Bound Together Through Life and Death

Quentin Hua threw an arm around his shoulder, scrutinizing him. "That's it? Aren't you being a bit too calm? Or are you jealous? Ethan Gu is hurt, you know!"

Maxwell Jing smiled and said, "I just suddenly feel that, actually, they suit each other quite well!"

Quentin Hua reached out to feel his forehead. "You don't have a fever, do you?" Seeing Maxwell Jing wasn't joking at all, Quentin Hua frowned, "Are you serious?"

Maxwell Jing raised an eyebrow. "Do I look like I'm not serious?"

Quentin Hua frowned even deeper. "You're giving up? What if Ethan remembers someday? Have you thought about that?"

Maxwell Jing lowered his gaze. "I've thought it through. He won't remember! Oblivion Elixir—forgetting the past, severing love, no cure!"

"If Ethan has truly severed all feelings, then even if he's with another woman, he won't find happiness!"

Maxwell Jing narrowed his eyes and spoke softly, "Only he knows whether he's happy or not. I can't decide for him." Since they're destined not to be together, he only hopes Ethan can find some happiness. He will respect his choice!

Quentin Hua weakly patted his forehead. It's over, this guy is stuck in his own head!

He doesn't believe Maxwell Jing could let go after all these years, just like that. So if he decides to give up, he'll only end up hurting himself in the end!

Ethan Gu saw the two of them muttering endlessly and couldn't help but say, "Are you two done yet? We need to go find the Sect Master now!"

Quentin Hua shook his head and sighed, "Let's go!"

Meanwhile, Morgan Shangguan and Damien Gray had already found Susie Yun and Ryan Ouyang. Susie was slightly injured, but thanks to Maxwell Jing's medicine, she wasn't poisoned.

"Guildmaster..."

Morgan Shangguan had just broken a formation when she heard a familiar voice.

Looking at the woman before her—disheveled yet still beautiful and gentle—Morgan Shangguan frowned slightly, "Marjorie, what are you doing here?"

Marjorie Wan's eyes lit up when she saw her, hurriedly saying, "Guildmaster, someone attacked the Cloud Guild. Claude Yun is injured!" Marjorie Wan and Claude Yun are both elders of the Cloud Guild.

Morgan Shangguan's eyes darkened, "How is Claude Yun?"

"He's not in danger, but his internal injuries are serious and he'll need time to recover." As she spoke, she glanced at Damien Gray beside Morgan Shangguan, but didn't mention that the Ghost Guild was in a similar situation.

The five elders of the Cloud Guild didn't know Morgan Shangguan's true identity, and all thought she was a man!

Morgan Shangguan's eyes grew thoughtful—who would attack the Cloud Guild at this moment? Could it be related to the person lurking in the shadows?

At this time, Damien Gray and Morgan Shangguan did not display excessive intimacy. Now that the conflict between the Ghost Guild and Cloud Guild was well known throughout the martial world, everyone brought their own emotional biases. Even if the two were at peace, there was a sense of hidden turbulence.

Besides these few people, there was one more present: Liu Feng, the master of Liu Manor. Liu Feng was talented, and though he was the master of a manor, he was just in his early twenties. His features were deep-set, not exactly handsome, but he had a certain charm.

He cupped his hands in greeting to Morgan Shangguan but ignored Damien Gray at her side. Morgan's gaze flickered as she noticed the closeness between Marjorie Wan and Liu Feng, frowning—not because of right or wrong, but because she simply didn't like Liu Feng!

She felt Liu Feng was not good enough for Marjorie Wan!

Morgan Shangguan ignored the dangerous environment and called Marjorie Wan aside.

Marjorie Wan looked at the person standing quietly before her, still as ethereal as a goddess even in such circumstances, and asked puzzledly, "Guildmaster, is there something you want to say to me?"

Morgan Shangguan glanced at Liu Feng, then back at her, asking calmly, "Do you like him?"

Marjorie Wan hadn't expected her to ask such a direct question, but although gentle, she was still a person of the martial world. A little shy, she didn't deny it, and nodded.

Morgan Shangguan said quietly, "I don't want to interfere too much in matters of the heart. I just want to remind you—Liu Feng isn't suitable for you. But if you insist, I won't stop you. Just don't let emotions cloud your judgment. I can't tolerate betrayal."

She knew that matters of the heart couldn't be forced. If she tried to break them up, it would only push them closer together. Love is between two people—she had no right to judge, nor much interest in others' relationships, but she still had to give a reminder!

Marjorie Wan nodded seriously and said, "I'll think it through carefully. Thank you, Guildmaster!"

The closer they got to the Inner Valley, the more dangerous it became. In the end, the group was separated. Damien Gray frowned, "This isn't working. Even if we find them, we'll just get separated again. Let's go into the Inner Valley and see—maybe there's a way to break all the arrays at once!" Most of the others were probably dead by now!

For the treasure, every sect sent their best disciples, but now, even before seeing the map, they've suffered heavy losses. Who knows if their leaders will regret it!

Morgan Shangguan nodded, took his hand, and walked forward, shaking her head with a gentle laugh, "Being with you, I just can't feel nervous at all."

In the past, even these dangers wouldn't faze her, but she would handle everything with caution, never allowing any mistakes. Now, she felt completely relaxed—maybe she trusted Damien Gray too much!

Seeing the poisonous miasma ahead, Ethan Gu frowned. Quentin Hua, ever blunt, thrust his hand out, oblivious to courtesy. Ethan generously handed him a pill, then gave one to Yuna Ye. After thinking a moment, he slipped a thumb-sized jade pendant to Maxwell Jing—its red and black colors flashed by. Quentin Hua saw it clearly; he recognized that kind of pendant! Looking to the heavens, then the earth, he sighed and muttered, "That favoritism is way too obvious!"
