To prevent any unexpected incidents with the unaware Young Master, Xiao Zetian also sent Xiao Yun along.

Su Li and Xiao Zetian stood by the door, watching the two ride off.

Up front, Li Yanhao rode Xiao Zetian's warhorse at full speed, deliberately showing off his riding skills in front of Su Li, so he rode like the wind.

Behind him, Xiao Yun struggled. Though he was a skilled horse archer, his horse wasn’t as fast as Li Yanhao’s, so he pushed himself to the limit to keep up.

When Li Yanhao finally left Xiao Yun far behind, he was ecstatic and, a bit overconfident, shouted back, "Hahaha, country bumpkin, if you’ve got the guts, try to catch me! If you do, I’ll let you... hehe!"

Xiao Yun’s face darkened as he flicked his whip. "Don’t get cocky! Just you wait, I’ll catch you yet!"

Li Yanhao laughed heartily, urging his horse forward like the wind.

The two raced, one chasing the other. Li Yanhao flaunted his superior riding skills, leaving Xiao Yun far behind. Little did they know, their chase looked exactly like Xiao Yun chasing a cheating scoundrel.

Su Li looked at them with sympathy. "Ah, poor country bumpkin."

Villagers working in the fields saw the Young Master and the country bumpkin out again, but this time they were riding horses, one running ahead and the other chasing.

The villagers muttered, "Tsk, the Young Master and the country bumpkin really know how to play their little game."

Qingmiao City Inn.

Li Yanhao hurriedly arrived at the inn, where Green Luo was already waiting outside.

Green Luo was sweating profusely, anxious to the point of desperation, thinking, "If General Xiao doesn’t come, Princess Mingyu will be furious and take it out on me."

From afar, Green Luo spotted two riders approaching. The handsome young noble up front looked noble and distinguished, and the person behind him appeared to be a formidable guard.

As a maid from the Kingdom of Chu, Green Luo had never seen Xiao Zetian in person, but since she served Princess Mingyu in the military, she had seen Xiao Zetian’s warhorse from afar.

So Green Luo immediately recognized that the handsome young noble was riding none other than General Xiao’s warhorse!

"Ah, General Xiao is here!" Green Luo was overjoyed, her anxious heart finally at ease. She quickly called two guards to stand at the door, then rushed upstairs and burst into the room where Princess Mingyu was pacing anxiously. "Princess, it’s wonderful! General Xiao has arrived!"

"Really! He... he really came to see me!" Princess Mingyu’s cheeks flushed crimson as she covered her face. "I knew it, General Xiao has a cold face but a warm heart. We’ve crossed swords on the battlefield many times; he must have feelings for me, he’s just not good at expressing them."

Green Luo smiled brightly and nodded. "Yes, as soon as General Xiao heard you were ill, he hurried here! I was just outside watching—General Xiao rode so fast! It must be because he’s deeply concerned about your health, so he came without stopping!"

"Yes, yes, it must be!" Princess Mingyu was so excited she felt like she could fly, her mind filled with images of the heroic and extraordinary war god general she’d seen on the battlefield!

"Quick, close the windows and draw the curtains! I’m seriously ill right now!" Princess Mingyu hurriedly ordered Green Luo to draw the curtains, and the room quickly dimmed.

Princess Mingyu quickly shed her outer robe, revealing a thin, sheer long dress underneath that left little to the imagination, perfectly showcasing her curvy figure.
