Secret of the Fifth Step

12/19/2025

Trirobe Sanctuary was as bustling as ever, as if nothing had happened. Those who knew of the incident believed that Joe Di had already been killed by Ruben Redlin of Trirobe Sanctuary.

Whether they knew of the incident or not, all cultivators in Trirobe Sanctuary were aware that a new cosmic Dao vein aura now circulated outside the Trirobe Dao Hall. Clearly, someone inside the Dao Hall was cultivating using the Dao vein. There was no need to ask who—it was Ruben Redlin, the Saint of Edict.

Ruben Redlin had never used a Dao vein for cultivation before, so why was there a Dao vein now? All he did was kill an outsider.

Although many cultivators knew Ruben Redlin was not to be trifled with, the cosmic energy leaking from the Dao vein still tempted some bold cultivators to secretly cultivate near the Trirobe Dao Hall.

Tianyuan Sanctuary.

This is the name of a place, and also the name of a person. In Hui Pang Domain, hardly anyone is unaware of Tianyuan Sanctuary's existence.

Back then, beneath Tianyuan Sanctuary was a middle-grade cosmic Dao vein, occupied by a sect of considerable size called the Yan Dao Sect. Within the sect, there were four Fourth Step Edict Saints.

The Divine Clan genius Tianyuan took a liking to the Yan Dao Sect's territory. He didn't even bother to ask the sect to vacate; he simply slaughtered all its cultivators. Rumor has it that when Tianyuan massacred them, not even a single ant escaped his wrath.

It should be noted that at the time, Tianyuan had not yet become an Edict Saint; he was only on the verge of that realm. Yet, even as someone on the edge of the Edict realm, he slaughtered four Edict Saints and countless elders and disciples of the Yan Dao Sect. This shows just how terrifying his strength was.

After Tianyuan exterminated the Yan Dao Sect, he renamed the place Tianyuan Sanctuary and stayed here ever since. In just a hundred years, Tianyuan used the middle-grade Dao vein here to achieve Edict Saint status and stepped into the Fourth Step.

Even when he was just a half-step into the Edict realm, Tianyuan destroyed the Yan Dao Sect, which had four Edict Saints. After Tianyuan became an Edict Saint, his power soared, and no one dared provoke him. Even sects with Fifth Step cultivators avoided such a person.

Even though there was a middle-grade Dao vein beneath Tianyuan Sanctuary, no one within ten million miles dared to siphon its energy. Those who could kill above their own cultivation realm were the most terrifying.

At this moment, a yellow-haired man descended from the void. When his divine sense swept over Tianyuan Sanctuary, his eyes lit up with joy. There was cosmic Dao vein energy circulating here, making it an excellent place to cultivate. He was right—any random spot here had a middle-grade Dao vein.

But before the yellow-haired man could continue searching for the Dao vein, a massive fist smashed down, accompanied by a cold snort: 'You’ve got guts, coming to my Tianyuan Sanctuary looking for trouble…'

With that punch, space was instantly compressed. The yellow-haired man felt his Dao rhythm nearly freeze. He was horrified—this was definitely a Fifth Step powerhouse. At this moment, he dared not hesitate; he summoned a giant seal and simultaneously formed several hand seals.

The violent aura of the divine ability erupted with the yellow-haired man's giant seal, clearly intending to use his technique to break open the compressed space around him.

Boom! The rules shattered, and endless divine energy roared in the compressed space. The yellow-haired man felt his body relax, but he felt no joy, for at the same time, he sensed the aura of death—one he could not escape.

Sure enough, before he could react, the massive fist in the void struck his chest.

The yellow-haired man's chest caved in like brittle crust struck by an iron hammer, the collapse spreading across his entire body…

“Eh…” With a surprised exclamation, the fist stopped tearing into the yellow-haired man's body. A tall, gray-faced cultivator landed before the yellow-haired man, his eyes brimming with uncontrollable joy.

“So it’s a perfectly rounded world comprehension… and the aura of mastery over all cosmic beings…” The gray-faced cultivator grabbed the yellow-haired man’s brow and suddenly burst into wild laughter. “Hahaha, have the heavens seen me stuck at the Fourth Step for too long and sent me the opportunity to comprehend the Fifth Step?”

