Unicorn Arm

Striking while the enemy is down has always been Evan Chu's style. This time, instead of unleashing Heaven-Cleave, he went with Earthsplitter. As the Fire Unicorn fell, Evan chained Earthsplitter onto it, sending the beast crashing straight into the lake below.

Instantly, clouds of steam erupted from the lake’s surface as the water began to boil furiously. To see such a phenomenon on such a massive lake was truly a rare sight.

The Fire Unicorn roared with fury beneath the water, its cyan flames slowly sputtering out. Seeing this, Evan was overjoyed. He instantly teleported himself into the lake.

At the same time, he hurriedly activated Watershift. The Fire Unicorn began thrashing wildly in the water, clearly suffering heavy damage. Evan wondered to himself if it might actually drown here if this kept up.

"Linfeng, now’s the perfect time to attack! The Fire Unicorn’s defenses are at their weakest. If you don’t seriously injure it now, once it escapes the lake, you’ll never get another chance to kill it!" Luna, the Sword Spirit, urged anxiously.

Evan understood Luna’s point. The Fire Unicorn was clearly thrown off because it had never fallen into water before, so it couldn’t adapt right away. With its eighth-layer Saint Martial Realm strength, it could easily fly out of the lake at any moment. Evan had to strike hard before it broke free.

Evan’s body completely fused with the water. The lake was boiling furiously, the water level dropping fast, and countless dead fish, shrimp, and even some lesser aquatic monsters floated to the surface—creatures whose strength wasn’t high enough to survive the heat.

In this boiling lake, survival was impossible. Countless lives vanished from the Divine Battlefield the moment the Fire Unicorn crashed into the water.

Evan closed in to within two meters of the Fire Unicorn. Thanks to Watershift’s special effect, the beast couldn’t sense him at all—especially now, when it was panicking and completely unaware of his presence.

Evan frantically circulated his Chaos Dragon Force. He didn’t have enough left for two Heaven-Cleaves—this strike had to deal serious damage, no matter what.

The Fire Unicorn’s massive body left Evan a bit stumped. He knew he had to find its vital spot to seriously injure it, but for a moment, he really couldn’t decide where to strike.

"Linfeng, what are you waiting for? If you hesitate, it’ll be too late!" Luna snapped, furious at Evan’s indecision.

"This thing’s body is huge—where am I supposed to hit it? If I miss and it escapes, I’ll lose everything. My Chaos Dragon Force is running out!" Evan shot back anxiously.

"The head! Aim for its head! Every living creature’s weakness is its head—stop hesitating!" Luna scolded him, exasperated.

Evan quickly shifted position and quietly approached the Fire Unicorn’s face. Gripping the Frostbane Sword, he unleashed a powerful slash—the most uncertain attack he’d made since learning Heaven-Cleave. Even with the five elements fused in, the beast’s strength made him worry.

Just then, the Fire Unicorn’s body surged upward toward the lake’s surface. It was slowly adapting to the water and starting to resist its damage.

But Evan’s Heaven-Cleave was already in motion. The devastating blow landed squarely on the Fire Unicorn’s head while it was completely unguarded. Instantly, a fiery red spray burst out, and its massive head was split clean in two by Heaven-Cleave.

Unicorn blood dyed the entire lake red. Even as it was wounded, the Fire Unicorn shot up from the water. Its flames were out, but its gigantic bleeding body was still terrifying to behold.

"It survived that? This thing’s life force is insane!" Evan muttered, still shaken.

Evan could clearly see the beast’s head had been split open—and inside was a fire-red bead. If he was right, that was the demon core powering its fire attribute. He had to kill it quickly.

Evan flashed out of the lake as well—striking while the enemy was weak was always his style. The Fire Unicorn was now gravely wounded and had no strength left to fight, so it tried to flee back toward its lair.

Of course, Evan couldn’t let it get away. He teleported again, instantly appearing in front of it, and swung the Frostbane Sword with all his might. This time, he used Earthsplitter on its head—now that his Earthsplitter was boosted by the five elements, its power was nearly equal to Heaven-Cleave.

The exposed wound had no defenses left. If Evan landed a few more blows like this, he really might be able to kill the beast.

He struck again, landing another perfect hit on the Fire Unicorn’s head. The beast let out a world-shaking roar as its massive head was split completely open.

Even after all that, it still didn’t die—which was unbelievable. Just as Evan was about to attack again, a red light surged from the Fire Unicorn’s body, and flames slowly began to reappear.

Seeing this, Evan’s heart skipped a beat. Was it about to counterattack? Was it going to go down with him? Or self-destruct?

A thousand thoughts raced through Evan’s mind. He was wary of this giant beast and braced himself for a desperate last struggle.

Then, to his shock, the Fire Unicorn spoke. “Human, I never expected you to be so powerful. I underestimated you. Now I’m gravely wounded and know I’m no match for you. But I’ve trained for tens of thousands of years—if I die like this, I’ll never rest easy. If I teach you the Kirin Clan’s divine skill, will you spare me?”

Evan was stunned. He hadn’t expected the beast to bargain at a moment like this. “Do you really think I’ll agree to your terms? What right do you have to negotiate now? Killing you would be effortless.”

“My divine skill can double your strength. If you kill me, you’ll never get it. Agree to my terms, and I’ll give you my Fire Source Pearl as well. Otherwise, I’ll self-destruct—and you won’t come out unscathed,” the Fire Unicorn warned.

"Linfeng, agree to its terms! If a human can master a sacred beast’s divine skill, their attack power becomes terrifying—just like when the Bloodshadow Berserk Lion gave you Lion Spirit Fist," Luna advised.

Evan responded immediately, “I can agree—but first, tell me the name of your divine skill, and how exactly do you want me to spare you?”

The flames on the Fire Unicorn’s body faded once more, clearly showing it was at its limit. “My divine skill is a unique ability of the Kirin Clan and humans alike. Its name is—Kirin Arm!”
