Fallen Avatar of Heaven Duke

"His eyes..."

The young people aboard the tower-ship couldn't help but be shocked. They strained to peer into the depths of the radiance, trying to glimpse Heaven Duke's eyes, yet all they saw was light—nothing else could be discerned.

Ling Yuxiu murmured, "This ship has been flying for two days just to see the full shape of Heaven Duke's eye—how enormous must his true body be?"

"It should be about the same as Tu Bo, the Earth Sovereign."

Quinn said, "I've seen Tu Bo's true form. His horn is made up of countless destroyed worlds—just his horn alone is vast beyond imagining. These primordial gods possess abilities and divine arts ordinary beings can't even conceive of."

Chi Creek said, "If you could see the full shape of Heaven Duke, you'd see that his body contains countless suns."

The radiance was blinding. The tower-ship sailed on beneath Heaven Duke's gaze; though they traveled at great speed, his eye was so immense that after two days and nights, when Quinn and the others looked back, they could only barely make out the outline of that eye.

An eye radiating boundless light blocked their sight entirely; before this eye, stretched across heaven and earth, the tower-ship was but a speck in the sea—utterly insignificant.

Yet even so, they still couldn't see Heaven Duke's true form.

Quinn was marveling at the sight when, all of a sudden, the Golden Willow Leaf pasted to his brow seemed to be brushed by a breeze and slipped down from his forehead.

Startled, he hurried to catch the Golden Willow Leaf, but at that moment, he suddenly sensed something drilling into the vertical eye at his brow.

What slipped in seemed like a ray of light, vanishing as soon as it entered his eye.

Quinn, suspicious and uneasy, cycled his Primordial Spirit to search all around, but found nothing unusual within his third eye.

"Did I imagine it?" he wondered, picking up the Golden Willow Leaf and sticking it back onto his brow.

But deep within his third eye, sealed layer upon layer, a vast continent floated in the darkness—this was his Qin Clan jade pendant, its mountains forming the shape of the character 'Qin.'

Above the continent, a great Buddha's voice boomed, Buddhist chants swirling, trying to pacify and suppress the ferocious being sealed within by Tu Bo, the Earth Sovereign.

Just then, a beam of light shone in, illuminating the dark continent. The light darted about in midair, circling the 'Qin' seal again and again.

At the center of the 'Qin' seal, an enormous infant lay there in utter boredom, clutching his own toes and sucking on them, babbling as he played.

This infant was Fenix Greenwood Keane. He pulled his toes from his mouth, glanced at the swirling light, and suddenly bared his fangs, revealing a mouthful of sharp teeth: "Big guy, what are you staring at? Keep looking and I'll eat you!"

"Naturally, I'm staring at you."

The ray of light shrank into a ball, and from within came an aged voice: "Such an interesting life... For Youdu to produce an evil spirit like you, it seems Tu Bo's hold over Youdu has weakened quite a bit."

Fenix Greenwood Keane stood up, clapping his hands and leaping, trying to catch the ball of light.

The ball of light dodged away, saying, "I am Heaven Duke of Profound Capital, a deity equal to Tu Bo. You can't do anything to me. I only came to take a look at you, this curious little creature..."

Fenix licked his lips excitedly. "As big as that old Tu Bo? How long would it take to eat you?" With that, he hopped higher and higher, trying to grab the light, but the seal pressed him down and knocked him to the ground.

From within the ball of light, Heaven Duke's voice said, "So you're just a stubborn little ghost—no wonder you're sealed away. I only came to see you, now I'll be leaving."

Fenix kept hopping, relentless in his attempt to catch and devour him. The ball of light flew outward, but just then, a pattern of willow leaf appeared in the sky, blocking his way back. At the same time, demonic light and qi erupted from the 'Qin' seal, locking down the sky!

"Damn! I've fallen into a seal!"

The aged voice inside the light said, "Tu Bo went all out to seal him, even using his own horn. That willow leaf pasted on the eye can trigger the horn's power! I'm only a ray-avatar—I can't break out!"

Just as he spoke, the great Buddha's light flared overhead, linking the Golden Willow Leaf to Tu Bo's horn.

Heaven Duke's ray-avatar was instantly pressed down, falling into the 'Qin' seal on the continent. Upon landing, he transformed into an old man in white robes, with white brows, white beard, and flowing white hair. He gazed up at Fenix, muttering, "There's also the Great Brahma Buddha's seal... Of course, it's the Great Brahma who linked the Golden Willow Leaf and Tu Bo's horn, granting the willow leaf the power to trigger Tu Bo's seal, trapping me here..."

Fenix was overjoyed and immediately lunged at the old man in white robes.

Aboard the tower-ship, Quinn suddenly felt his brow swelling and aching, and quickly pressed his hand to it.

"What's wrong?" the First Ancestor asked with concern.

"My brow suddenly hurts a bit," Quinn replied.

The pain grew sharper, and Quinn's hand trembled uncontrollably. The First Ancestor quickly said, "Put your hand down—let me take a look!"

Quinn lowered his hand, and the First Ancestor immediately saw something rolling beneath the Golden Willow Leaf stuck to his forehead. Every so often, it bulged upward, shifting and moving underneath.

"Heaven-and-Earth Seal—Invert the cosmos!"

The First Ancestor shouted, pressing a seal gently to Quinn's brow. The seal art penetrated straight into Quinn's third eye, its force surging through, transforming into a world-flipping palm that descended from above, knocking Heaven Duke's ray-avatar back down as it tried to break through the seal.

The seal fell—sky was no longer sky, earth no longer earth. The Qin-shaped continent flipped over, and Heaven Duke's ray-avatar let out a muffled groan, pressed beneath it.

The First Ancestor withdrew his hand and asked with concern, "How do you feel now?"

Quinn exclaimed in surprise, "It doesn't hurt anymore—really, the pain is gone!"

The First Ancestor smiled, "That's the beauty of the Heaven-and-Earth Seal. Train diligently, and don't let my teachings go to waste."

Quinn agreed and ran off to cultivate his Primordial Spirit with Ling Yuxiu. The First Ancestor sighed, looking forlorn.

Inside the third eye, Fenix eagerly dashed over, grabbed Heaven Duke's ray-avatar by both legs, and wildly smashed and flung the old man around, leaving him dazed. Then Fenix straightened him out and took a big bite.

"Huh, no taste?"

Fenix looked puzzled; the part he'd bitten off was just a ball of light, completely flavorless. He tossed the old man aside, quickly losing interest.

The old man got up, rubbing his back, his whole body aching. But he was just a ball of light—after being bitten, he'd soon recover!

"Why don't we play hide-and-seek instead?"

Fenix perked up again, clapping his hands and running over on his short legs, piping, "You hide and I chase. If I catch you, I'll tear off your arms and legs! You can grow them back, so we can play for a long time!"
