This Never Ends All Day Long

Evan Xiao glanced at her; she was radiating pure joy and energy from head to toe.

Was she really that happy just to see him?

He said nothing and went inside.

"General, it rained just yesterday, so the roads must be muddy, right? Look, your shoes are all wet." Grace eagerly followed him into the inner room, carrying a pair of shoes. "Here, please change into these!"

"Mm." Evan Xiao responded with a grunt.

"Let me help you change," she offered, reaching out to undress him.

Her sweet scent invaded his private space before he could react. Evan Xiao's blood surged, and he quickly turned away to dodge her hand. "Out."

Grace left the room, dejected. "Oh..."

Evan Xiao took a deep breath, changed his clothes and shoes, and left the inner room.

As soon as he stepped out, he saw Lily Bai's bright smile. "General, you must be thirsty, right? I've already made tea for you, and it's just the right temperature."

"Give it here!" He really was a bit thirsty.

Grace handed the tea to him.

As he took it, their fingers brushed.

Her soft, warm fingers barely touched his—just a fleeting contact, but Evan Xiao felt his heart skip a beat.

He looked at Lily Bai, who immediately glanced away, guilty, her cheeks flushing. The finger that had touched him unconsciously rubbed against her thumb.

Evan Xiao drank the tea and slammed the cup down on the table with a "bang!" Then he turned and walked away.

......

All day long, Grace kept finding ways to tease and tempt him.

While grinding ink, she deliberately splashed a bit onto his hand, trying to wipe it off for him.

But he said he'd do it himself.

While Evan was practicing martial arts, Grace noticed sweat on his forehead and handed him a handkerchief.

Then, she pretended to stumble and fell straight into his arms.

Unfortunately... he blocked her with his spiritual power, and she didn't even touch the hem of his clothes.

......

Although she didn’t succeed, Grace wasn’t discouraged.

At least, no matter how much she teased him, he didn’t have her dragged away for a beating anymore!

Compared to when she first entered the manor, things were so much better!

At night, she kept up her teasing.

Seeing that the light in his room stayed on late, she knocked and went in to bring him a midnight snack.

"General, I noticed you didn’t eat much tonight. It’s late and you might be hungry. Would you like some supper?" Grace asked with a smile.
