Jay Kee's Reflection

1/4/2026

"Jay Kee, what happened today isn’t all bad," Mason Ming said to him. "Miss Yin scolded you, but that’s still better than getting blacklisted."

Jay Kee stayed silent, but he had to admit Mason Ming was right.

"Miss Yin is actually pretty nice. Sure, her words were harsh, but for her to come down and talk to you means she’s way better than someone like President Qin. With her status, she could’ve just crushed you and moved on. By blowing up at you, she actually let you off easy. You won’t get fired from the company!" Mason Ming said, still shaken.

Jay Kee turned away awkwardly and said, "I know."

"We should really find a new place to live," Mason Ming said, though he didn’t actually want to move out. He wasn’t stupid—living here was comfortable.

But after everything that’s happened, how could they possibly stay here?

Jay Kee said gloomily, "But where can we even go right now?"

Jay Kee gritted his teeth. "I’ll go apologize to Miss Miller! Maybe we can delay the move a bit. You still need to rest your leg!"

With that, Jay Kee rushed out so fast Mason Ming couldn’t even stop him.

Instead of heading straight to Cherry Miller, Jay Kee wandered into the park below their building, replaying tonight’s events in his mind.

Jay Kee really was a smart kid.

Most people his age would act on impulse.

They’d just rush in, not thinking things through.

But maybe because Jay Kee had been through some things as a kid, he was way calmer than most guys.

He didn’t go straight to Cherry Miller. He forced himself to calm down and think about what happened tonight.

He remembered the first day he met Cherry Miller and Yina Yin. The more he thought about it, the more problems he noticed.

But at the time, he’d been so caught up in his emotions, he couldn’t see the truth.

Actually, even though Yina Yin looked pretty androgynous, you could still tell she was a girl.

How could he have been so blind, thinking Yina Yin was just some pretty boy Cherry Miller kept around?

And then, when more and more good-looking, obviously well-off guys showed up, how did he not realize they weren’t just Cherry Miller’s kept men?
