Visiting the Jiang Family

1/4/2026

"But Grandma, I'm the Second Young Master of the Yin Family. Of course I should help my brother!" Ethan Yin said matter-of-factly. "If I don't join the head office, how am I supposed to help him out?"

Grandma Yin felt a surge of frustration in her chest.

She knew Ethan Yin's capabilities all too well.

All he ever did was eat, drink, play, and flirt. Joining the head office? If his branch survives two years, that's already a miracle!

Charles Yin spoke up directly, firing off a string of English: "What would you do at the head office? What position could possibly satisfy you? General Manager? CEO? Chairman?"

Everyone present understood, except Ethan Yin, who stared at Charles like a fool. "Big brother, what are you saying? I didn't understand a word. Can't you speak Chinese? You know I'm terrible at foreign languages."

Even Cecilia Gu could hardly bear to listen.

She gently dabbed her mouth with a handkerchief, hiding her amused smile.

A mocking smile flickered in Charles Yin's eyes. "The head office is full of elite talents with overseas experience. Daily operations are conducted in English, French, German, and Japanese. You can't even understand basic English—how are you going to do business?"

Ethan Yin's face finally turned ugly.

Sylvia Ran finally realized just how... pathetic Ethan Yin really was.

Suddenly, she regretted it.

Even if she was desperate for money back then, she shouldn't have tied herself completely to Ethan Yin.

Now, is there really no way to back out anymore?

Mrs. Yin watched her son humiliate Ethan Yin and felt absolutely thrilled!

A bastard born to a lowly woman dares to show his face at the main office?

Ethan Yin could hear the sarcasm in Charles Yin's voice. He pointed at Cecilia Gu, "What about her? She doesn't know anything either! How did she get into the main office?"

Charles Yin sneered, "Cecilia Gu graduated from a top domestic university, has a bachelor's degree, and passed Level 8 English. Want her to translate what you just said for you?"

Are you kidding me?

When Cecilia Gu applied for a job at Yin Enterprises, she got in purely on her own merit!

Back when she was applying, there were tons of people competing for the position. If she didn't have real skills, how could she have gotten into Yin Enterprises without any background or connections?

Even though it was just a branch office, everyone knows that to get into Yin Enterprises, you either need strong connections or serious talent.

Six years ago, Ethan Yin had just flunked his college entrance exams and was repeating the year.

A lot happened that year.

That was the year Mrs. Yin and Yin Hao nearly destroyed each other—one ended up disabled, the other disappeared.

It was also the year Mrs. Yin started working on ruining Ethan Yin.

With Mrs. Yin's guidance, Ethan Yin, who could've gotten into a third-tier university, gave up completely and became a spoiled rich kid just living for pleasure.

And there were always people whispering in his ear, telling him that as long as he had Yin blood, it didn't matter if he was useless—the Yin family was so rich that even a little bit would be enough for him to enjoy for a lifetime.

With all the praise and encouragement, Ethan Yin really did turn into a complete waste.

Honestly, Mrs. Yin was truly a farsighted woman.

This move was bloodless, but incredibly effective.

No wonder Charles Yin is so deep and calculating. No wonder...

It's all inherited from the family...

After being put down by Charles Yin like that, Ethan Yin finally realized what he was lacking.

Even if he's still unwilling, what can he do?

He always thought Cecilia Gu was just an uneducated woman, only holding onto the position of Yin Family's young mistress because she was pregnant with an heir.

Well, to be fair, that’s not entirely wrong.

But Cecilia Gu is definitely not someone without any skills.

Graduating from a top university in the country might not compare to those flaunting master's or doctorate degrees from overseas, but beating Ethan Yin is still a breeze.

Sylvia Ran tugged at Ethan Yin, signaling him to stop before he embarrassed himself even more.

That meal... the taste was something else!

The day after this family reunion dinner, Mrs. Yin really did take Cecilia Gu to visit the Jiang Family.

The Jiang Family took Mrs. Yin bringing Cecilia Gu as a guest very seriously.

After all, Mrs. Yin is the eldest daughter of the Jiang Family.

A daughter returning to her parents’ home is always a big deal.

And this time, the Yin Family’s young mistress, Vivian Jiang’s daughter-in-law, was coming too.

So of course the Jiang Family couldn’t take it lightly.

Eric Jiang was even more enthusiastic than anyone else when he heard Cecilia Gu would visit.

He’d always regretted not inviting Nora Yun over, and not showing her the greenhouse he’d worked on for so long...

But since Cecilia Gu looks so much like Nora Yun, letting her see it—maybe that would make up for the regret of those years?

Seeing Eric Jiang so excited, Helen Jiang was practically grinding her teeth to dust.

The more excited Eric Jiang was, the more Helen Jiang hated Cecilia Gu.

For some reason, Helen Jiang remembered what Sylvia Ran had said.

If only Cecilia Gu’s child couldn’t be saved, she wouldn’t be able to stay in the Yin Family, right?

