Morgan Shangguan chuckled and nodded, then took Damien Gray by the hand and walked toward her own quarters. Muriel Murong watched her departing figure, grinning foolishly.
Noah Duanmu felt annoyed and reached out to pinch her cheek, snorting, "Snap out of it!" Everyone had already left, yet she was still grinning like a fool!
"Ow... That hurts! What's wrong with you?" Muriel Murong rubbed her sore cheek and glared fiercely at Noah Duanmu.
Noah Duanmu snorted, "You’re swooning over another man right in front of me. What if I weren’t here?"
Muriel Murong placed her left hand on her hip and jabbed his chest with her right index finger, retorting, "Aren’t you the one who can’t take your eyes off any pretty woman you see?"
Noah Duanmu, a bit guilty, replied, "Everyone appreciates beauty! I just took a second look, that’s all." He truly only glanced again, he had no other intentions!
Muriel Murong glared at him, and Noah Duanmu muttered softly, "Fine, I won’t look in the future!"
Muriel Murong lifted her chin, shot him a sidelong glance, and snorted, "That’s more like it!" Then she turned and walked away, unable to hide the sweet smile at the corner of her lips.
Noah Duanmu snapped back to his senses, twitching his lips. Wasn’t he the one who was supposed to be angry? How did he end up being the one to admit fault? He shook his head, smiled, and sighed, helplessly accepting his fate.
Inside the room, Damien Gray lay on the soft couch, holding Morgan Shangguan in his arms. Seeing her lost in thought, he gently stroked her hair and asked softly, "What are you thinking about?"
Morgan snapped out of her reverie, reached out to wrap her arms around his neck, and asked with a playful smile, "Damien, can I ask you something?"
"Hmm?" Damien Gray raised his brows, signaling her to go ahead.
Morgan cupped his face in her hands, gazing into his eyes as she asked, "If I lost my purity, would you still want me?"
Damien kissed her lips lazily and replied, "Even if you were crippled, I'd still want you!" No matter what happened, there would never be another Morgan in this world, and he could never love anyone else. Their bond was unbreakable, and anyone who dared touch her would regret ever being born!
A flash of violent, murderous intent flickered in his eyes—like a cold, eerie hand reaching out from hell, sending chills down one's spine. Even though it lasted only a moment, it was enough to freeze the blood and paralyze the heart.
But Morgan seemed oblivious to his murderous aura, focusing only on his words. Her face darkened as she squinted at him, "Damien Gray, is this how you curse people?"
Damien raised his brows, a hint of amusement in his eyes, and replied innocently, "I'm just telling the truth!"
Morgan narrowed her eyes dangerously, but before she could do anything, Damien gently stroked her cheek and smiled, "Getting angry isn't good for our baby!"
Hearing this, Morgan instantly deflated and lay motionless on top of him.
Damien chuckled softly, kissed the top of her head, his eyes overflowing with affection, and held her with exceptional gentleness.
Early the next morning, the two of them took their time with breakfast. After some thought, Morgan said to Damien, "You should head back first."
Damien frowned, but Morgan squeezed his hand with a smile. "Don’t worry, I promise I’ll stay in the villa and won’t go out!"
The Cloud Guild’s true base was a secluded villa, surrounded by arrays and natural barriers. Morgan herself had designed the formations—she was certain that no more than three people in the world could break in! That was, if they could even find the place without alerting the guards.
The location was extremely secret. Everyone thought the Cloud Guild was the former Demon Subduing Sect, but in reality, that was just a cover. The real Demon Subduing Sect was merely one of several branch bases!
The fifteenth of September was approaching; the martial world was restless, and the Martial Arts Summit was imminent. The righteous factions were determined to eliminate them to search for the treasure in peace. At this time, the Ghost Gate had many matters to handle, especially since the Cloud Guild was relentlessly opposing them. Although Gu Yihan and Jing Moxhen were highly capable, some matters still required Damien’s decision.
Previously, Morgan hadn’t paid much attention to these matters. Although the person lurking in the shadows was difficult to gauge, neither she nor Damien were people to be bullied easily. Dealing with both of them at once was no simple feat. Even if, in the worst case, they lost in the end—so what? As long as they were together, nothing would be truly frightening!
But now, things were different. She was carrying two babies, and naturally couldn’t be as carefree as before. She didn’t want their children to be harmed, so she absolutely couldn’t let anything go wrong!
Damien understood what was on her mind. He sighed and said, "Just stay here and behave. I'll be back soon!"
Still worried, he grabbed the purple gourd at her waist and shook it, threatening and coaxing a group of little ghosts to solemnly promise they wouldn’t let Morgan run off before finally relaxing!
Morgan found it amusing. If she really wanted to do something, could those little ghosts really stop her?
The location was so secret that everyone thought the Cloud Guild was just the old Demon-Suppressing Sect, but in reality, that was only a decoy—just one of their branch outposts!
The fifteenth of September was approaching, and the martial world was restless. The summit was imminent, and the righteous factions were determined to eliminate them so they could hunt for treasure in peace. The Ghost Gate had plenty to deal with, especially since the Cloud Guild was still working tirelessly against them. Though Gu Yihan and Jing Moke were both formidable, some matters still needed Damien’s decision.
Morgan hadn’t paid much attention to these things before. That shadowy figure’s motives were still a mystery, but she and Damien weren’t people to be bullied. Taking on both of them wouldn’t be easy, and even if they lost in the end—so what? As long as they were together, nothing could truly frighten them.
But things were different now. She was carrying two little ones, so she couldn’t afford to be careless anymore. She refused to let anything happen to their babies—nothing could go wrong!
Damien understood what was on her mind. He sighed and said, "Just stay here and be good. I’ll be back soon!"
Still uneasy, he grabbed the purple gourd at her waist and shook it, threatening and coaxing a group of little ghosts to solemnly swear they wouldn’t let Morgan sneak out before he finally relented.
Morgan couldn’t help but laugh. If she really wanted to do something, did those little ghosts really think they could stop her?
