Chapter 1039: The Charred Scar

Most others weren't skilled in alchemy—at best, they knew the basics. So the title 'Worldshaper' meant little to them; they couldn't grasp how difficult it truly was. But in Skyhold Fortress, every mage was required to master alchemy as intimately as their own magic.

A mage’s standing was directly tied to their alchemical skill—sometimes even more than magical prowess. Skyhold Fortress had two Worldshapers; one of them was only a Fifth-Rank Title Archmage, yet his status rivaled that of Sky Rank mages.

Not far away, Rafael’s face was full of awe as he answered Diras’s question.

"Archmage Leon is indeed a Worldshaper. He’s the most gifted person I’ve ever met. In a few decades, he might ascend and become the youngest Saint Alchemist in history."

Rafael grew solemn, abandoning any trace of doubt.

But Diras looked utterly incredulous, his voice rising in disbelief.

"No way! He’s just trying to slack off. There’s no way a Worldshaper can use four crystal quills at once..."

Leon didn’t even glance at Diras. His expression remained calm as he nodded to Rafael.

"Rafael, we don’t have time to waste. We need to move as fast as possible..."

Rafael nodded. For a true Worldshaper, inscribing alchemical runes and formulas was basic work—his speed and accuracy far outstripped any Master Alchemist.

Only a vast foundation of knowledge could guarantee both speed and precision; it had nothing to do with mere hand speed.

Leon nodded, gripping a crystal quill in each hand, while two more hovered beside him under remote control.

He cast Extreme Mental Agility and Acceleration on himself. Instantly, countless runes began to flash in his eyes.

In a blink, Leon’s hands became a blur, and the two remote-controlled crystal quills turned into flickering phantoms.

A flood of runes, alchemical formulas, and intricate patterns poured out, dense as a river in spate.

His speed was terrifying—several times faster than all four Skyhold mages combined!

Rafael was instantly dumbstruck—not just him, but everyone else too.

Rafael stared at Leon inscribing formulas, as if witnessing a living god or demon.

Damn, is this even humanly possible?

A Worldshaper could move at such speed—not only had Leon cast Extreme Mental Agility, but he’d also enchanted his hands with Acceleration.

Damn, is his hand speed actually lagging behind his mind? And at this insane pace, every line was as neat as a textbook—are Worldshapers really this powerful?

Every alchemist knew: what limited their speed was always how fast they could think, not how fast they could write. That was supposed to be an ironclad truth—until now. Watching Leon shatter that truth, Rafael felt as if the world had changed. He’d always been proud to be a Master Alchemist...

But after seeing this, he’d never dare call himself a master again. It was just embarrassing...

Everyone from Odin Kingdom stared in stunned silence as Leon’s alchemical formulas erupted like a geyser—ten seconds passed, not a sound.

Joey, Heron, and the Skyborne Sword Saint were all surprised, but more than that, they were proud.

Compared to Odin Kingdom, Andalusia Kingdom was hopelessly behind—especially in alchemy. Odin’s mages always looked down on them. But now, someone from Andalusia had stunned even the Odin crowd with his alchemical mastery. That old resentment finally found release.

Diras opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but found he couldn’t. Watching Leon’s performance—more art than magic—any words would just humiliate himself.

Before he could speak, Rafael shot him a fierce glare.

"Diras, focus on your own job."

Diras snorted, saying nothing as he walked to the mouth of the valley, taking over from the Shadow Tower mages and continuing to channel mana into the Shadow Cloak.

With Leon personally handling the runes, the most time-consuming task had become the fastest. The others could barely keep up with the speed at which he inscribed formulas.

In less than twenty minutes, Leon finished inscribing every alchemical formula himself.

The three alchemists from Skyhold Fortress gazed at Leon with reverence—after all that rapid work, multitasking with four quills, his formulas, runes, and patterns were textbook-perfect. Many sections had even been refined and improved.

The most complex parts had been distilled into something simpler—and somehow, even more effective.

In the world of alchemists, respect was earned by strength alone—nation and faction didn’t matter.

Once Leon finished inscribing, he joined the setup of the alchemical array, doubling the team’s speed.

In under half an hour, the array was complete. If not for waiting on the Burning Tower’s retreat, they could’ve activated it right away.

Five minutes later, Dida La arrived at the valley, guided by the magical beacon.

The alchemical array activated, its runes swirling across the ground. A gigantic array, hundreds of meters wide, erupted with a terrifying surge of magical power.
