Sky-High Items

After leaving Lyric Hall Auctions, Evan Chu didn’t head back right away—instead, he made his way over to the nearby Valorcrest Auctions. Running into an auction event like this was a rare opportunity, and he needed to bid on a few things for himself.

Stepping into Valorcrest Auctions, Evan felt like he’d walked into a casino—there were crowds everywhere, and the huge reception hall was packed with several lines of people waiting to consign their items.

Evan casually picked a line and queued up at the back. He wasn’t in any rush—everything else was settled, and now it was just a matter of seeing whether Valorcrest Auctions would surprise him.

“I heard someone’s auctioning off an Earth-grade martial technique this time. Wonder if that’s true.” Evan overheard someone ahead of him say.

“Earth-grade techniques are rare, sure, but I heard someone’s auctioning off a sixth-grade pill. Now that’s crazy.” another person chimed in.

All kinds of chatter kept drifting into Evan’s ears, but none of that stuff seemed very useful to him. If something like Heavenward Spirit Water or a Sacred Snow Lotus showed up, then he’d actually be interested.

The line slowly shrank, one person after another being called away—some even got led off to other rooms, clearly because their items were too valuable to show in public.

Evan waited nearly an hour before it was finally his turn. The receptionist was a girl in her early twenties, sweet-faced and friendly.

“Are you looking to buy or consign?” the girl asked directly.

“I’ve got something to consign. Would you mind arranging a private room for me?” Evan smiled.

The girl glanced Evan over and said, "Please follow me!" She left the counter, and another girl immediately stepped in to take her place.

She led Evan to a spacious room, but there were several people inside, busy discussing the items they’d brought.

Evan smiled, "If this is the kind of place you’re offering, forget it—I’ll just head over to Lyric Hall Auctions. At least there, I won’t be ignored like this." With that, he turned to leave.

"Wait—do you know how much your items are worth in Starstones? This room is for consignments valued between one hundred and one thousand. If yours are worth more, I’ll make other arrangements." The girl explained, her tone still sweet and unbothered by Evan’s threat to leave.

"Oh? Then where’s your highest-tier room?" Evan asked, looking straight at her.

"That would be our auction master’s room. Only a handful of consignments over the years have qualified for it. I doubt your items reach that level." The girl didn’t seem bothered by Evan’s stare—in fact, she looked rather proud, clearly an expert in this field.

"Is your auction master here?" Instead of boasting about his items, Evan asked directly, a bit unexpectedly.

"If your items really qualify, I’m sure the master will meet you personally. Do you know how much your consignments are worth in Starstones? If not, Valorcrest Auctions has professional appraisers who can help assess their value." she replied.

"Alright, then take me to see your appraiser." Evan figured this would be the best way to catch the auction master’s attention.

Soon, Evan was led to a small private room. Inside was a middle-aged woman, who glanced up as Evan and the receptionist entered. "Here to have something appraised?" she asked.

"This gentleman says his items are valuable and would like Aunt Ruby to appraise them," the receptionist said.

"What is it? Show me. If it’s worth over ten thousand Starstones, appraisal is free; if not, there’s a fifty-Starstone fee. Are you okay with that?" Aunt Ruby said.

"Take a look. I’m pretty sure it’s worth at least ten thousand." Evan replied, pulling an Ice Crystal out of his storage ring.

The moment the Ice Crystal appeared, the temperature in the room dropped sharply. Aunt Ruby’s face flickered with surprise—but the expression vanished just as quickly.

"That Ice Crystal you’ve got would go for anywhere from thirty to eighty thousand Starstones on the market. No appraisal fee needed."

Evan kept quiet, but the receptionist spoke up. "Your item isn’t valuable enough for the auction master’s room. Please follow me."

"Wait, I’ve got more." Evan said, pulling out a Fire Crystal. Aunt Ruby’s excitement was obvious this time. Evan grinned, "How much is this one worth?"

"That Fire Crystal should fetch anywhere from two hundred thousand to five hundred thousand Starstones. If the bidding gets heated, it could go for as much as eight hundred thousand," Aunt Ruby said.

"Still not enough for the auction master’s room?" Evan asked.

"You need an item worth at least a million to qualify. Yours are rare, but they don’t meet the threshold," the receptionist explained, sounding noticeably friendlier than before.

She never expected this young man to possess such valuable items—these should rank among the top five lots in this auction.

Evan immediately took out another item and said, "I wonder how much this one is worth in Starstones?"

Aunt Ruby was visibly stunned by the item in Evan's hand, then excitedly said, "Quick, take this gentleman to the auction master's room."

The receptionist was also shocked—this was the first time she'd seen Aunt Ruby so nervous. She asked, "His item qualifies for a meeting with the master?"

Yes... that's right! Go quickly!

Only now did the receptionist truly take Evan seriously—she hadn’t expected him to possess something worthy of meeting the master. This was a huge surprise, since none of the items in this auction so far had qualified.

"Sir, please come with me!" Her attitude instantly became gentle and respectful—a complete 180-degree change.

Evan followed the girl deeper inside, turning several corners before stopping at a doorway. "Sir, the master is inside. Please wait a moment while I announce you."

The girl knocked on the door and said, "Master, a gentleman has brought an item worthy of meeting you. He’s waiting outside!"

After a moment, a bell-like voice rang out from inside: "Let the gentleman come in!"

Hearing the voice, Evan felt a hint of enchantment and was surprised—could the auction master at Valorcrest Auctions really be a woman?

Evan immediately pushed open the door and walked in, only to see a young girl wearing a black veil quietly watching him.

"Are you the client with an item worth a million Starstones?" the girl asked directly.

Evan nodded, "That’s right. Are you really the master of Valorcrest Auctions?" He was clearly surprised by the veiled girl's identity.

"Show me your items. Maybe I can help you get what you want," the girl said directly.

Evan was startled—how did she know what he wanted? Could she read minds? Just then, Luna’s voice suddenly rang out in his head...
