Southern Frontier Anecdotes

Quinn Shepherd entered Dao Gate Academy, his face dark, eating a peach as he walked. He glanced back—the peach forest stretched on for ten thousand miles, peach blossoms deep within smiling at the spring breeze.

The woman in the peach forest was still there, living in seclusion from the world.

Yet Quinn Shepherd knew that Moon-Venerable would not remain in the peach forest forever. As soon as the time was right, she would surely reappear.

The peach forest was a peculiar multi-heaven. Its appearance within the Earth-Mother Origin World meant Moon-Venerable was unwilling to let go, still harboring thoughts of entering the world, not yet having severed her feelings for it.

Her teaching of Claudia Qi was clear proof of this.

Claudia Qi was her disciple, walking the world in her place, representing her wish to remain involved with worldly affairs.

Even more intriguingly, Claudia Qi had been recommended to Moon-Venerable by Southern Emperor Vermilion. She was deeply connected to Southern Emperor Vermilion and could also be called her disciple.

The inner circumstances of this were quite intriguing.

Quinn Shepherd gnawed his peach down to the pit, his eyes flashing with amusement. He thought to himself, "Heavenly Court keeps a Vermilion Emperor rune-jade slip in the Grand Archive, clearly meaning to replace Southern Emperor Vermilion. Back in the Supreme Sovereign Era, Southern Emperor Vermilion trained a substitute, eliminated the previous Red Emperor, and raised Claudia Qi to become the new Red Emperor. When Heavenly Court wanted to kill her, Southern Emperor Vermilion could fake her death and let Claudia Qi inherit her power. She lost nothing, simply shifting from open to hidden."
