Number One Expert of East River State

1/5/2026

"Alright, I'm making my move now!" At this moment, Ryan Ling didn't hesitate at all. With the Ghost-King Robe draped over him, he felt not only his strength surge, but his control over yin energy had grown much sharper. Even his whole aura had changed.

Being a Seventh-Grade Spirit Officer in the Netherworld is basically a low-level bureaucrat, so those pulling fierce ghosts normally wouldn't care about him. But now, with the Ghost-King Robe suddenly on his body, Ryan's aura and status were totally transformed. All the yin energy and the fierce ghosts yanking at him just froze in place.

"What the hell? Hurry up and drag him in! Get that bastard into the Netherworld, now, now, now!" The Ten Reapers' boss instantly roared, and the rest of the Reapers freaked out and shouted too.

"What's going on? He was already halfway in, but those pulling fierce ghosts just stopped all of a sudden. What is this? You know, those things are insanely cold and deadly—anyone who gets grabbed by them is basically guaranteed to die!"

"What the hell is Ryan Ling even made of? At this point, I'm almost sure he's not even human. No way a regular person could pull off this many miracles!"

"No need to say more—if he actually survives this fight, he'll probably rank top ten among all the powerhouses in Jiangnan, right?"

"An eighteen-year-old kid, squeezing into Jiangnan's top ten experts—what even is this? Man, we should all be embarrassed!"

......

All the top dogs from the surrounding provinces saw this scene and couldn't help sighing.

Obviously, after this battle, Ryan Ling didn't just wipe out the Azure Dragon Society that's been squatting in East River for years—he's also made a name for himself all across China. Of course, all the nearby experts were super jealous of such a sweet deal.

Serena Yan might be pushing forty, but thanks to her top-tier self-care, she looked barely thirty. Her figure was amazing—her hips especially famous in Jinling as the best in town, driving countless men wild. Even now, after Victor Yan was bedridden, plenty of guys tried hitting on her, from rich boys to playboys, but she sent every one packing.

But right now, Serena Yan had her eye on Ryan Ling like he'd just turned into a treasure. Maybe she was the only one here who knew the real reason behind his sudden breakthrough.

“The Ghost-King Robe actually appeared... Could this guy be the legendary next King of Hell?” Serena’s eyes lit up. Her Fifth-Rank Spirit Officer title was basically meaningless now, and the Yan Family was slipping from the top four in Jinling. She desperately needed someone strong to back them—and this suddenly-rising Ryan Ling was exactly who she’d been searching for.

“Mom, what are you talking about?” Lily Yan blinked, clearly clueless about her mother’s meaning.

“Nothing!” Serena quickly shook her head. This kind of secret couldn’t be shared lightly, not even with her own daughter. But seeing Lily’s worshipful look toward Ryan Ling, she couldn’t help but ask, “Lily, are you planning to ask him to be your master?”

“That’s right, Mom. You—you’ll agree, won’t you?” Lily stammered. Serena had always been strict with her, which was part of why she’d never found a master after all these years.

“I agree!” Serena nodded firmly, then added, “And let me be clear—I don’t just agree. I want you to use whatever means you need to bring him into the Yan Family. Don’t let anyone else snatch him away first. Got it?”

“Any means?” Lily looked at her mother’s expression and suddenly understood, her cheeks turning red.

“The Yan Family’s interests come first. If you have to use your looks, so be it. I’ve raised you all these years—it’s time to put that to use!” Serena wasn’t one for beating around the bush; she was direct as always.

“Mom, what are you saying!” Lily was still just a student, easily flustered. She quickly ran off, face burning.

Serena Yan smiled faintly. Obviously, she was doing all this for her daughter's sake—the future heir to the King of Hell. Being his woman would be an incredible honor. Too bad she herself was just a bit too old; otherwise, she might've tried to marry Ryan Ling herself.

......

Meanwhile, on the raging battlefield, no matter how hard the nine remaining Reapers tried to drag him down, not a single ghost responded. Their ultimate move seemed to have totally lost its effect on Ryan Ling.

“This can’t be happening! Brothers, unleash all your yin energy—let’s go all out! Even if we die together, we’ll fight him to the end!” The Reaper boss was clearly unwilling to accept defeat. Their ultimate move had never failed before, and he refused to believe it would fail against Ryan Ling.

In an instant, all the other Reapers started screaming wildly. They were going all-in, unleashing every drop of yin energy inside them. The terrifying Gate of Hell suddenly expanded, and it felt like even stronger evil spirits were roaring within.

“Terrifying!” The nearby experts all fell back. At this moment, it seemed like the entire Jiangdong Provincial Capital was about to be dragged into the Netherworld by this surge of ghostly power.

Clearly, at this moment, these nine guys had stopped caring about anything else. They were unleashing their ultimate strength, and those who understood ghost arts could faintly see shadows of their past-life ghost-official forms flickering behind them.

Once again, all eyes turned to Ryan Ling. No one knew if he could withstand the Reapers’ peak attack, or if he’d break free like he did before.

“Cheap tricks!” Ryan Ling suddenly sneered. In front of the Ghost-King Robe, these moves were nothing but child’s play.

“What did you just say?” The Reaper boss’s face twisted in rage.

Everyone around just stared at Ryan Ling, dumbfounded. Most people figured he wouldn’t dare brag like that right now.

“For my father’s sake, I’m giving you one chance. If you don’t get lost now, I’ll kill you all!” Ryan Ling’s eyes blazed with fury—not just at the nine Reapers, but also at the countless ghosts inside the Gate of Hell.

“Who do you think you are? You little punk, you think you’re really a god? All ghosts, attack—bite him to death!” The nine Reapers shouted in unison.

On the other side, Ryan Ling unleashed his strongest attack—the Ghost-King Robe revealed its true form, and in an instant, the Gate of Hell exploded.

Immediately, all the ghostly entities dropped to their knees—they had truly witnessed his power!

“I gave you a chance, but here’s your second—now you’ll be wiped out, body and soul!” Ryan Ling swept his robe, blasting all the ghosts away.

Everyone around was stunned. They’d never seen such a terrifying ghost-destroying power before. Thanks to Ryan Ling’s extraordinary display, his status as Jiangdong Province’s number one master was now unshakable.

Meanwhile, Serena Yan was so stunned she could barely blink. She’d already made up her mind—no matter what it took, she had to recruit a talent like him.

“The ghosts are gone—now it’s your turn!” Ryan Ling’s eyes were like knives, locked onto the nine Reapers.
