Can't You Control Yourself

12/2/2025

Everyone took their seats, eating and drinking with great joy.

Everyone present was cultured and refined; many even wrote birthday verses for their classmate’s sixtieth birthday—truly elegant.

As Su Li and the others happily celebrated their classmate’s birthday, Lola, who had been quietly sitting beside them, suddenly tugged gently at Su Li’s sleeve, glancing toward the stairs.

Su Li followed Lola’s gaze and saw the hem of a pale yellow skirt—her heart sank: this couldn’t be good!

Just as Su Li was about to turn away, Princess Mira in her pale yellow gown appeared at the stairway corner. The moment she spotted Su Li, her eyes sparkled with wild, pink, heart-shaped delight: "Professor Jade Evans!"

Her shout made everyone on the third floor turn to look at Princess Mira.

The moment Princess Mira saw Professor Jade Evans, her lovestruck symptoms flared up. She lifted her skirt, itching to throw herself into his arms—she looked ready to consummate the marriage right then and there.

Lola immediately and discreetly stepped in front of Su Li, calculating whether, if Princess Mira really dared to pounce on her lady, she should just kick the princess down from the third floor.

Seeing this, Lila, who was following behind Princess Mira, thought, Oh no—Princess Mira’s lovesick spell has struck again. When that happens, she loses all self-control and is bound to do something utterly embarrassing.

Lila quickly clung tightly to Princess Mira’s waist and said, "Your Highness, please calm down, calm down! Everyone’s watching!"

But Princess Mira was in the throes of her lovesickness and couldn’t care less—her mind was set on cozying up to Professor Jade Evans.

"Let go of me, you wretched maid!" Princess Mira cried, frantically trying to tear at Lila’s hair. Lila yelped in pain but stubbornly refused to let go.

Everyone on the third floor stared in shock as the girl in the pale yellow dress and the maid in green tussled and scrapped—hardly the dignified scene their elegant attire suggested.

The crowd was stunned. Someone from the academy whispered, "That girl in the pale yellow dress is Princess Mira of Chu, owner of Suxin Pavilion and fiancée to Prince Ling."

Everyone suddenly understood—so she’s the future Princess Ling!

Yet the future Princess Ling, flushed and starry-eyed, stared straight at their own Dean Jade Evans, her voice so sweet it could melt butter: "Professor Jade Evans, Professor Jade Evans, you’ve finally come to Suxin Pavilion for a meal! Are you here for me? It’s been so long—I bet you missed me! Where do you live? Can I visit and learn math from you? I’ve waited so long at the inn for you, why won’t you come see me? I truly want to study math, Professor, please teach me! I admire you so much—do you like me too?"

Her daring, barefaced confession left the refined scholars so stunned their jaws nearly dropped.

This was a royal princess, yet her boldness outdid even the most brazen courtesans!

But isn’t she Prince Ling’s fiancée?

Tsk, looks like Prince Ling’s been cuckolded!

Su Li’s face twitched in disbelief. She just couldn’t understand—didn’t Princess Mira notice all these people? Why couldn’t she control herself? Every time she saw Su Li, it was like a hungry wolf spotting fresh meat. It was enough to make anyone pull their hair out.

Fortunately, Princess Mira now traveled with trusted attendants from the Crown Prince of Chu. At Lila’s urgent call, several guards rushed over and, after much effort, managed to drag Princess Mira away before she could embarrass herself any further.

Only after Princess Mira left did Su Li finally breathe a sigh of relief. But now, every gaze in the room was filled with sympathy for her.

Su Li felt as if a flock of crows was flying over her head...
