So What If I Fight the Heavens

1/5/2026

"Stop! Stop right there! I am Justin Qin, patriarch of the Qin Family of Jinling. If anyone dares touch my son, I'll wipe out your entire city!" Sure enough, the real Jinling overlords had finally arrived, and leading the pack was none other than Justin Qin, peak Earth-Tier Void Realm.

Justin Qin's words were straight-up insane. Most people would threaten to wipe out your whole clan—he just casually threatened to wipe out the whole city.

Everyone around instantly backed off. Just a moment ago, seeing Ryan Ling fight back again, the judges were all fired up inside—every one of them wanted to see that psycho killer Quentin Qin get wrecked.

But now, with Justin Qin suddenly crashing onto the scene—and three more Earth-Tier Void Realm elders from the top clans backing him up—who the hell would dare make a move?

These guys were the real powerhouses of Jinling, the absolute icons of the city. Hell, you could even call them the supreme beings of Jiangnan.

Tons of Jinling locals saw the five of them show up and just dropped straight to their knees.

To these folks, Quentin Qin was like a sea dragon—while these five were straight-up gods from the heavens.

"Kid, I don't care how strong you are, today you're dead!" Quentin Qin couldn't stop Ryan Ling, but as soon as he heard his dad's voice and saw all the top-tier uncles and elders roll in, he instantly relaxed.

Now, nobody from the Jiangdong Team dared say a word. These were Jinling’s top-tier legends—the ones who, according to the rumors, could show up like literal gods. Any one of them could step in and shut down a Middle Eastern war just like that.

Two countries could be locked in a blazing war, but if these guys showed up, they could squash it in one move. That’s why people called them the ‘Gods of Jinling.’

And they've been holding down Jinling for years—their reputation is off the charts!

Right now, everyone knew it: Ryan Ling was seriously in trouble. He’d pissed off these guys, and if he wasn’t careful, he was toast!

But Ryan Ling didn’t look like he was letting go at all. The dude wasn’t scared in the slightest—he just kept throttling Quentin Qin, not loosening up one bit.

"Damn, Ryan Ling is basically the role model for our whole generation!" someone in the crowd couldn’t help blurting out.

"Shhh! Shut up! You say stuff like that now, you trying to get yourself killed?" An old guy next to him instantly slapped a hand over his mouth.

Right then, Justin Qin’s berserk aura blasted straight into the arena, and he roared, "You little bastard! Still not letting go? You really wanna fight the heavens?"

His voice was so loud it shook all of Jinling. But Ryan Ling didn’t back down—he just casually raised a defense to block it.

"Is he nuts? He—he’s actually fighting Justin Qin head-on? That’s literally fighting the heavens!" People all around stared, jaws on the floor. Nobody expected Ryan Ling to have guts like that.

You gotta realize, Justin Qin’s power is insane—he’s worth a thousand Quentin Qins easy. At peak Earth-Tier Void Realm, if he kicked you, he could literally punt a whole island into the ocean.

"Ryan Ling!" Right now, his bros and his girlfriend were sweating bullets—nobody expected the top elders to just crash the tournament. Sure, he’d stomped all over fairness, but this was Jinling. These guys were ‘gods’ here. No matter what they did, who’d dare stop them?

And that's exactly why Jinling gets to take home the championship every single year!

"Kid, you seriously don't know your place—Break!" Justin Qin shouted, and Ryan Ling’s defense instantly shattered.

There was zero suspense—Justin Qin’s peak Earth-Tier aura surged out and, in a blink, totally locked down Ryan Ling’s.

Calling it ‘locked down’ is being polite—it was straight-up sealed!

Quentin Qin finally let out a sigh of relief and rasped, "Father, kill him—kill him! If this guy lives, I’ll never be able to show my face in Jinling again!"

Not that Justin Qin needed the reminder—his killing intent was already sky-high.

"Master Qin, please—calm down!" The organizers and head referee rushed over. Some were Jinling locals, some from Yanjing, all pretty influential in the Martial Arts Tournament scene.

