Just as Leon was about to be overwhelmed, a voice rang out: "Lana! Stop!"
A sixteen- or seventeen-year-old youth descended from the sky, stunning everyone present. Each person thought to themselves, "Is this an immortal?" Leon hurried forward, calling out, "Big brother!"
"Leon, I just heard you would be coming for the test today, so I came to host the recruitment ceremony." The youth smiled kindly. This was Warren Wong, a clansman of Leon's generation in the Wong Clan, and ten years ago, he was recruited into the Rising Sun Sect.
At this moment, Lana Situ withdrew her aura. After all, this was the Rising Sun Sect's territory, and now someone had appeared, so she couldn't continue to press the issue. She smiled, "So it was you—the Rising Sun Sect's prized disciple."
Warren smiled and walked over to Lana. "Lana, since we last met, you've become even more beautiful." Everyone present could tell Warren had feelings for Lana, but her cold reply interrupted their thoughts: "Thank you for the compliment. I'm surprised the Rising Sun Sect would let you host today—I'm genuinely shocked!"
"No choice—the senior uncles are busy, and I'm the only one with free time, so I was sent here." Warren replied smugly.
"Then I won't bother you. Hurry up and start the recruitment." Lana said with a cold attitude, inwardly wishing to leave quickly. But remembering her master's instructions before leaving the sect, she could only hope Warren would finish soon.
Warren noticed Lana's expression, felt a shadow pass through his heart, but kept his composure and turned to address the crowd: "I am a disciple of the Rising Sun Sect. Today, I'll be hosting the recruitment. Please follow my instructions." The crowd erupted in excitement, but Evan Yang and his group felt uneasy, worried Warren might make things difficult for them because of his familiarity with Leon.
Noticing their worried expressions, Lana walked over, squatted beside Evan, and asked, "What's your name?"
"Evan Yang!" Evan answered without hesitation. Hearing his name, Lana smiled and said, "Don't worry. If your aptitude is good, I guarantee you'll be able to enter the sect. No one will dare to bully you."
Hearing this, Evan and the others finally felt a weight lift from their hearts, and Evan found himself feeling a growing favor toward Lana.
As they spoke, Warren had already taken out a stone from his hand. It glowed with white light, and everyone was curious about what kind of 'immortal treasure' would be used to test them. Warren proudly explained, "Everyone, hold this stone, close your eyes, and try to sense it." The crowd grew excited, eager to be tested.
One by one, the candidates held the stone. Miraculously, some made it emit green light, some could not, and a few produced blue light. After everyone had finished, they were sorted into groups: those with no light, those with green light, and those with blue light.
Finally, Warren walked up to Evan and his group with a smile. "It's your turn. Do as the others did—place your hand on the stone and feel." Having seen so many people tested safely, Mr. Li let the children try. Only Ryan Li produced green light; the others showed ordinary white light. When Evan held the stone, the light was a dim, murky white. Lana frowned at this unusual result, and Evan wondered why his light was so different from everyone else's.
