Joe Di brought his Ranking Token to the place where Skyveil Tokens were distributed. He had given his own Skyveil Token to Tyler He, so if he wanted to enter the Skyveil, he naturally needed to use the Skyveil Token that Tyler He had won.
"You want to claim a Skyveil Token?" The person distributing the tokens was a middle-aged female cultivator. She looked up at Joe Di, not quite convinced, and asked again.
From her experience, those who came here to claim Skyveil Tokens were always affiliated with major powers; rogue cultivators would never come for a Skyveil Token. Even if a rogue cultivator qualified for one, they’d never make it this far. It was an unwritten rule. Joe Di didn’t seem powerful and was unfamiliar—how could he show up with a Ranking Token as a rogue cultivator to claim a Skyveil Token?
"That's right, I want to claim a Skyveil Token," Joe Di repeated.
The middle-aged female cultivator kept examining the Ranking Token over and over. Joe Di grew impatient and said, "Can I claim it or not? If I can't, I'll go ask the steward."
"Yes, yes..." the middle-aged female cultivator hurriedly replied. She put away the Ranking Token and handed a Skyveil Token to Joe Di.
Joe Di snatched the Skyveil Token and snorted, "Next time, be quicker with your work."
"Heh, just a disciple from some minor cultivation family, and you dare act so arrogant in the Skyveil!" A Foundation Establishment stage six cultivator sneered, staring mockingly at Joe Di.
Joe Di scoffed, "Arrogant is exactly what I am. If you've got the guts, I'm right here waiting for you—come on."
After saying this, Joe Di even pulled out a chair and sat down in the corner of the hall, his words and actions brazen to the extreme.
"Scum! Only someone as shameless as you would steal a Skyveil Token from a rogue cultivator." A female cultivator couldn't help but curse out loud upon seeing Joe Di snatch a Skyveil Token and then brazenly pull out a chair to provoke the other cultivators.
Joe Di thought to himself, are there really people who stand up for justice here? Daring to publicly call him out as a bully? Normally, those who snatched Skyveil Tokens would be the local bullies. He was acting just like one of them.
"Melody Qin, mind your words... There are many sects here that are no weaker than ours. Don't provoke them." Because Joe Di noticed the woman who spoke, he also heard someone beside her send her a voice transmission.
So this woman was named Melody Qin. When Joe Di got a good look at her, he couldn't help but silently praise her beauty.
Ever since the Kingdom of Ji, he’d met countless beauties—whether it was Zhen Man, whom he once admired in Ji, or Shen Ziyu, his fiancée on Earth, or Zeng Beizi, Yu Jie, and even the recently acquainted Jing Mo Bing—all of them were beautiful. Yet compared to Melody Qin, each lacked something indescribable.
Melody Qin possessed a natural, unadorned beauty; any more curves would be too much, any less would be too little. Her willow-shaped brows were completely natural, Joe Di was sure she hadn't done any grooming. Her skin wasn’t snow white, but rather as smooth and creamy as polished jade, making her look extremely pleasant.
Her long hair was tied into a simple cultivator’s bun, adding a sense of approachability.
Joe Di stood up and walked over. The reason he hadn’t left was because he saw the Foundation Stage One cultivator he’d beaten half to death earlier. Now, that cultivator was accompanied by three others, one of whom was likely at Foundation Stage Nine. No need to ask—Joe Di knew they were all from the Mariner Alliance. If he left now, it would mean a direct confrontation with the Mariner Alliance.
Joe Di wasn’t afraid of these people, but with the Skyveil about to open, he didn’t want unnecessary trouble. Once the Skyveil opened, if the Mariner Alliance still tried to block him, he wouldn’t hesitate to kill them. After all, he could just enter the Skyveil right after. With his current aptitude, advancing to Gold Core after entering the Skyveil shouldn’t be a problem. Once he reached Gold Core, even the Mariner Alliance would probably think twice about provoking him.
"What's your name?" Joe Di walked up to Melody Qin and asked in a playful tone.
Right now, he was someone who had stolen a Skyveil Token from a rogue cultivator, and also a 'second young master.' If he didn’t stand up to Melody Qin’s words, that would be a real problem. As for acting arrogant here, Joe Di knew fighting wasn’t allowed in this place. The more arrogant he acted, the less afraid he seemed of being investigated.
