Chapter 950: Encroachment

Just as there are no two people with identical magical power—no matching fluctuations and frequencies—so too, the same item crafted by different alchemists will always bear subtle differences. These minute discrepancies, introduced during creation, can affect the success rate, and even if successful, impact the item's potency.

But the Gray Orcs are different. They can have many people working together to create a single alchemical golem, and the result is indistinguishable from one made by a lone craftsman. Sometimes, a golem forged by many hands is even stronger than one made alone.

Even more terrifying, the Gray Orcs possess a unique racial talent: not only can they cooperate in crafting, but they can also create items that surpass their own ranks.

A group of ordinary alchemists might be able to craft something only a master alchemist—or even a grandmaster—could make.

Stronger creations aren't out of the question!

This ability is what makes the Gray Orcs truly formidable in the art of alchemy.

So, dozens of ordinary alchemists don't concern Leon much. As long as there are enough people, most problems can be handled, and with enough numbers, research and development is covered too.

The next day, Leon dispatched more alchemical golems to conduct thorough searches, putting on a show of trying to locate every water supply tunnel entrance.

That same day, yet another previously discovered water supply tunnel was destroyed. The entrance was blocked off, and inside the Gray Orc fortress, another major water source suddenly ran dry.
