"That’s right, I’m the one and only Butterfly Rogue—the guy with legendary lightness skill, too handsome for any official to ever catch, charming, dazzling, and absolutely irresistible!" Butterfly Rogue flashed a grin and looked Lucian up and down. "What’s with that jealous look? Seriously, I never thought that plain woman could land a bunch of hottie husbands like you guys!"
Lucian Vane let out a cold laugh. "What’s it got to do with you?"
"How is it not my business? I’m the one who set the whole thing up! If I hadn’t helped, that ice-block would never have gotten a chance to sneak into her room." Butterfly Rogue piped up, trying to buddy up to Lucian.
Lucian’s face darkened immediately. "So you’re the one who was causing trouble just now?"
"Uh... what’s with that look?"
"What look? The look that’s about to kill you." Lucian snapped, and in a flash, lunged forward to attack him.
Butterfly Rogue yelled, "Hey, why the fight? Aren’t we all gonna be one big family soon?" Ugh, this venomous snake always goes straight for the kill!
"Family? In your dreams." Lucian Vane snapped, not even realizing why he was this angry.
Maybe it all started the moment he saw Adrian Night walk into Ivy Shen’s room. Poor Butterfly Rogue just happened to show up at the worst possible time, making himself the perfect punching bag.
"Ow! That hurts! Don’t think you can just bully me because I don’t know martial arts!" Butterfly Rogue dodged left and right, but honestly, who cares about fighting skills? His lightness skill was in a league of its own. If he wanted to run, he’d bet nobody in the world could catch him.
"Eliminating evil in the name of justice!" Lucian Vane went all out, every move ruthless and aggressive, tossing out a high-minded excuse while he taught Butterfly Rogue a lesson.
"Hey, quit it! That hurts! If you keep hitting me, don’t blame me for fighting back!" Butterfly Rogue yelled, totally fed up. Why were all Ivy’s husbands so hot-tempered?!
With a whoosh, Butterfly Rogue bounced lightly onto the treetop. Just as Lucian was about to leap after him, Butterfly Rogue shouted, "Don’t even think about coming up here! You know my lightness skill’s unbeatable. If you chase me, I’ll just fly off and you’ll never catch me!"
Lucian Vane glared up at him, eyes still blazing with fury.
"Hey, what’s your problem? I’m Ivy’s Number Five Husband now! Even if you’re her big brother, you shouldn’t treat me like this! Seriously!" Butterfly Rogue pouted, rubbing his squashed handsome face.
"You think you’re qualified to join?"
Butterfly Rogue was having none of it. "What do you mean, not qualified? I’m so ridiculously good-looking, I could make the heavens weep and the ghosts cry!"
"Good-looking? You’re about as handsome as a pile of cow dung. With those shifty eyes, you’re not even worth one of my toes!" Lucian Vane shot back, sharp as ever.
"Hey, what’s your problem, venomous snake? You’re the real cow dung! And your toes? Ha! Look at you—so pretty it’s downright confusing! You think you’re hot stuff? Please, you’re basically a she-man!" For Butterfly Rogue, insulting his looks was unforgivable!
Lucian Vane instantly lost his cool, whipping out his green serpent tail and aiming it right at Butterfly Rogue. This guy dared call him a she-man? With looks like his, Butterfly Rogue wasn’t even worth a fart, yet he still dared to act cocky!
So today, Lucian Vane was absolutely determined to teach Butterfly Rogue a lesson he’d never forget!
"Oh crap, you’re Green-Tail?! The Green-Tail clan are total poison masters!" Butterfly Rogue shouted, scrambling away.
Lucian Vane smirked. "Lucky for you, I didn’t bring my full poison kit today."
"Wait, seriously?"
"But I did just finish developing a new laxative." Lucian smiled at him. "Feeling a little stomachache, thief?"
"You—When did you poison me?!" Butterfly Rogue clutched his belly, face twisted in pain. His yellow tail popped out from the strain, and he freaked out. "How much did you dose me with, you venomous snake?! If my tail’s showing before the diarrhea even starts, your potion must be insane!"
"Not much, not much. At worst, you’ll be half-crippled from diarrhea." Lucian Vane said, totally casual.
"You—you freak! Mark my words, Butterfly Rogue will get revenge for this!" he howled, yellow tail trailing behind as he bolted into the night.
Seeing that, Lucian Vane finally felt a little better. He glanced sideways at Ivy Shen’s window, then vanished into the darkness himself.
