The sword-light was saturated with dense Law power, flooding madly into his body. Not only did he not resist, he actively guided the Law power inside.
However, just relying on chaos mist made it difficult to quickly digest all this Law power, so Ian directly activated Chaos Aura.
Chaos Aura was a form of energy far superior to Law power.
In the face of Chaos Aura, that Law power didn’t stand a chance.
What if Chaos Aura was used for attacking?
But Ian had no intention of doing that—Chaos Aura was just too precious to waste in battle!
Watching Ian swallowed up by the sword-light, Ethan Zhou didn’t attack further; he was waiting for Ian to beg for mercy.
But as time passed, Ian inside the sword-light showed no sign of surrender. In fact, Ethan noticed the Law sword-light seemed to be weakening quite a bit.
"What’s going on? He’s just a Golden Immortal—how could he possibly dissolve my Law sword-light?"
Ethan Zhou was baffled. After a moment, he called out, "Young Master Song, just admit defeat. If you surrender, I’ll dispel the sword-light right away. Don’t risk your life over stubborn pride!"
"Noisy!"
Ian’s disdainful voice rang out from within the sword-light: "Attacks at your level are nothing but a tickle to me!"
"In that case, Young Master Song, why not stay in there a little longer!"
Ethan Zhou sneered, convinced Ian was just putting on a brave front—he planned to humiliate him once he finally begged for mercy.
In a flash, half a cup of tea’s time went by.
The Law sword-light enveloping Ian had already shrunk by a third. Ethan Zhou finally sensed something was wrong. Then, to his horror, all the remaining sword-light suddenly collapsed into a single cluster and was swallowed whole by Ian.
"Heh! Didn’t I say your Law power couldn’t hurt me?" Ian shot Ethan Zhou a mocking look, but inside he was thrilled—refining all that Law power had instantly yielded over five hundred new strands of Chaos Aura.
"Impossible!"
Seeing Ian swallow the Law sword-light, Ethan Zhou looked as if he’d seen a ghost. How could a Golden Immortal possibly devour his Law sword-light? Even Profound Immortal experts wouldn’t dare casually absorb someone else’s Law power—after all, every person’s Law carries unique traits, and even Law power of the same attribute can’t simply be fused together.
"I told you, that bit of power was just a tickle. Why not hit me with some more?" Ian looked at Ethan Zhou, eyes burning with anticipation. If he could refine another five hundred strands of Chaos Aura, he was confident his soul would undergo a massive metamorphosis.
By then, it would be time for him to break through to Profound Immortal.
"I don't buy it!"
With a furious shout, Ethan Zhou swung his flaming Law sword again and again, unleashing dozens of fire-infused sword beams that erupted forth, forming a Law Sword Formation. Even the void inside the Law domain was scorched with countless cracks.
Ian, standing right in the middle, just laughed. "That sword formation packs a little punch, but it's still not enough!"
As he spoke, he opened his mouth and swallowed several sword beams.
Inside, the Chaos Aura vortex spun rapidly, and in a breath, those sword beams were broken down and refined into over two hundred strands of Chaos Aura. The vortex also grew much larger.
"Hit me again!"
This time, Ian swallowed eight sword beams in one go and instantly converted them. His Chaos Aura count broke past a thousand, and the vortex expanded again.
"Huff, huff!"
The next moment, he opened his mouth and drew in all the remaining Law sword beams.
Ethan Zhou’s eyes nearly popped out at the sight.
Meanwhile, the Chaos Aura inside Ian surged past eighteen hundred strands.
"Got anything stronger?"
Ian shot Ethan Zhou a look as he asked.
Ethan almost choked in frustration. Just forming that Law Sword Formation had burned through at least half his fire Law power—it’d take months of cultivation to recover.
After a long moment—
Ethan finally sighed. "Young Master Song, how about we call this duel a draw?"
"No way! Either you admit defeat, or you keep attacking me!" Ian shot back, firm as ever. If he didn’t wring Ethan dry, he’d be letting his own scheming go to waste.
Ethan snapped, "Young Master Song, I admit I can't hurt you, but with your Golden Immortal cultivation, you can't hurt me either!"
"Oh, really? Then let me show you what I can really do!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Ian Song stepped forward, instantly closing the gap to Ethan Zhou and throwing a punch.
Bang!
Ethan countered with his palm.
But the result was Ethan being blasted hundreds of meters away, and cracks appeared in the yellow earth Law armor covering his body.
"What?!"
Ethan couldn’t believe it and launched a counterattack!
Ian greeted him with a cold laugh and hammered his fists out.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Fist after fist landed in quick succession. Cracking sounds rang out from Ethan’s body, and the yellow earth Law armor shattered, dissolving into motes of Law light that faded into the void.
"Chaos Aura really is amazing!"
Those two attacks had only used up a single strand of Chaos Aura, yet Ethan, a peak early-stage Profound Immortal, couldn’t fight back at all. Normally, Ian hated to spend Chaos Aura, but after earning so much from Ethan, he figured he ought to give a little back—otherwise, he’d feel guilty.
"Ready to admit defeat?"
Ian eyed Ethan playfully. "Without your Law armor, I doubt you could even take a single punch from me!"
Ethan’s face changed dramatically. In the end, unwillingness and fury flashed in his eyes as he said, "I concede!"
"Since you’ve admitted defeat, stick to the contract. Don’t make me wait too long!"
As soon as Ian finished speaking, he vanished in a flash, leaving Ethan battered and furious.
Back at the estate, Ian headed straight into the Divine Temple.
He gathered a thousand strands of Chaos Aura into his sea of consciousness and activated his cultivation art, accelerating his soul’s absorption.
One day!
Two days!
Five days!
Ten days!
Three months later.
His soul had absorbed all one thousand strands of Chaos Aura and was beginning to transform.
Ian couldn’t control the soul’s transformation; all he could do was wait.
Another three months passed, and his soul completed its metamorphosis.
After the transformation, his soul became even stronger, fully indistinguishable from a real person. At the same time, a new soul-based divine ability emerged—Phantasm.
This ability, called 'Phantasm,' could create illusion realms so real that any being at his cultivation level couldn’t escape its influence.
With a single thought, Ian stepped out of the Divine Temple.
With his soul transformed, the Law power he used to only vaguely sense now appeared incomparably clear. If he wished, he could draw Law power from the void into his body at any time.
Ian laughed heartily, "Perfect! From now on, I won’t have to burn through so many immortal stones just to condense Chaos Aura!"
Now that I can clearly sense the Immortal World’s Law power, it’s finally time for me to break through to Profound Immortal.
