"Looks like you already know, young lady."
I nodded in agreement. I’d heard about this before from Yin Choujian. Everything Quentin Kwan experienced—whether intentional or otherwise—he told me in detail, including the entire history of Purelands.
So when Quentin Kwan took his wife and daughter to Purelands, the situation there was probably not as dire as it would later become. At that time, Lord Bark was likely maintaining order among the animal ghosts.
Now Quentin Kwan continued speaking.
"When we arrived at Purelands, it wasn’t long before Lord Bark discovered us."
I made a sound of agreement and listened as Quentin Kwan went on.
Quentin Kwan originally thought they were doomed—being discovered by such a powerful Green Wraith. But Lord Bark didn’t expose the father and daughter’s human identities. Instead, he welcomed them, seeming to like humans, chatted with them at length, and even offered to escort the whole family to the nearest ghost market.
This left Quentin Kwan astonished. He gladly accepted Lord Bark’s kindness, but then Lord Bark took him aside to a quiet place.
"At that time, Lord Bark asked me what I would do once we returned to the living world. Because of my wife and son’s unique experiences, reintegrating into human society might be difficult—especially for my son, Eli Lear, whose physical condition was a concern. I understood what Lord Bark was getting at, so I ultimately accepted his advice."
In the end, Lord Bark personally escorted them out of the Ghostrealm. Back in the living world, Nina Li laughed with excitement, though she feared her husband might return to the Ghostrealm. Quentin Kwan decided to stay with his wife and son.
