the Dao Domain Sect Alliance was far more comfortable than joining a major sect. Plus, resources for cultivation would never be lacking there. The only downside was the lack of sect heritage and no master for guidance.

But if you could enter the Dao Domain Sect Alliance, it wouldn’t be hard to join a good sect later on.

"I’m willing too," Serena Heng said, having also understood the benefits.

Besides, they both knew that after teleporting away from here, Joe Di would soon part ways with them. It was better to seize this opportunity and join the Dao Domain Sect Alliance now. This was not the time for pride or hesitation.

"In that case, thank you, Alliance Leader Wu," Joe Di said, genuinely happy for Shane Rivers and Serena Heng. He truly couldn’t take them with him—at most, he could only help them leave Leapgate City.

From here on, their future growth would depend on themselves.

Eager to leave the Dao Domain, Joe Di was personally escorted to the teleportation array by Martin Wu and the others, who bid him farewell with a wave.

...

There are three destinations accessible from Leapgate City’s teleportation array. Joe Di chose Mahe Divine City.

Joe Di came to Mahe Divine City mainly because he wanted to go to Voidmount, which was not far from Mahe Divine City.

Joe Di didn’t summon a flying artifact. His flames hadn’t advanced yet, so he still couldn’t refine a supreme-grade flying artifact. For short distances, he found that his divine sense escape technique was far more reliable than any flying artifact.

Boom—a violent burst of divine energy exploded in the sky. Under Joe Di’s divine sense, he saw three cultivators engaged in battle, with another person nervously watching from the side.

To Joe Di’s surprise, he knew all four people. Three he had met before, and the fourth, though he hadn’t met face-to-face, he’d seen a portrait and even hunted him down. It was none other than Jaden Dai, who had put a bounty on Joe Di.

Without hesitation, Joe Di darted over. He had been searching for Jaden Dai everywhere and hadn’t expected him to still be in the Dao Domain. Joe Di had assumed Jaden Dai would have left long ago.

"Is that you?" As soon as Joe Di entered their divine sense range, the three fighting cultivators stopped. The exclamation came from the woman watching from the side—Manna Zhen, whom Joe Di had met not long ago.

Jaden Dai’s face lit up with excitement. He had been searching everywhere for Joe Di, only for Joe Di to suddenly appear right before him. It was truly a case of searching high and low, only to find what you sought with no effort at all.

The ones fighting Jaden Dai were Ruby Lan and the red-clothed woman, Violet Liu. At this moment, Violet Liu was covered in blood, her arm lying on the ground with no chance to retrieve it. Ruby Lan’s hair was disheveled, her face pale, and her chest was also drenched in blood.

"Hahahaha..." Jaden Dai suddenly burst into crazed laughter. He had searched for Joe Di to the point of near madness, never expecting Joe Di to deliver himself right to him.

For him, nothing mattered more than capturing Joe Di. As long as Joe Di was here, everything else could be set aside.

"Joe Di, this has nothing to do with you. Leave quickly!" Ruby Lan called out anxiously. She hadn’t expected Joe Di to show up so soon, and even to cross paths with them here.

Violet Liu didn’t even dare to retrieve her arm, keeping a wary eye on Jaden Dai.

Joe Di was deeply impressed by Ruby Lan and Violet Liu—Ruby Lan must be incredibly strong in combat. Otherwise, facing Jaden Dai, she and Violet Liu wouldn’t have lasted more than a few moves. Joe Di had heard that Jaden Dai killed two Genesis Realm elders from Great Buddha Mountain, and did so in a direct confrontation.

Moreover, Jaden Dai was now even stronger than before, having reached the late Genesis Realm.

Jaden Dai kept throwing out array banners, his violent domain aura already locking down this section of space. Today, he absolutely would not let Joe Di escape—he knew all too well how skilled Joe Di was at running away.

Precisely because he knew how good Joe Di was at escaping, Jaden Dai didn’t strike immediately upon seeing him, but instead set up a trapping array first.

"Leave? Can you leave now?" Jaden Dai said, tossing out dozens more array banners as he spoke.

Joe Di replied calmly, "Jaden Dai, I know what you’re after, but the thing you want is hidden somewhere. If you want it, you’d better let these three women go and follow me to get it."

Joe Di was well aware of Jaden Dai’s strength. He planned to use the Yin-Yang Taiji Diagram and Voidmount to take him down. If those weren’t enough, he’d use his trump card—the Black Reincarnation Bridge.

Previously, he hadn’t met any opponents worthy of these treasures, so he never had the chance to use them. Now that he was facing Jaden Dai, it was time to show his true skills.

He wanted the women to leave because Joe Di didn’t want his secrets exposed. Whether it was Voidmount or the Yin-Yang Taiji Diagram, both were sensitive. As for the Black Reincarnation Bridge, that was even more secretive.

"Ha!" Jaden Dai laughed loudly. "You think you can escape from me?"

Joe Di took out a talisman and said lightly, "If you don’t let them go, I’ll crush this talisman before you can subdue me. It’ll turn me into nothingness, and you’ll never get what you want. If you don’t believe me, feel free to gamble."
