You Don’t Have the Guts

The newcomer spoke with a domineering tone.

"Is that Shawn Zhang?"

"Why is he standing with Yara Song?"

"Isn't Shawn Zhang the hottest young idol in the mainland right now? His career is at its peak, his popularity is through the roof. I didn't expect him to step up for Yara Song at a time like this."

Earlier, plenty of people here had already witnessed the conflict between Yara Song and Serena Tong.

Now, seeing Shawn Zhang step in and aim his sharp words directly at Evan Lin, quite a few people instantly understood what was going on.

This was obviously Yara Song bringing in backup.

"Are you seriously messed up or something?"

Listening to Shawn Zhang, Queenie Tong couldn't sit still any longer.

She frowned, glaring coldly at Shawn Zhang. "Do you even look at yourself before talking like that?"

"You really think you're handsome? Who gave you the face?"

Queenie Tong was standing up for Evan Lin.

Serena Tong's expression turned cold as she stared at Shawn Zhang. "Sorry, I don't know you, and I don't want you hanging around in front of me."

"If you don't mind, there are plenty of empty seats around. Please leave."

Serena Tong's words were crisp, leaving no room for argument.

She hadn't been as blunt as Queenie Tong, who outright cursed him.

But Serena Tong had always given people the impression of being aloof, as if nothing ever bothered her.

So now, when everyone saw Serena Tong stand up for a young man, the crowd looked at Evan Lin with even more surprise.

For those who already knew Evan Lin and Serena Tong's unusual relationship from earlier that afternoon, the surprise was understandable but within reason.

But for those who hadn't been present that afternoon, this scene completely overturned their expectations.

Gavin Yu sat quietly, not saying another word.

He watched Evan Lin with a grin, still hoping Evan would make another move.

Evan Lin had acted several times today, but Gavin Yu hadn't managed to catch any of his moves. He was itching with anticipation.

As for whether Shawn Zhang was allowed to be hit, or how he'd handle getting slapped down, that wasn't Gavin Yu's concern.

He had no intention of playing peacemaker.

"Serena, your words really sting."

Shawn Zhang looked at Serena Tong, genuinely surprised by her attitude. But he quickly adjusted his expression, sighed, and put on a show of sadness: "Honestly, before I debuted, I was your loyal fan."

"And Serena, if I'm being blunt, this guy isn't worthy of you."

"Don't let him fool you."

Shawn Zhang spoke earnestly, glancing at Evan Lin every now and then as he talked.

His eyes were full of provocation.

He was itching to rile Evan Lin up with his words.

But to Shawn Zhang's surprise, this kid's composure was way beyond what he'd expected.

It was as if Evan hadn't even heard him.

He just kept sitting there.

"And you, kid—"

Shawn Zhang curled his lip in disdain. "Serena is standing up for you right now, but you only dare to sit here like some turtle hiding in its shell?"

"A guy who only hides behind women—what kind of future do you think you'll have?"

"Not to brag, but I've seen plenty of men like you—guys who just mooch off women their whole lives, never striving for anything. And when trouble comes, you just hide behind them and act like nothing happened."

"The way you act honestly disgusts me."
