I’ll Play You to Death

Evan Chu’s sudden entrance caught everyone off guard—shock, sure, but more than anything, it was pure joy. For Vice-Dean Marcus Gongsun and Elder Victor Xu, it was like a lifeline had just dropped from the sky.

The students of Heavenly Dragon Academy parted on their own, clearing a path. Evan Chu swaggered through, deliberately waving and greeting the crowd, putting on an outrageous show—total cocky hotshot mode.

The masked youth on the platform stared at Evan Chu and asked coldly, “So that’s your academy’s famous Evan Chu?”

“That’s right, that’s Evan Chu! Get ready to eat defeat! Sea Dragon Academy, you’d better start figuring out how you’re going to pay up when you lose!” Marcus Gongsun was instantly fired up—his earlier gloom vanished without a trace.

Flynn Yun eyed Evan Chu as he walked over. “This punk thinks he can take down Leon Yun? At his age, with that cocky attitude, he’s probably, what, fifth layer Earth Martial Realm tops. What’s there to brag about? Honestly, I was curious, but now I’m just disappointed.”

“Flynn Yun, even if he’s only fifth layer Earth Martial Realm, that’s all he needs to crush you. Our academy’s people are just that arrogant, just that flashy—can’t handle it? Want to up the stakes?” Elder Victor Xu laughed, totally unbothered.

With Evan Chu finally showing up, the crisis hanging over the academy was swept away. The kid was nerve-wracking, sure, but if he didn’t help them save face, they’d have to teach him a lesson later.

Evan Chu stopped at the edge of the platform, didn’t jump up right away—instead, he turned to the Heavenly Dragon Academy students and declared, “I got lost in the Monster Beast Forest, that’s why I’m late! Sorry to keep everyone waiting!”

His excuse was so ridiculous—missing for half a year just because he got lost? Who’d believe that? The students shot him all kinds of weird looks.
