Get Out, Wait Until You Kneel and Beg Me

"Serena, how is the Young City Lord?" The Crown Prince saw Serena Feng pressing down on Reid Yale's arm and hurriedly asked.

Serena Feng lifted her arm to wipe the sweat from her forehead, using the moment to catch her breath. "Your Highness, rest assured—Reid Yale will not die."

Serena made no mention of the antidote pill. 'An innocent man gets into trouble for his treasures.' Seeing the guards refuse the antidote, she realized these pills were not just 'precious'—they were extraordinarily rare.

The guards were sharp, too, and never mentioned the antidote. Still, in their hearts they envied those snake-bitten men—lucky enough to taste the Master of Mystic Healer Valley's antidote. Some even wished they'd been bitten themselves, just to try that priceless medicine.

"With Serena's assurance, I can rest easy." The Crown Prince subtly shifted responsibility onto Serena. If anything happened to Reid Yale, it would be Serena's fault for failing to treat him—reducing the Crown Prince's own burden.

Prince Rowan shot the Crown Prince a look of contempt. He truly despised the Crown Prince's behavior—no backbone at all, not a shred of princely dignity.

Serena had helped him several times, but whenever trouble arose, he still threw her out to take the blame. Call it imperial ruthlessness if you want, but in truth it was just cold-blooded selfishness. Who would ever risk their life for a man like that?

Serena understood perfectly, but said nothing. She'd known for a long time—the Crown Prince was an ungrateful wolf, impossible to satisfy. Relying on him was useless; she'd rather depend on herself.

When things were easy, the Crown Prince would help her. But as soon as trouble came, he'd be the first to throw her out, even if she'd just saved him.

Sensing the tense atmosphere, the Crown Prince realized he'd gone too far. Awkwardly, he looked away—just in time to spot Su Wan lying on the ground, her left cheek swollen high. His expression changed, and he demanded loudly, "Serena, what happened to Miss Su Wan?"

Serena couldn't even be bothered to lift her head. She answered quietly, "Your Highness, don't worry. Miss Su Wan just fainted from fright. As for the handprint on her face—that was me. She lost her mind, called everyone 'snakes,' and wouldn't let anyone near her or Reid Yale. To treat him in time, I had to slap her, hoping she'd snap out of it. Unfortunately, it didn't work very well."

Serena's explanation was dignified and reasonable. Neither the Crown Prince, Prince Rowan, nor Prince Terrence thought much of it; her words made sense, and with so many guards present, there was no way she could be lying.

"As long as she's fine." The Crown Prince finally let go of his worry.

With no proper tools, Serena could only do so much. After squeezing the poisoned blood from Reid Yale's arm, she had the Crown Prince order him carried away for treatment by imperial physicians. Otherwise, his life might be saved, but his left arm was another matter.

The guards quickly carried Reid Yale to the nearest palace hall by the menagerie. The wounded and snake-bitten guards were taken away as well. As soon as the imperial doctors arrived, they all crowded into Reid Yale's room.

At that moment, Reid Yale suddenly woke up, though his mind was still clouded. Seeing Serena beside him, he went wild, shouting, "Serena Feng, why are you here? I'll kill you! I'll kill you!"

Reid Yale shoved Serena away with his uninjured right hand. Caught off guard, she staggered and fell to the ground. That wasn't enough—Reid kept flailing his right arm in the air to keep everyone back, cursing loudly: "Get out! Get that vile woman, Serena Feng, out of here! I don't want to see you! Get out, do you hear me? Get Serena Feng, that wretched woman, out!"

At least Reid still had some sense—he didn't say the python should've bitten Serena instead of chasing Su Wan.

Serena hadn't been prepared, and the fall was hard—utterly humiliating. Not a single person in the room reached out to help; they just let her, a lone woman, sit there on the floor.

It took a long moment before Serena could recover from the pain and stand up, her eyes cold as ice...

Serena stood her ground, staring coldly at Reid Yale. Before she could speak, the imperial physicians cut in: "Your Highness, with Miss Feng here, treatment will be affected. We respectfully ask that you have her removed."

That single word—'removed'—made clear just how much the imperial doctors hated Serena. Without Imperial Physician Sun to support her, she meant nothing to them.

"Serena, step outside for now. Once the Young City Lord calms down, we'll talk." The Crown Prince didn't defend her or mention she'd saved Reid Yale. Now that Reid was awake, Serena was no longer useful.

It was a textbook case of burning bridges. Serena laughed coldly, dusted off her clothes, and declared, "Everyone here can bear witness: today, the Young City Lord himself ordered me out. If you want me back someday, remember—you'll have to kneel and beg me, Reid Yale!"

Serena pushed through the crowd and left, leaving everyone in stunned silence.

How could Serena be so confident—what gave her the right to say such things?

"Arrogant! Arrogant! Far too arrogant! That woman is simply outrageous!" An old imperial doctor finally came to his senses and shouted.

"Serena Feng, you want me to beg you? Not in this lifetime! I'm waiting for the day you kneel and beg me. I refuse to believe the heavens will always favor you." Reid Yale shouted after Serena. If he weren't so weak, he might've jumped out of bed and tried to kill her.

Reid tried to say more, but the imperial doctors rushed to hold him down. "Young City Lord, you mustn't get angry—be careful of triggering the snake venom."

Whatever was said inside, Serena didn't hear it. She'd already left. As for Reid Yale's behavior, she felt no anger—she'd never expected anything from him.

Besides, as a doctor, dealing with unreasonable patients was nothing new. She'd been shoved before, even beaten by patients and their families. Whenever a major illness struck and treatment failed, families always blamed the doctor, thinking she hadn't tried hard enough, that she'd killed the patient. Who could ever understand a doctor's grievances?

But all that was behind her now. What mattered was waiting—waiting for Reid Yale to come begging. If she didn't make him kneel, she wouldn't be a Feng.

When Serena stepped outside, she ran into the squad leader who'd protected Reid Yale and Su Wan earlier in the hunting zone. Seeing her, he hurried over, looking uneasy. Serena patiently waited, but after a long pause, he still didn't speak—so she asked, "Is there something you need?"

"Miss Feng, um... those brothers still haven't woken up, and the medicine boys don't know how to treat snake venom. Could you please take a look?" The squad leader stammered, clearly anxious. He'd begged several imperial doctors, but they ignored him, saying they couldn't treat or medicate without orders.

He'd heard the shouting inside and seen Serena's humiliating fall. He felt sorry for her, wanted to rush in and help, to tell Reid Yale it was Serena who'd saved him. Without her, Reid would be dead by now.

But he couldn't do it. He was just a lowly guard—if he charged in, he'd be powerless to help Serena and might lose his own life.

Seeing Serena suffer such humiliation, the squad leader worried she'd take it out on him. But he couldn't let this chance slip by, so he just stood there awkwardly...