The gray-robed man was none other than Tianyuan, the one who had destroyed the Yan Dao Sect. He had never imagined anyone would dare to use a teleportation talisman to enter his territory. Yet this intruder brought with him exactly what Tianyuan needed to step into the Fifth Step.

“Who are you? Why attack me for no reason?” The yellow-haired man’s eyes were filled with despair. If they were on the Chaos Skyship, everyone would know him—Reginald Saint.

Reginald Saint had never imagined his greed would land him in such a predicament. After entering this domain from the Chaos Skyship, he suspected it was a place filled with endless treasures. Now, with everyone starting from the same point, he had to quickly reach less crowded areas to gain more.

This idea led him to use a precious innate talisman. Unfortunately, he did not find a place with few people and many treasures; instead, he landed in Tianyuan Sanctuary and was subdued by Tianyuan with a single move.

Tianyuan sneered, “Since you’ve delivered yourself, help me step into the Fifth Step.”

What he lacked most for the Fifth Step was the sense of complete control over a vast universe, as well as the Dao rhythm of all things deriving within such a universe. Today he obtained both, and so easily. Now all he needed was to slowly strip away the yellow-haired man’s cosmic world and restore his own comprehension of the vast Dao.

With a long howl, Joe Di stood up. The Dao vein was barely depleted, and he had already reached the peak of the Third Step. In the Five Elements Universe, this was equivalent to the peak of the Creation Realm. He had entered the Creation Realm before, but compared to today, Joe Di realized it was a completely different level.

The Dao fire, now upgraded to a fourth-grade divine flame, floated quietly to one side, its hue a gentle lavender. It radiated a soft glow, without a trace of ostentation.

Joe Di extended his hand, and the Dao fire landed on his wrist, transforming into a delicate lavender flame mark.

During his hundred years of seclusion, no one disturbed him. Evidently, Ruben Redlin did not dare send anyone seeking revenge. Nor did Zhi Ji Youqiong show up at Trirobe Dao Hall.

Joe Di, however, did not intend to stay here any longer. He planned to leave Trirobe Dao Hall and explore elsewhere.

A red glow appeared at the teleportation array in the corner of the great hall, indicating that something had been sent over while he was in seclusion. Joe Di reached out, activated the array, and found an invitation inside.

It was an invitation for Ruben Redlin. Joe Di grabbed it, and the invitation fell into his palm. He had long known about this teleportation array and had never used it, but just as he was about to leave, he saw someone had sent an invitation to Ruben Redlin.

“Brother Ruben, Tianyuan of Tianyuan Sanctuary has already stepped into the Fifth Step and become a true Quintessence Saint. Back when he was at the Third Step, he killed four Edict Saints. Now that he’s reached the Fifth Step, I fear that apart from Sixth Step cultivators, no one in this domain can restrain him.”

Even more frightening, Tianyuan claims to have mastered the secret to reaching the Fifth Step and plans to sell it at the Grand Conclave of All Races. No one is allowed to copy it, and each transaction costs a Dao vein…

After reading the invitation, Joe Di frowned slightly. The secret to stepping into the Fifth Step?

Whether it was true or not, Joe Di decided to check it out. The invitation was sent by someone named Colin Dove, inviting Ruben Redlin to his Dao Fruit Gathering to discuss purchasing the Fifth Step secret.

Joe Di didn’t know Colin Dove and had no intention of attending the Dao Fruit Gathering. He planned to go directly to the Grand Conclave of All Races. First, Tianyuan would be there anyway, and he could afford a Dao vein. Second, he didn’t know Colin Dove, so attending would be awkward.

After tidying himself up, Joe Di’s Dao rhythm subtly shifted, and he transformed into Ruben Redlin’s appearance, striding openly out of the Trirobe Dao Hall.

Though he hadn’t killed Ruben Redlin, Joe Di wanted people to see what kind of person Ruben Redlin was. In others’ eyes, Ruben Redlin and he had entered the Trirobe Dao Hall together, but now Ruben Redlin emerged alone. Anyone with sense would know what kind of person Ruben Redlin was.
