Unavoidable Help

1/4/2026

Back in Newport City, Cici and Rona Muir immediately threw themselves into skincare product research and the application process.

For three straight days, Cici and Rona worked around the clock, so exhausted that seeing a pillow felt like seeing their own mother.

Cici couldn’t hold out any longer and decided to go home for a shower and some rest.

Just as she walked through the door, her phone rang. Cici stared at the number for a long moment before realizing it belonged to Eric Jiang, the eldest son of the Jiang Family.

Cici answered the call while running her bath: "Hello, Eric, what can I do for you?"

Eric Jiang’s helpless voice came through the line: "Didn’t we agree to just call each other by our names? Why so formal?"

Cici chuckled, "Sorry about that. I only found out who you really were after we parted ways that day. I was a bit abrupt back then."

Eric didn’t want to dwell on it. He got straight to the point: "I know why you came to Newport City. There are only a few days left before Grandma Evelyn Yin’s birthday, and there’ll be a crowd on the day. You’ll probably only get a glimpse of your kids from afar, with no real chance to talk. Today, I’m taking them to the flower house to pick out flowers for the birthday party. The flower house is at the estate in the southern part of the city. If you’re free, you can come to the estate. I’ll clear out everyone else so you can have a proper reunion!"

Cici’s eyes lit up instantly!

Eric Jiang wants to help her see her two children?

Is it really possible?

Could she really see her kids ahead of time?

She’d watched them from afar before, but wherever they went, they were surrounded by bodyguards. She hadn’t even dared to approach and say hello...

All because she’d lost her memory.

All because she and Charles Yin were just exes now.

She didn’t want to make things hard for the kids, so she could only make things hard for herself.

Cici clutched her phone, so excited she didn’t even notice the bathwater overflowing.

"So... where should I meet you?" Cici was so nervous she could barely get the words out.

"Wait for my call. Once we’re out, we’ll swing by and pick you up." Eric smiled. "The flower house has lots of blooms—if you like any, take a few pots home. The orchids there have been cultivated for years and are finally ready to show off."

"How did you know I like orchids?" Cici blurted out.

"Just a guess." Eric Jiang swallowed everything else he wanted to say, leaving it at that.

Cici finally relaxed. "Alright, I’ll get ready. I’ll wait for your call."

After hanging up, Cici suddenly felt incredibly happy and excited!

She’d been separated from her kids for days—it really felt like every day dragged on forever.

She quickly showered, dried her hair, and picked out a tailored, casual outfit.

She was just going to see her sons, but she felt as nervous as if it were her first date.

Those two little buns—were they all better now?

Since the Yin Family let them out, they must have recovered, right?

Cici’s heart was already with her kids. She was so distracted packing that she didn’t even notice how scatterbrained she was.

Cici had thought about calling them, but the boys only gave her the house landline, not their cell numbers.

Actually, most of the time, their cell phones were with the bodyguards anyway.

If she called out of the blue, she’d probably be interrogated about her identity.

Right now, she and Charles Yin were barely more than strangers—what right did she have to call the kids directly?

If they asked who she was, how would she even answer?

Day and night, all she wished for was a chance to see them openly and legitimately.

She never expected to see them before Grandma Evelyn Yin’s 80th birthday. How could she not be excited?

Cici didn’t wait for Eric’s call—she was already waiting by the roadside, eager and early.

Just thinking about seeing her boys soon made Cici’s mood soar.

At that moment, a black Mercedes quietly slid around the corner and screeched to a stop in front of Cici. A man in black jumped out and lunged at her!

Cici screamed, "Who are you? Why are you grabbing me?"

The man in black didn’t expect Cici to react so quickly. He missed grabbing her and immediately swung at her.

Cici had dressed casually to see her kids, wearing sneakers.

Seeing the attacker go for her without a word, Cici didn’t hesitate. She turned and ran, shouting as she went: "Fire! Fire! Somebody help!"

Everyone says that when running for your life, don’t yell 'help'—yell 'fire!'

Sure enough, after a few shouts, plenty of people on the street turned to look at Cici.

