After more than ten days apart, Bruno the Dragon-Qilin had slimmed down considerably—well, most parts of him had. He looked almost as majestic as he did back when he guarded the Academy gates, except his belly was still enormous. Apparently, the thunder strikes hadn’t managed to temper his stomach.

Suddenly, Bruno flopped onto his back, rolled halfway over, splayed his limbs to the sky, and opened his mouth wide, letting the rolling thunder crash straight into his belly.

"He’s got a new move now? Is that how he plans to burn off his belly fat?"

Lynn Ling couldn’t help but laugh and cry at the same time. She pushed forward through the roaring thunder and the deep notes of the Ancestral Dragon Eight Tones, but whatever Quinn was saying to her was completely drowned out.

Quinn leaned close to her ear and shouted, "Careful!"

"Careful of what?" Lynn shouted back, confused.

Suddenly, the thunder bursting from the Five-Thunder War Gourd intensified, striking even harder. Lynn was zapped until she was crispy on the outside and tender inside, and Bruno convulsed with every bolt. But the dragon pearl and qilin pearl spun around them, healing their burns almost instantly.

Lynn gritted her teeth through the pain, astonished: "Bruno’s dragon pearl can do that? Of course—his dragon saliva heals wounds quickly, so his dragon pearl must have similar effects. No wonder they can survive in the heart of the thunderstorm for so long."

Still, she didn’t dare let her own Primordial Spirit leave her body to face the thunder directly.

Quinn had succeeded in breaking through, becoming a Heaven-Man Realm cultivator. His Primordial Spirit was strong enough to endure the thunder’s punishment—but Lynn wasn’t quite there yet.

After more than ten days, Bruno the Dragon-Qilin had slimmed down considerably. In fact, nearly every part of him had shrunk, and he looked almost as majestic as he did back when he guarded the gate at the Grand Academy—except for his belly, which was still huge. Apparently, the thunder hadn't managed to temper that part yet.

Suddenly, Bruno flopped down, rolled halfway over, stuck his four legs in the air, and opened his mouth wide, letting the rolling thunder crash directly onto his belly.

"He’s got another trick? Is that for burning off belly fat?"

Lynn Ling couldn’t help but laugh and cry at the same time. She struggled forward, thunder roaring and the Ancestral Dragon Eight Tones ringing in her ears. Quinn was saying something to her, but she couldn’t hear a word.

Quinn leaned close to her ear and shouted, "Careful!"

"Careful of what?" Lynn Ling shouted back, confused and a little frantic in the chaos.

Suddenly, the thunder pouring from the Five-Thunder War Gourd grew even fiercer. Lynn Ling was struck until she was crispy outside and tender inside, and Bruno kept twitching under the barrage. But the dragon pearl and qilin pearl spun around them, quickly healing their burns.

Lynn Ling gritted her teeth through the pain, amazed: "Bruno’s dragon pearl can do this? Of course—it’s like his dragon saliva, which heals wounds fast. I bet the dragon pearl has the same effect. No wonder they can last so long in the heart of the thunder."

Still, she didn’t dare let her own Primordial Spirit leave her body to face the thunder directly.

Quinn had successfully broken through the barrier, becoming a Heaven-Man Realm cultivator. His Primordial Spirit was strong enough to endure the thunder’s strikes—something Lynn Ling still couldn’t manage.

Outside, True God Pang Yu saw the Nine-Heaven Cloud Dragon Canopy suddenly swell, and his heart skipped a beat. He worried the canopy might burst and secretly grumbled, “Quinn Shepherd trusts me and my treasure way too much. This Five-Thunder War Gourd isn’t some ordinary toy—if its power really explodes, forget my Cloud Dragon Canopy, even High-Emperor Heaven itself might get ploughed up by heavenly thunder like farmland!”