"Master Qin, Ryan Ling’s the champion now—he’s even a national hero! Please, I beg you, go easy on him!"

"Master Qin, you’re the most respected elder in Jinling. You wouldn’t stoop to the level of a kid, right? Besides, technically, the match isn’t even over yet!"

"Exactly! Master Qin, let us handle this crisis and resolve things peacefully. We promise nothing will happen to your son..."

...

"You want to resolve this? You idiots? I’m declaring Ryan Ling a demon—he’s not even qualified to be champion. Not only is his title canceled, he’s getting executed right here!" Justin Qin finished speaking and slapped everyone who tried to plead for mercy, sending them all flying.

The whole arena erupted into chaos. Nobody expected these so-called 'Gods of Jinling' to actually go for the kill on an eighteen-year-old kid—right here, right now!

Everyone just stared at each other in shock, and as soon as Justin Qin finished, the other four Earth-Tier elders closed in and surrounded Ryan Ling.

"Looks like I’m not getting out of this, huh?" Ryan Ling glanced at the five middle-aged men eyeing him like prey, and suddenly thought of his parents. From that mysterious iron chain Quentin Qin had earlier, it was obvious—the true culprits behind his parents’ deaths had to be in Jinling, maybe even these guys right here.

Back when he was weak, nobody cared. But now he’d just snatched the Jinling Martial Arts Tournament championship, his reputation exploding nationwide. Of course they knew his next move would be to hunt down the truth about his parents—so they decided to strike first and take him out.

Honestly, that made perfect sense!

Earlier, Ghost Elder said he only had a thirty percent shot, but Ryan Ling insisted on staying for the fight—just to finally get at the truth. By playing weak, he could make them drop their guard and maybe spill the info he needed.

"Damn right. Kid, today’s your death day!"

"Let go of Quentin Qin now and I’ll make your death quick—no suffering!"

"I know you’re smart—just play along, and we won’t hurt your friends!"

...

The Earth-Tier elders nearby gritted their teeth, glaring at Ryan Ling with eyes full of killing intent.

"Guess I’m done for this time. But before I die, I just want to know—were you the ones who killed my parents?" Ryan Ling’s eyes flashed as he asked straight up.

No point beating around the bush—just ask, and you might actually get answers.

The Earth-Tier elders froze, not expecting Ryan Ling to ask that. They all turned toward Justin Qin.

Justin Qin was stunned for a second too, but then he burst out laughing—half a minute straight—before sneering, "You just won’t let it go, huh? Well, since you’re dying anyway, I’ll tell you. Yeah, we did it. To be precise, it was the Qin, Fang, and Shen families working together. But your parents aren’t dead—they’re being tortured day and night. We’re turning them into the strongest Saint Pill ever. Satisfied now?"

Hearing this with his own ears, Ryan Ling was totally stunned, his rage boiling over. The parents he’d dreamed of for ten years had really come to Jinling—and they weren’t dead. But the suffering they went through was a thousand, ten thousand times worse than death!

"My parents were just honest farmers—what could they possibly have that’s worth the three strongest clans in Jinling teaming up? And why go about it so sneakily?" Ryan Ling fought to keep his fury in check as he pressed for answers.

"Since I’m telling you today, I’ll spill everything—so you die knowing. Your parents were idiots, went up the mountain for wild veggies and dug up a thousand-year-old Saint Fruit Tree. That thing’s crazy rare—a Heaven-Tier expert who eats a Saint Fruit has a real shot at reaching the Saint Realm. But your folks just ate them like regular greens. So we had to grab them, throw them in a special cauldron and boil them alive. The Saint Fruit was so strong, it took ten years to squeeze out all the essence and finally make the Saint Pill!" Justin Qin bragged, sneering twice. "Ten years of work, and today we finally get results. Your parents are about to croak—those two morons keep muttering ‘Ryan Ling, my child’ every day. Surviving ten years is a miracle, but since you showed up, I’ll send all of you to hell. If you can’t reunite in the living world, I’ll make sure you reunite in the underworld! Hahaha!"

Right then and there, hearing the whole truth, Ryan Ling completely snapped...