The man trying to grab Cici saw she dared to run and shout, and got anxious, speeding up to chase her.

Cici heard the wind behind her and ran for her life. As she passed a trash can, she kicked it hard toward her pursuer!

Bang—the trash can was instantly kicked away by the man!

Seeing his fighting skills, Cici gasped in shock!

She was totally outmatched!

Cici fumbled for her phone, dialing someone in her panic without even knowing who.

She ran and screamed, "Help me! Someone’s trying to kill me!"

Just then, the man caught up to Cici, slapped her phone out of her hand. It flew into the street and was instantly crushed to pieces.

"Let’s see where you think you can run!" The man in black grabbed Cici’s arm and twisted it hard.

Cici tried to fight back, but the man raised his hand and chopped down hard on the back of her neck!

Cici felt the world spin, her vision went black, and her body lost all control...

Help... save me...

Charles Yin was holding his phone, still stunned by Cici’s call, when he suddenly heard her panicked screams and the sound of her phone smashing on the ground...

This is bad—Cici’s in danger!

Charles Yin jumped up from the conference room and rushed out. "Meeting's paused! Xiao A, notify Xiao Heng—come with me now! Block off all the surveillance and intersections near Cici’s residence. I want to know who dares to touch my woman!"

By the time Charles finished speaking, his veins were bulging and his teeth were clenched in fury.

Cici, don’t be afraid. I’m coming for you!

Don’t worry, I’ve got you!

The employees hadn’t even processed what happened before Charles Yin and his team stormed out of the office like a whirlwind.

Half-conscious, Cici struggled to open her eyes, but her eyelids felt so heavy.

The back of her neck hurt—a lot.

Oh, right. Just before she blacked out, a man in black knocked her out.

A man in black?

Cici’s heart clenched with fear!

If she was unconscious... then what about Eric Jiang and the kids...?

Cici forced herself to fight the overwhelming sleepiness and pried her eyes open.

As soon as her eyes opened, she saw a bright light overhead.

Instinctively, her eyes couldn’t take the glare, so she shut them again.

Once her vision adjusted, she slowly opened her eyes wider.

Cici tried to move, but realized her hands and feet were tied.

Damn it, what the hell is going on?

Who kidnapped me?

She’d just returned to the country—she didn’t have any enemies. Who could possibly want to kidnap her?

Just then, she heard soft footsteps outside the door. Cici quickly lay back down and shut her eyes tight.

The door creaked open and several people walked in.

"You brought her?" a strange man asked.

"Yes, just as you ordered. She was uncooperative, so we had to knock her out." Another man replied coldly, "Don’t worry, she’s just unconscious, not in any danger."

"Good." The first man sounded very pleased. "If this works, we’ll both get promoted and a raise. If you screw it up, you’ll be fish food! Take Miss Yun to the next room!"

Take her? Where are they taking her now?

Seriously?!

Who are these people? Why kidnap her? For money? She had some, but she never flaunted her wealth—no one knew how much she had.

For her looks? ...Well, she did have that.

For money and looks? ...Damn, she had both!

Wait, who did she call in her panic? Did they hear her cries for help? Would they come to save her?

For the first time, Cici regretted having so few contacts in her phone!

In her panic, she’d just dialed a random number.

What if she’d dialed 10086 by mistake?

Should’ve dialed 110 or 119!

Regret, regret, regret!

While Cici was lost in thought, she sensed someone approaching.

Cici instinctively flinched, then remembered she was supposed to be unconscious. She forced herself to stay still and breathe evenly, pretending to know nothing.

Luckily, they didn’t expect her to wake up early—or maybe they just didn’t care.

Someone came over and hoisted Cici onto their shoulder, carrying her out.

The person’s shoulder jabbed right into Cici’s stomach, almost making her throw up.

Damn it...

Cici squinted, watching as they quickly carried her out of the small room and into the corridor.

Within minutes, she was dumped into a much larger, luxurious room.

They tossed Cici onto the bed and said to someone else, "Go get the young master! This woman is for him!"
