Your Death Has Arrived
Alexander Hayes heard what Xiao Yun said and gave a mysterious, knowing smile: "So what if I can swallow it? So what if I can't?"
Xiao Yun scratched his head vigorously, completely baffled.
Meanwhile, the House of Zhao's private troops had already assembled. Mr. Charles Zhao Sr. led the imposing force, marching toward the Magistrate's Mansion in the faint light of dawn, exuding murderous intent.
Along the way, the early-rising townsfolk caught sight of the Zhao family's men and hurried to hide, not daring to make a sound. Fear gripped their hearts: What now? Who has angered the House of Zhao and faces extermination?
The people could only sigh inwardly, wondering which unfortunate family was about to suffer disaster.
The House of Zhao ruled Anchester with an iron fist. Anyone who crossed them—never mind the law—would be wiped out in an instant. The common folk could only seethe in silence.
Mr. Charles Zhao Sr. and Justin Zhao led the way. Justin Zhao gritted his teeth in hatred, his eyes gleaming with malice. He spat, "That Hayes brat, today I'll show you who's the real power in Anchester! Hmph, I hear Queen Lily of Qin is quite the beauty. Once I slaughter that Hayes, I'm going to take that queen for myself and have a good time!"
The Zhao father and son surrounded the Magistrate's Mansion with tens of thousands of troops. The main gate was tightly shut, not a single guard in sight.
With his family's army backing him, Justin Zhao was brimming with confidence. He shouted at the gate, "Hayes, your time is up! Come out and die! Hmph, today I'll skin you alive, rip out your tendons, eat your flesh, drink your blood, and make sure you die a miserable death. Then I'll drag that delicate Queen Lily of Qin here and make her serve me in bed!"
As soon as Justin Zhao finished, Mr. Charles Zhao Sr. and the troops burst into raucous laughter, each one wearing a lewd, malicious grin.
Justin Zhao burst into wild laughter: "I've had my share of women, but never a noble lady from the imperial court. Now the Queen of Qin is delivered right to my door—who knows what she'll be like? Tsk tsk, just imagining that highborn woman under me gets my blood boiling! Hahaha!"
As he spoke, Justin Zhao's eyes glazed over, already picturing himself atop the Queen of Qin. He swallowed hard, his mouth watering with anticipation.
Just as Justin Zhao finished speaking, the doors of the Magistrate's Mansion slammed open with a thunderous bang.
Two lines of black-armored soldiers filed out in perfect silence, lining up neatly on either side of the gate.
At the center of the gate, Alexander Hayes emerged in a fitted black robe, his eyes brimming with murderous intent, advancing step by step.
Each step he took seemed to carry the weight of a thousand pounds—not just landing on the ground, but crushing the hearts of every member of the House of Zhao. They felt their breathing grow labored, an inexplicable fear rising toward this young, cold, and deadly man.
Alexander Hayes stepped out of the mansion, his gaze icy as he looked at Justin Zhao. "Justin Zhao, I had no intention of provoking a conflict with the House of Zhao, which is why I spared your life last night. But since you insist on courting death, you have no one to blame but yourself."
Justin Zhao was utterly smug, bursting into wild laughter. He boasted arrogantly, "Last night you were despicable, sneaking an attack with your troops. But today is different! I've brought tens of thousands of soldiers, while you have only a few thousand. Even if you have the title of 'God of War,' you simply don't have enough men to stand against the House of Zhao. If I want to destroy you today, I will! If you know what's good for you, get on your knees and beg for mercy, call me 'grandfather' a few times, and hand over your delicate wife to my bed. If she serves me well, maybe I'll show some mercy and let you die with your body intact!"
