Scalding Tea and Ruined Face

12/2/2025

"Lily Evans, let me bring you some tea to apologize!" May Parker marched over to the table, poured a cup of steaming hot tea, and slowly, deliberately, walked toward Lily Evans with the cup held high.

Lily Evans watched May Parker approach, a sly smile playing at her lips. Oh, this scene was all too familiar—straight out of a palace drama.

Next up, May Parker would probably trip and send the hot tea flying—right onto Lily Evans's face, leaving her disfigured. Classic.

On the surface, Lily Evans looked utterly relaxed as May Parker drew near, but underneath, she was ready to spring into action. If May Parker tried anything, Lily was confident she could dodge that steaming tea.

May Parker kept her head down, masking the blazing hatred in her eyes. She’d already lost everything—her reputation, her standing in the Evans family. She had nothing left to lose. If she could ruin Lily Evans’s seductive face, it’d be worth it!

As she neared, May Parker’s grip tightened on the cup. Just as she was about to make her move, a barely perceptible shadow flashed by—

With a swift, practiced motion, Alexander Hayes snatched the cup from May Parker’s hand. The hot tea sloshed out, splattering directly onto May Parker’s face.

A blood-curdling scream ripped through the room. May Parker clutched her face, howling in agony, her voice echoing like a banshee.

Helen Parker rushed over, her heart breaking at the sight. "Meixiang! My poor child, what happened to your face?"

May Parker’s skin was already blistering, red and raw. She shrieked, "My face! My face is ruined!"

"Meixiang! My poor daughter, your face is ruined!" Helen Parker wailed, her cry piercing and desperate.

The Evans household erupted into chaos—some rushed to carry May Parker out, others shouted for a doctor.

Lily Evans blinked in confusion. That tea was meant for her—so how did it end up all over May Parker’s face?

Ian Lee stood nearby, a faint smile tugging at his lips as he glanced sidelong at Zephyr Shaw, seated quietly beside Lily Evans.

No one else noticed, but Ian Lee saw everything. Just as May Parker flung the cup toward Lily Evans, Zephyr Shaw unleashed a subtle burst of inner force, redirecting the cup’s angle—so the steaming tea splashed onto May Parker’s face instead.

Cloud Evans kept his head down, munching on his food, secretly scoffing at May Parker: Trying to harm the general’s wife right in front of the general? This woman must have a death wish.

"Oh dear, my sweet sister, what happened to you?" Lily Evans instantly donned the ‘deep sisterly love’ act May Parker had tried to pin on her, feigning concern with a flourish.

May Parker’s eyelid was blistered, barely able to open a slit. She glared at Lily Evans’s flawless face, seething with envy and hatred, wishing she could tear it apart.

"Quick, quick! Why isn’t the doctor here yet?" Lily Evans called out, all the while holding May Parker’s hand, her expression radiating concern. "We’re sisters; my earlier words were just anger, I’d never truly hold a grudge against you! Oh, if only I hadn’t let you serve tea as an apology. Look at you—how could you be so careless to scald your own face with a teacup?"

May Parker was beside herself with frustration. She’d calculated everything—the tea should have splashed onto Lily Evans’s face! How had it ended up on her own? She’d truly shot herself in the foot this time. Clutching her face, she was torn between regret and terror, terrified her looks were ruined and she’d lost her last advantage.

Soon, the doctor arrived. The waiters from Xiangmanlou carried May Parker to a private room next door for treatment, with Helen Parker wailing and trailing behind.

Ian Lee sighed, "Well, that was unexpected. Maybe we should just call it a day and disperse."

"Grandpa, the little sister’s already gone to get treated, don’t let this spoil our mood. Let’s keep eating!" Susan Evans piped up, eager to keep the peace. He’d barely had a chance to speak before the crowd started to disperse.
