Felix Eagleclaw’s mighty Eagle Claw technique was downright ferocious. Even under the relentless assault of those two black-clad weirdos, he held the upper hand. After a few rounds, he broke through their defenses, clawing them hard and ripping their clothes in several places. But here’s the freaky part—neither of those guys bled a single drop, not even a scratch! You gotta know, Felix’s Eagle Claw technique packs enough inner power to make any martial arts master bleed with just one swipe!
“That’s weird! Do these guys have some kind of protective spell on them?” Shawn Young hid in the shadows, secretly freaked out. He quietly channeled his Qi to probe for any magical energy, but didn’t sense a thing. Clearly, those two weren’t using any defensive sorcery yet.
“Wait—what the heck!? What are these dudes made of? Their bodies are tough as nails!” Shawn Young was stunned, still puzzled, when suddenly—"thud, thud"—he heard two muffled sounds. Peeking out, he saw the black-clad men stagger back, their sides exposed where Felix Eagleclaw had ripped away chunks of cloth, revealing skin underneath that looked like tangled earthworms and ancient, dark tree bark!
The moment Shawn Young saw this bizarre scene, he instantly recognized it and gasped, "Ah! So these guys are using the Living Dead Substitute Technique! No wonder they’re not afraid of getting hurt! That’s seriously twisted! Who knows how many corpses they used to train this evil thing—talk about bad karma!"
Turns out, the 'Evil Arts' section of the Codex of Ascension mentions this Living Dead Substitute Technique—a creepy, ancient sorcery dating back to the Xia Dynasty. It’s said the demon god Chiyou invented it so his generals could have bodies immune to blades and axes. The trick? Gather the souls of the dead and fuse them into your own body, creating a freaky shield. The souls become a defensive layer, making the practitioner’s body like a corpse—regular weapons can’t hurt them, only the true spirit inside! But here’s the catch: to master this technique, you have to collect a bunch of souls, and those poor dead folks can never reincarnate, doomed to be slaves forever—unless the sorcerer croaks!
Sure enough, after being knocked back, the two black-clad men just sneered, showing no sign of pain, and closed in on Felix Eagleclaw from both sides. Felix was shocked—he knew his Eagle Claw technique could tear through steel, so he quickly retreated, shouting, "Leon Yan! Tyler Yan! You two old freaks are seriously twisted. I don’t have time to mess around with you today—"
As he spoke, Felix Eagleclaw turned to leave. But the two black-clad men just sneered. One of them laughed wickedly, "Felix, you really think you can walk away from this?"
Felix Eagleclaw paused and said, "If I want to leave, I’ll leave. You think you two can stop me?"
"Heh heh heh... Maybe we can’t stop you, but they definitely can—" The other black-clad man grinned, raised his right hand, and flung a dark red talisman into the air—"whoosh!" It shot up, and then—"crunch, crunch"—a metallic rumble echoed around them. Suddenly, two shadowy figures appeared next to Felix Eagleclaw, rushing at him fast!
"Ah! It's the Chenshire Corpse Golems again!" Felix Eagleclaw's head practically exploded. Those two metal monsters that suddenly appeared were none other than the Yan Twins of Terror’s deadliest signature weapon—Chenshire Corpse Golems. And this time, there were two of them at once!
Whoosh—whoosh—whoosh! The two Chenshire Corpse Golems howled and charged at Felix Eagleclaw from both sides, moving insanely fast. The gusts they kicked up felt like a wrecking ball smashing through a building—just hearing it made your bones ache. If Felix took a hit from them, he’d be toast!
Seeing this, Felix Eagleclaw didn’t bother fighting anymore—he turned tail and ran! He knew there was no way his flesh and blood could go up against two Corpse Golems. That’d be suicide!
"Heh heh—trying to run? Not so fast!" One of the Yan Twins of Terror cackled, then let out a weird screech. Instantly, a Corpse Golem leapt into the air—whoosh!—and landed right in front of Felix, blocking his escape!
"Well, this is bad—" Felix Eagleclaw regretted not listening to Shawn Young’s advice. He’d gone after the Yan Twins of Terror, itching to take them out, and now he was stuck—getting away was next to impossible!
"Heh heh heh... Felix, old man, where do you think you’re going now? Number five on the China Dragon-Tiger Leaderboard, huh? Tonight, you’re just another has-been in our hands!" One of the Yan Twins of Terror laughed maniacally.
Just then, chaos erupted—a huge, black mass plummeted from the sky toward the Yan Twins of Terror. The brothers looked up, feeling the shadow overhead, and saw a rusty, abandoned shipping container falling straight at them. They yelped and dodged aside as fast as they could. Even with the Living Dead Substitute Technique protecting their souls, getting crushed by two tons of metal would wipe out all those hard-earned souls they’d spent years collecting!
Boom! The container spun in midair and landed above the Corpse Golems and Felix Eagleclaw. Suddenly, the hatch flew open—splash!—a flood of stinking yellow water poured out, drenching Felix and the two Corpse Golems from head to toe!
Before Felix and the Yan Twins of Terror could figure out what was happening, a dazzling yellow light shot up into the sky, swirling down to cover the area soaked by the foul water. Instantly, black, hair-like threads sprouted from the ground, spreading at lightning speed. Felix and the Corpse Golems were wrapped up tight, and as soon as they moved, the weird threads tightened around their arms and joints! In less than half a minute, Felix and the two Corpse Golems were bundled up like three black mummies, flailing on the floor but unable to break free!
"Uh—what the heck is this stuff?!" the Yan Twins of Terror shouted in unison.
"Heh heh—bet you’ve heard of this stuff. It’s called Ghoulbane Silk! Or, if you want to be poetic, ‘Three Thousand Threads of Woe.’ This nasty stuff can corrode metal like crazy. Not sure how it works on your Corpse Golems, but I’m dying to find out!" Shawn Young stepped out from his hiding spot, grinning wickedly as he gathered Qi in his hands.
"Ah—Ghoulbane Silk! No, don’t do it—" The Yan Twins of Terror panicked, their voices trembling with terror and pleading.
"Sorry, but you don’t get a say! I’m itching to try this out—Break!" Shawn Young sneered, flinging his hands up—whoosh!—a blinding yellow light swept over the two Corpse Golems trapped by the Ghoulbane Silk.
Crackle—crackle—crackle! Weird sounds echoed through the air.
In no time, the two hulking Corpse Golems stopped struggling and began to cave in, as if being eaten away by super-strong acid. White smoke billowed, and the air reeked of rot. Within minutes, the supposedly indestructible Corpse Golems burst into pale yellow flames, then melted like snow under the sun, leaving behind nothing but a pool of black and yellow sludge!
