Chapter 393: Destruction
"Damn it, run! Run! You've gotten yourself into big trouble!" Anderson's frantic voice kept coming from within the Arcane Wheel.
In an instant, the sky was shrouded in dark clouds, thunder rumbled, and fierce winds howled. The world seemed to darken abruptly, and magical fluctuations surged like boiling water. An invisible force rolled and churned within the valley.
Leon knew that this was the power of the ancient gods and demons awakening. The terrifying pressure was almost tangible, making it hard for him to breathe. It was the most overwhelming force Leon had felt since arriving in this era.
Too terrifying...
Even when he barged into the Apocalypse Plane and saw the corpses of countless terrifying beings, Leon had never felt such pressure. After all, corpses are just corpses, but now he was facing the true power of ancient gods and demons...
This was the most terrifying power in the entire Northend. Even a mere remnant of it far surpassed what Leon could possibly withstand.
"Get out of here, now!" Anderson's voice was filled with terror. This kind of power was utterly destructive for a Relic Spirit—even the Arcane Wheel, now at True Spirit level, could not withstand the ancient gods and demons. If the Arcane Wheel was destroyed, Anderson, fused with it, would cease to exist...
For a Relic Spirit, this meant death!
"There's no way out..." Leon shook his head. As a mage, he was far more sensitive to these changes than Anderson, the Relic Spirit. At this moment, Leon could clearly sense that the entire valley was shrouded by the power of the ancient gods and demons. Even if he wanted to escape, he had no idea where to run.
"Damn it, damn it, damn it..." Prompted by Leon, Anderson realized they were now trapped with no escape. "I told you, the soul fragments of ancient gods and demons are the most bizarre, most sinister things in this world. I warned you not to touch them, not to touch them...!"
"Enough, shut up!" Leon cut off Anderson's frantic rambling, then turned to the terrified Leon Merlin. "Cousin Leon, take everyone and leave by the shortcut. I'll try to buy you time. In three days, let's regroup at the Turin Mountains!"
"But you..." Leon Merlin had never witnessed such power before and was utterly lost in fear.
"Don't worry, I have other ways." Leon patted Leon Merlin's shoulder, pocketed the dozens of magic crystals on the ground, then summoned Theo: "Theo, protect them."
"Yes, Master." Theo transformed into a ball of flame, slowly floating behind Leon Merlin.
"Then... be careful." Leon Merlin knew he couldn't help by staying, so he nodded and led the other three away from the forest clearing.
"Alright, Anderson, now it's up to our luck..." After sending Leon Merlin and the others away, Leon tightly gripped the Primordial Deity Soul Fragment in his hand...
"Just my luck..." Anderson's voice was full of regret. He had thought this young mage had unlimited potential and that following him would eventually restore Anderson's power or even grant him a new body, freeing him from his existence as a Relic Spirit.
But who could have guessed that this promising young mage was a magnet for trouble? Every time, he nearly scared Anderson to death. Just a few days ago, he fought a Level Five Sword Saint, and now he's awakened the power of ancient gods and demons.
If I'd known, I would've stayed in Vaughn's Alchemist's Lab and waited for someone else to come take me away...
