The entire morning was devoted to internal meetings organized by the hosts.

At this meeting, they would discuss the bids from twenty-six companies and the speeches given during yesterday's session, then vote to select the final winner.

This was the best solution the organizers could come up with.

There was no other way—too many people had the authority to make decisions at a company like this.

Unlike private or joint-stock companies, where the boss or board makes the call, here both those with real power and those without all have a say in the vote.

Rona Muir had complained about this to Cecilia Gu more than once.

Cecilia Gu completely agreed with her.

“Honestly, their company wouldn’t be in this mess if it weren’t for unclear ownership and vague responsibilities. Too many outsiders with power ruined a perfectly good factory and pushed it to bankruptcy.” Rona Muir had said this to Cecilia Gu before.

In fact, this is a common problem with many old factories.

It’s just like a family-run business—over time, there are always some dead branches that not only fail to help but actually drag the whole company down, even infecting the healthy parts, until the entire tree rots and dies.

Everyone understands this, but whether anything gets done about it is a whole different story.

Many companies are tangled in complicated relationships—move one part and the whole thing shakes. You can’t cut here, can’t touch there.

And so things get more and more bloated, slowing everything down.

Until eventually, the whole business collapses.

In short, it’s always for one reason or another that things end up like this.

Still, the person running this factory is capable and bold. Even though they couldn’t save the business, they managed to keep the brand alive for years, built up a loyal following, and even earned national recognition, support, and investment to protect this brand and give it new opportunities.

Otherwise, there wouldn’t be so many companies—including Danni Cosmetics—rushing in, making the competition so fierce.

In business, nobody’s a fool.

Everyone acts calm on the surface, but when it comes time to stab someone in the back, no one holds back.

Some of these bids are full of backstabbing—like the Chow Family and Danni Cosmetics.
