Journey to Healer's Sanctuary

Morgan Shangguan chuckled softly. "I didn’t expect the Ghostmaster to be so concerned about his subordinates!"

Damien Gray’s eyes grew thoughtful, then suddenly lit up with understanding. He laughed quietly, "Morgan, are you jealous?"

Morgan paused, then reached out to pat his cheek and shook her head. "You’re overthinking!" She relaxed into his arms and asked, "Do you know what’s going on between those two?"

Damien replied nonchalantly, "I only know a little. I don’t meddle in their personal affairs. They’re my subordinates, not my slaves—they have their own freedom!"

Morgan stroked his chin and smiled. "No wonder Ethan Gu and Maxwell Jing are so loyal to you. The Ghostmaster really knows how to win people’s hearts!" She wasn’t one to pry into others’ privacy out of curiosity.

Damien smiled and placed his hand over her heart. "Does that include the Cloud Guildmaster’s heart?"

Morgan grabbed his hand, her expression calm and composed. "This Guildmaster will never be blindly devoted to you. Just wait for the Cloud Guild’s revenge!"

"Revenge?" Damien buried his face in the crook of her neck, unable to suppress a low chuckle. "So the Cloud Guildmaster is still unwilling to give in!"

Morgan lifted her eyes to the white clouds outside the window and sighed softly. "This really is the greatest blunder of my life. I didn’t end up capturing you—you captured me instead!"

"Ha!" Damien burst out laughing, unrestrained. Morgan quickly covered his mouth and reminded him, "This is my room!" If anyone heard the Ghostmaster laughing so loudly here, they’d surely find it strange!

Damien Gray took her hand and kissed her palm, shaking his head. "Morgan, you simply weren’t aware—it’s not my fault I acted first!" Unable to resist, he kissed her lips again. He truly found Morgan Shangguan more and more adorable, proof that he was delving deeper into her heart.

Morgan glanced at him, then just stared as if lost in thought. Damien’s face still held a smile as he gently stroked her cheek. "What’s wrong?" he asked.

Morgan suddenly said, "Damien, let’s have a daughter."

At her words, Damien didn’t say a word—he simply picked her up and carried her to the bed. Morgan narrowed her eyes. "Let her erase my greatest regret. I must bring home a good son-in-law!"

She couldn’t help but laugh softly. She’d never pictured her future before; what she saw was not gray, but pure white—untouched by any stain, devoid of any other color. But now, because of Damien Gray, that pure white had been dyed with new colors, painting countless beautiful scenes.

It wasn’t until she felt his weight on her that Morgan snapped back to reality. She pushed at him and laughed, "What are you doing? It’s broad daylight—someone might come by to curry favor with you!"

With the treasure at stake, everyone was especially vigilant. The moment the Ghostmaster threatened them, the righteous leaders obediently surrendered their pieces of the Treasure Map. What did that mean? It meant even these righteous leaders feared the Ghostmaster. So, the lesser figures began to cozy up to Damien Gray, hoping the Ghostmaster wouldn’t forget them and would let them share in the spoils. Damien found it all terribly annoying, and only after killing two people in a fit of rage did things quiet down.

Really, it was Felix Yu’s fault for inviting such a comprehensive crowd! He even brought in tiny sects with only a handful of members, terrified of missing any clue about the Treasure Map. But in the end, it was all unnecessary!

Damien nipped at her earlobe, his breath hot in her ear, voice low and seductive. "Fulfilling the Princess Consort’s wish for a daughter is the most important thing!"

Morgan raised an eyebrow. "What if it’s a son?"

Damien kissed her lips and mumbled two words, "Throw it away!"

Morgan glared and pushed him away forcefully. "Damien Gray, that’s your son!" she reminded.

Damien distractedly tugged at her clothes. "Then toss him to Maxwell Jing and Ethan Gu!"

Morgan didn’t know whether to be angry or amused. Truly, her subordinates were all-purpose—even taking care of children!

"Maxwell Jing..." A voice called from behind, and Maxwell Jing paused, but didn’t turn around.

Lucas Lu stepped in front of him, gaze fixed. "You’re Maxwell Jing, aren’t you?" He’d been watching Maxwell and Ethan Gu for days, growing more certain, and now came to confirm it.

At this point, Maxwell Jing was remarkably calm. He curved his lips into a smile. "What advice do you have for me, Junior Lucas?" Still as nonchalant as ever.

All these years, he’d deliberately avoided Healer’s Sanctuary people—not out of fear, but to spare Ethan Gu any trouble. He hadn’t changed his name because of what happened in the past; he simply couldn’t pretend it never happened.

Now sure he’d found the right person, Lucas Lu’s face grew cold. "If nothing’s wrong, why not take the Young Master back? Don’t you know how worried Master Gu and Madam Gu are? Everyone thought you two were dead!"

"Worried?" Maxwell Jing sounded as if he’d heard the funniest joke in the world. His smile widened, but his eyes were full of sarcasm. "Isn’t that exactly what they wanted?"

Lucas Lu froze, his tone softening a bit. "Back then, Master Gu only wanted to bring you home, not kill you!"

Maxwell Jing sneered. "That’s because he needs Ethan Gu to inherit Healer’s Sanctuary. He’s done too many heartless things—probably can’t have any other sons! If Ethan weren’t so capable, Galen Gu would’ve erased this shameful son long ago!"

Anger flared on Lucas Lu’s face. "How can you say that about Master Gu? If he hadn’t brought you into Healer’s Sanctuary, you might still be wandering the streets—or dead!"

Maxwell Jing didn’t intend to waste any more time. He said nothing, planning to leave.

But Lucas Lu refused to let him go. Blocking his way, Maxwell Jing stared at him coldly. "Move," he demanded.
