You Go First

But there's one thing! Absolutely no marrying into someone else's clan—you've got to stick with your old man!

(Awkward silence falls...)

The Sigil Sect disciples were glued to the Clarity Charm, hoping for action. Finally, something happened.

It was a Divine Race boy, about twelve or thirteen.

Looked like he was maybe twelve or thirteen—definitely still in the bratty phase.

He brought several Divine Attendants, broke the formation, and then viciously beat the Demon Beast.

The Clarity Charm recorded some of their voices—it seemed they wanted to tame the Demon Beast and claim it as their own.

But that Demon Beast was not so easily tamed.

After being beaten until it was covered in wounds, it severed two of its own legs and broke free, fleeing from captivity.

Lucia Lu stepped into the formation for a peek—and sure enough, two bloody legs lay there, freshly abandoned.

"That Demon Beast must have gone berserk, or maybe fought with that boy, and that's what destroyed the city!" Luna Lian said angrily. "Who is that Divine Race boy? Doesn't his family discipline him?"

Yin Shu frowned and said, "That's Leo Li's son, Liam Li."

Lucia Lu asked, "Leo Li? The Azure Dragon Young Lord Leo Li?"

Yin Shu nodded.

Lucia Lu frowned but said nothing.

Luna Lian had already grown impatient. "That Demon Beast is seriously wounded. It probably won't come out for a while! Now we know how it escaped, so let's head back!"

Yin Shu nodded, took the Clarity Charm from the Sigil Sect disciples, and the group returned to the Palace Guard Barracks.

"Adrian, what do you plan to do with this Clarity Charm?" Lucia Lu asked him. "Are you going to hand it over to His Majesty the Celestial Emperor?"

A city was destroyed and tens of thousands died—this is no small matter.

Adrian Drake frowned and said, "If we hand it to the Celestial Emperor, Liam Li will definitely be punished! But our Dragon Lords have always been close allies... This could stir up trouble."

"Then maybe we should give it to the Azure Dragon Young Lord and let him decide." Lucia Lu suggested.

"No." Suddenly, Sean Shaw's voice sounded from behind.

The two turned to look. He was walking over.

"Little Five!" Adrian Drake pulled him over. "You're here?"

Sean Shaw nodded. "I just ran into Luna Lian, and she told me about the Clarity Charm. Don't give the talisman to Leo Li."

Adrian Drake asked, "Why not?"

"He's... petty. If you give him the talisman, he won't be grateful; he'll just think you're holding leverage over him and get all suspicious and annoyed with you," Sean Shaw said.

"Then should we give it to His Majesty the Celestial Emperor?"

"Let's hold onto it for now," Sean Shaw said. "What's done is done—handing it over won't change anything."

Adrian Drake nodded.

"You go ahead." Sean Shaw said. "I want to talk to Divine Lady Lucia."

Adrian Drake's eyes rolled mischievously. "About what?"

Sean Shaw gave him a chilly look.

"Oh, fine, fine! I'll roll away and leave you lovebirds to it!" Adrian winked and poofed out of sight with a spell.

Lucia Lu looked at Sean Shaw, pursed her lips, and asked, "Are you okay?"

Sean Shaw shook his head. "Earlier... I'm sorry."

"Why are you apologizing to me?"

"I shouldn't have hung up on your Messenger Charm," Sean Shaw said, clearly embarrassed. "I wasn't mad at you. I just... didn't want you to see all that..."

Lucia Lu pursed her lips and said, "Actually, I wanted to tell you—you really are amazing, and so strong! Whatever they say, don't let it get to you!"

Sean Shaw's eyes lit up. "You really... think so?"

Lucia Lu nodded. "Of course! You're not much older than me, but you've already ascended to High God! And you can be our teacher. You even..."

She wanted to say, 'And you're so good-looking! All the girls like you!'

But looking at his face, his eyes, for some reason, her heart suddenly skipped a beat and she couldn't say it.
