"My heart... Who are you, really?"
Zuo Quanyi clutched his chest, black blood constantly oozing from the corner of his mouth. He staggered backward, step by step. The golden short sword that had pierced his chest turned into golden particles and vanished.
"I'm a Taoist. My surname is Zhang. My Taoist name is Jizheng. Zhang Jizheng, that's who I am."
As Zhang Jizheng spoke, golden light burst forth from his entire body. He raised his hand, and in an instant, seven golden rays shot up from his back. Suddenly, Zhang Jizheng stepped forward with his left foot, his right foot braced behind, both hands raised high as he began to move them. Then, with a swift motion, his palms joined together, and I saw his fingers weaving intricate signs.
"Warriors, array before me... Formation! Seven Stars Extreme Radiance! Divine Weapon and Fire, by decree—hup!"
Suddenly, the seven golden rays in the sky shot down toward Zuo Quanyi's body.
"Not good! Be careful! Dodge! This is the Great Way—utter simplicity!"
A buzzing sound rang out. In an instant, Zhang Jizheng rushed toward Zuo Quanyi. He pointed with his right hand, tracing through the air, and a string of Taoist talismans suddenly appeared.
Lao Chongyuan was already charging forward, but Zhu Tang, wielding twin blades, blocked his path.
"Don't even think about getting through."
With a bang, flames exploded, instantly engulfing Lao Chongyuan's figure in fire.
The seven golden rays instantly pierced into Zuo Quanyi's body. He screamed in agony as sizzling sounds erupted, black smoke billowing from his body.
Zhang Jizheng approached Zuo Quanyi, raising two fingers. The golden talismans seemed to swirl before his fingertips, then, with a series of bangs, the golden Taoist script branded itself onto Zuo Quanyi's body.
"Ah...!"
Zuo Quanyi screamed in torment, his body seeming to corrode and dissolve, exposing blackened bones. He froze, eyes wide open.
Zhang Jizheng immediately took out three golden talismans, slapping them onto Zuo Quanyi's forehead, right shoulder, and left chest.
"One down. How's it going on your side?"
Zhang Jizheng quickly turned around and shouted. By now, the flames had dissipated. With a cracking sound, the crimson short blade in Zhu Tang's hand shattered into fragments and turned into wisps of fire, vanishing completely.
Zhu Tang's right shoulder had completely disappeared.
"Not looking good. That guy wasn't hurt as badly as we thought."
