You Have to Take Responsibility for Me

12/2/2025

Just as Shawn Young was racking his brains and staring up at the sky, lost in thought, he suddenly heard a commotion coming from the woods, along with the faint sound of crying. Alarmed, he perked up his ears to listen closely. Sure enough, it was the sound of Vivian Fang and Yvonne Hu, mother and daughter, sobbing and talking. Shawn tried to make out what they were saying, but instead of their voices, he heard footsteps approaching through the woods.

"Huh—wait, really? Did they—did they actually come to an agreement?" Shawn Young was a bit confused about the situation.

Soon, Shawn saw Vivian Fang leading Yvonne Hu by the hand, emerging from the woods and walking toward him. They stopped right in front of Shawn, who still looked stunned.

"Uh—you guys—are you okay?" Shawn Young didn't know what to say for a moment, so he carefully asked them.

Yvonne Hu's pretty face turned crimson. She pouted but didn't say anything to him. Instead, she shot him a fierce glare, turned her head away, and ignored him, leaving Shawn Young feeling awkward and embarrassed.

Vivian Fang saw this and didn't say much either. Instead, she whispered to Shawn Young, "Shawn, can you make arrangements for me and Yvonne to return to China as soon as possible?"

"Oh! Sure—I'll get on it right away! When—when do you want to leave?" Shawn Young asked hurriedly.

"Things are pretty chaotic here in Myanmar right now, so it's safer for us to head back to China for the time being. Once things settle down, I'll come back to deal with everything here. If you can arrange it, the sooner the better!" Vivian Fang said.

"Alright, I'll arrange for you both to go back as soon as possible!" Shawn Young replied.

"Mm-hmm, don't worry, Senior Xiao! I know what to do!" Yang Zhongtian nodded, didn't ask any more questions, and turned directly to Fang Ying and Hu Yin'er, mother and daughter. "Ladies! Please board the helicopter! My team and I will escort you to the border station between Myanmar and Jinghong, Yunnan. Over there, our people will have a car ready to take you back to China. Wherever you want to go, it's no problem!"

"Oh! Okay! Thank you—" Fang Ying was a bit surprised, but she still thanked Yang Zhongtian politely. She couldn't figure out why someone Yang Zhongtian's age would call Xiao Yuan 'Senior,' let alone treat him with such respect.

Hu Yin'er hadn't expected Xiao Yuan to have such clout—one phone call and a helicopter appeared! This was Myanmar, not China, and these people seemed to treat Xiao Yuan like royalty. For a moment, she was stunned and suspicious, nervously whispering to Fang Ying, "Uh—Xiao Yuan, do you think he might sell us out?"

Before Fang Ying could reply, Yang Zhongtian burst out laughing. "Haha—don't worry, beautiful! Even if I borrowed a hundred more guts, I wouldn't dare sell you two!"

"Wait, you're—you're Yang Zhongtian? The most famous Chinese boss in the Mai Zayan Special Economic Zone!" Fang Ying was startled. Yang Zhongtian was a legendary figure in several special zones in Myanmar, and as a businesswoman, she'd heard plenty about him.

"Uh—yeah, that's me. But these days, the most famous Chinese boss isn't me, it's Senior Xiao! Haha—" Yang Zhongtian replied with a smile.

"Huh?! No way—Xiao Yuan, how could he be that amazing?!" This time it was Fang Ying's turn to gape in shock.

"Haha—Miss, I give you my personal guarantee—Senior Xiao is even more formidable than you can imagine! Now, let's get on the helicopter! If you have any questions, Senior Xiao will answer them for you later!" Yang Zhongtian cleverly flattered Xiao Yuan, which Xiao Yuan appreciated, feeling grateful for Yang Zhongtian's tact.

"Oh! Okay—I'll make sure to ask him later—Yin'er, let's get on!" Fang Ying said, stepping onto the helicopter first. She glanced back at Xiao Yuan, realizing he was much more mysterious than she'd imagined. She resolved to find a chance to get some answers from him.

"Okay—" Hu Yin'er replied, heading for the helicopter. But as she passed Xiao Yuan, she quietly muttered, "Big bad guy, I'll settle the score with you later!"

"What—what did you say?" The helicopter's rotors were so loud that Xiao Yuan couldn't hear her clearly at first.

"Hmph—listen up! You'd better take responsibility for me!" Hu Yin'er shouted at him, frustrated and flustered.

"Huh? Take responsibility—for you?!" Xiao Yuan finally heard her clearly. Not only did he hear it, but everyone present did, since Hu Yin'er had practically yelled it at him.

"Oh no! I'm doomed, this is so embarrassing!" Hu Yin'er realized everyone was staring at her in shock. Her pretty face turned crimson as she hurried onto the helicopter, burying her face in Fang Ying's lap, not daring to look back at Xiao Yuan.

"Haha—let's get on board and go!" Yang Zhongtian smiled and, along with his two bodyguards, climbed into the helicopter. He waved at the pilot, and the helicopter rose, circling up into the sky and quickly flying out of the valley, heading along the Dongping River toward the horizon.