Besides, this wasn’t the first time he’d acted arrogantly. Back in Pearl City of the Kingdom of Ji, he’d been even more brazen. The only difference was, back then it was real arrogance; now, it was just for show.
Melody Qin snorted coldly and stepped forward, speaking calmly and confidently, "Melody Qin, disciple of Trueblade Sect. It was me who mocked you just now."
Joe Di was a bit surprised; he had no fondness for the Trueblade Sect. Not only had they been the first to reject him as an outer disciple, but he’d also met two Trueblade Sect disciples—Wang Zheng and Jing Mo Bing—neither of whom left a good impression.
That’s why, in his eyes, the Trueblade Sect was a trash sect. What surprised him was that such a sect had produced a righteous disciple like Melody Qin—who happened to be so beautiful.
"Fellow Daoist, the Trueblade Sect is one of the top sects in the Northern Domain. Junior Sister Melody Qin is direct by nature—please forgive her. If you’re set on causing trouble, the Trueblade Sect won’t back down." The man who’d previously advised Melody Qin stepped forward, cupping his fists to Joe Di and emphasizing the sect’s strength.
It seemed he knew this place was the edge of the Aurora Continent, and there were plenty of sects stronger than Trueblade Sect here. Even among those snatching rogue cultivator tokens, several factions were no weaker than Trueblade Sect. So his words were still polite.
"Trueblade Sect? Never heard of it. Since you’re fairly pretty, I’ll let you off this time. Otherwise, we’d have come over in force—even if your Trueblade Sect’s Void God cultivator showed up, so what?" Joe Di chuckled and, still putting on a show, circled Melody Qin, clicking his tongue and saying, "Junior Sister Yin, how about becoming my dual cultivation partner?"

The air seemed to chill instantly, as a cold, murderous aura seeped from the sword behind Melody Qin—she looked ready to strike at any moment.
"Junior Sister Melody Qin, don't—if you must act, don't do it here!" The male cultivator beside Melody Qin called out urgently.
If a fight broke out here, even if the Trueblade Sect Master showed up, it wouldn’t end well.
Melody Qin was only a Foundation Stage Three disciple—starting a fight here would be suicide.
Melody Qin suppressed her urge to strike, exhaled, and her expression calmed. She glared coldly at Joe Di but said nothing more.
Joe Di grinned and waved his hands. "If you don't want to, that's fine—no need for blades and swords. My heart's pounding like a startled deer."
"Looks like you’re lucky to have survived this long," Melody Qin said coldly, no longer angry but still staring at Joe Di.
Joe Di chuckled, "Haven't you heard, Junior Sister Yin, that luck is a kind of strength too? I'll work hard to catch up to you and make you my Dao companion."
With those words, Joe Di didn’t wait for Melody Qin to retort, but turned and walked away.
No one would suspect he was just a second-generation scion from a cultivation family anymore. Besides, his reason for staying in the hall was clear now—he was smitten with Melody Qin.
Sure enough, after Joe Di sat back down in the corner of the hall, everyone in the hall looked as if they suddenly understood. With a beauty like Melody Qin, it was no wonder so many men wanted to pursue her. For a second-generation scion like Joe Di to be interested and stay behind was perfectly normal.
......
"That guy’s interested in that woman—it looks like he won’t be coming out anytime soon." A Foundation Stage Three cultivator from the Mariner Alliance glared at Joe Di’s spot, speaking with resentment.
"Who is that woman?" asked the most powerful cultivator among the Mariner Alliance members.
"Her name is Melody Qin, from the Trueblade Sect in the Northern Domain. Her master is at Seventh Level Soul Ancestor. Half a month ago, a Golden Core cultivator tried to attack her in the Skyveil, but her master killed him on the spot. Now, many people are watching her, probably with the same idea—planning to seize her pure essence in the Skyveil." A Mariner Alliance cultivator quickly answered.
"In that case, we'll wait here. When the Skyveil opens, I refuse to believe he won't come out." The highest-ranked Mariner Alliance cultivator nodded, speaking with murderous intent.
