"Damn! You hit someone just because he told the truth? Evan Lin, are you crazy?" Someone stood up and quickly helped the person lying on the ground, only to jump in shock when he saw his face.
That plate had smashed right into his face, flattening his nose and leaving blood streaming everywhere—it looked brutal.
"Call the police! You’ll be paying for this!" someone shouted.
"Pay? Like he’s got money to pay! He’s probably headed straight for jail!" The short, dark-skinned girl was also startled and started yelling.
Hank Chu frowned off to the side: "Who told that guy to run his mouth?"
"I’ll pay! However much it is, I’ll cover it!" Ken Feng shouted from the side at that moment.
The room was in total chaos.
Raymond Rong looked at Evan Lin with disdain: "So you can hit people—big deal. And you need someone else to pay for you?"
Mandy Yu frowned: "Evan, you weren’t like this before."
Everyone on this side was all chatter and complaints.
May Wang had already rushed over, standing in front of Evan Lin with a face full of excitement: "Evan! I knew you’d be here!"
"May Wang? Aren’t you supposed to be at work today? How’d you end up here?" The short, dark-skinned girl was stunned when she saw May Wang, then noticed how happy she looked at Evan Lin and couldn’t help but frown. "May Wang, don’t stand with Evan Lin. He just made trouble—don’t let him drag you down with him."
"He hit someone and doesn’t have the money to pay. If he tries to borrow from you, don’t lend him a cent!"
The short, dark-skinned girl didn’t forget to remind her, still suspicious that May Wang and Evan Lin might be putting on a show together.
"Yeah! This time he’ll have to pay at least a hundred thousand!" shouted another person helping the injured boy, still glaring at Evan Lin like he was trying to stage an act.
A hundred thousand?
May Wang blinked, giving him a look like he was an idiot: "Evan Lin can definitely afford a hundred thousand, you know."
"I’m just here to give him his keys—otherwise I wouldn’t even be here. What’s wrong with you guys?"
May Wang looked puzzled. Evan Lin and his group sat calm as mountains, while the Whitewood County No. 2 High School crowd was in total chaos.
It was only then that May Wang noticed the boy lying on the ground, his face covered in blood. She quickly forced herself to stay calm, but from what everyone had said, she could tell it was probably Evan Lin who did it.
But deep down, she still had a pretty good impression of Evan, so she decisively took his side.
"Wait, did you say keys? What keys?" A girl on the other side was the first to react.
"Probably the keys to his getaway scooter, right?" Raymond Rong sneered, just watching coldly to see how Evan would crash and burn.
"Yeah, May Wang, aren't you selling houses now? What keys are you giving Evan?" The short, dark-skinned girl looked totally confused.
"It's for the Mooncrest Manor villas! Evan bought two from me a while back. We're rushing to connect the two units for him." May was still super excited talking about the sale.
She made tens of thousands in commission from that deal—solved her money troubles in one shot.
After she said it, she suddenly remembered Evan might not want people to know. She glanced at him nervously, but seeing his expression unchanged, she finally relaxed.
Mooncrest Manor villas?
He bought two at once?!
The noisy table went dead silent—everyone stared at Evan.
Ken Feng and Hank Chu opened their mouths, totally floored, wanting to ask a million questions but wisely kept quiet.
Mandy Yu and Raymond Rong saw everyone’s weird looks after hearing about the two Mooncrest Manor villas, and honestly, they didn’t get it.
Raymond frowned. "So what? Two houses? What, maybe a million tops? Why’s everyone freaking out?"
In Raymond’s mind, houses in Whitewood must be dirt cheap—a million could buy two nice ones, easy.
"Mooncrest Manor is all villas. Each one costs at least two million, but Evan’s location is prime—his two cost over six million, paid in full." May frowned at Raymond, "You want to buy one too, buddy?"
Six million plus!
Paid in full!
Everyone sucked in a breath.
Raymond was stunned, and when May finished, a bunch of people turned to stare at him.
In their eyes, Raymond was the classic tall, rich, and handsome guy—his BMW Z4 alone cost over half a million.