If she’s not in the Yin Family, she won’t be around Big Brother anymore, right?

A vicious glint flashed in Helen Jiang’s eyes.

Cecilia Gu, don’t blame me.

If you have to blame someone, blame your resemblance to Nora Yun.

Right now, Cecilia Gu had no idea what Helen Jiang was thinking. She followed Mrs. Yin out of the car and looked up to see a middle-aged couple, Eric Jiang, and Helen Jiang waiting at the door.

No need to guess—that middle-aged couple had to be Mr. and Mrs. Jiang.

Cecilia Gu stepped forward and greeted them, "Uncle, Aunt, Cousin, Cousin!"

Seeing Cecilia Gu’s elegant features, even though she came from a humble background, she carried herself with the poise of a true lady. She didn’t seem like someone from a small family at all, and everyone nodded in approval.

"Good, good child. You’re home now, so don’t be shy." Mrs. Jiang took Cecilia Gu’s hand, looking her up and down. "Look at you, pregnant and not taking care of yourself. Eric, bring out the coat I prepared for your cousin-in-law. It’s so cold, make sure she doesn’t catch a chill."

Eric Jiang quickly agreed, and someone brought over a coat. He took it and walked over to Cecilia Gu, gently draping it over her shoulders.

Helen Jiang had never seen Eric Jiang treat her so gently before, so her gaze at Cecilia Gu grew even more jealous.

Cecilia Gu smiled and thanked them, "Thank you, Aunt, thank you, Cousin! I’m not that delicate. It’s just a few steps, I’ll be fine."

Eric Jiang couldn’t help but stare at Cecilia Gu’s smiling face.

Mrs. Yin felt much more relaxed now that she was back at her parents’ home. Her expression softened, losing its usual sternness.

A breeze lifted Cecilia Gu’s long hair, carrying a faint fragrance toward Eric Jiang.

Eric Jiang’s body stiffened ever so slightly.

"It’s cold out here, let’s go inside." Mr. Jiang said with a smile, "Eric, why are you still standing there? Hurry and push your aunt in."

Eric Jiang snapped out of it, took the wheelchair from the maid, and slowly pushed Mrs. Yin inside.

Cecilia Gu walked beside Mrs. Jiang, holding her hand.

Eric Jiang’s gaze inevitably drifted over again.

From behind, you couldn’t even tell Cecilia Gu was pregnant.

Not only did her face resemble Nora Yun, but her figure and even her temperament were just like hers.

Helen Jiang saw Eric Jiang’s eyes glued to Cecilia Gu and stomped her foot in anger before turning and leaving.

Mrs. Yin laughed, "What’s wrong with Helen? Why is she throwing a tantrum again?"

Eric Jiang replied with a smile, "Aunt, you know Helen loves to throw tantrums. There’s been a lot going on at home lately, she’s probably just bored."

"It’s not a tantrum!" Helen Jiang shot a quick look at Cecilia Gu, then at Eric Jiang. "It’s all Brother’s fault! He got so excited when he heard Cousin was coming, he didn’t care about me at all!"

Eric Jiang glanced at Cecilia Gu, then glared fiercely at Helen Jiang.

Cecilia Gu was a little surprised by Helen Jiang’s words, but then just shook her head helplessly.

Mrs. Jiang shot a quick look at Cecilia Gu, her eyes hiding an unreadable emotion.

Mrs. Yin glanced at Eric Jiang, taking in his expression and actions all at once.

Eric Jiang’s affection for the Yun Family’s eldest daughter was no secret.

Now Cecilia Gu looked exactly like Nora Yun...

Mrs. Yin sighed inwardly. Her nephew probably still hadn’t gotten over the shadow of the Yun Family’s eldest daughter.

Suddenly meeting Cecilia Gu, who looked just like Nora Yun—it was only natural for his feelings to shift.

But Eric, I’m sorry.

Cecilia Gu is carrying Charles Yin’s child, holds five percent of the Yin Family’s shares, and Charles...

So, Cecilia Gu can only be part of the Yin Family!

Mrs. Yin thought of this and took the initiative to speak up for Eric Jiang, "Eric is just being considerate! As a brother, he should act like one! Cecilia is your cousin-in-law, it’s only right for you to take extra care of her."

Helen Jiang didn’t expect Mrs. Yin to speak up for them. Her gaze grew even more resentful.

Eric Jiang didn’t want Cecilia Gu to misunderstand, so he quickly said, "Exactly! It’s Cecilia’s first time here, and as her cousin, I can’t let her suffer even a little. Otherwise, Charles would blame me for not taking care of her! Helen, you may be young, but you’re already a grown woman. You can’t keep throwing tantrums. Cecilia is your sister-in-law, you can’t be jealous of her!"

Helen Jiang stomped her foot angrily and didn’t say another word.

Mr. Jiang saw it all but didn’t say a word.
