Corpse Poison, This Vengeance Must Be Repaid

2/14/2026

The coffin shop wasn’t that big. Three hundred fierce, wolf-like constables stormed inside, and within just two quarters of an hour, they had turned the place upside down, digging up any suspicious patches of ground.

Sure enough, they dug up several corpses from the shop.

“This is a huge case,” one constable sighed, silently calculating how much credit and how many promotions this might earn them.

“Look over here—these coffins aren’t right.” Several constables crowded around a coffin in the corner, pointing and discussing, drawing the crowd over.

“There’s mud here, and it doesn’t smell new.”

“The paint’s peeling here, and there’s a corpse stench. Could someone be inside this coffin?”

“It’s completely sealed—maybe there’s already a dead body inside.”

......

Everyone chattered and pointed at the coffin.

“Enough with the noise. Open the coffin and see what’s inside.”

The constables rushed up and pried open the coffin in no time. A wave of corpse stench hit them, and corpse worms crawled out. Seeing the rotting body inside, a few of the newer recruits with weaker nerves vomited on the spot.

Serena Feng walked in just as this happened and hurried over to check. At a glance, even she was startled and frowned deeply. "Grave robbing?"

It was actually a lucrative business. No wonder Jason Lan’s men could operate in the Imperial City—they had real skills.

"Miss Feng." The constables noticed Serena Feng and quickly greeted her. She waved them off, indicating formality was unnecessary. "How’s the investigation going? Where’s my brother?"

"Miss Feng, we haven’t found Young Master Feng Jin yet. But rest assured, we’ve sent men to search a ten-mile radius. Those people won’t escape." The constable promised quickly. Serena nodded her approval. "What about the woman who gave you the tip?"

"She’s been taken to the Capital Prefecture Court. If you want to see her, I can have her brought over right away."

"No need. That can wait until tomorrow. Right now, finding my brother comes first." Serena’s expression was cold, without a trace of a smile. "Since the coffins here are suspicious, open every single one and see what’s inside."

"Thank you for the reminder, Miss Feng. We know what to do." Coffins could hide people; putting an unconscious child inside would be no problem at all.

"Move faster." Serena urged again. If Little Feng Jin really was hidden in a coffin, he could suffocate if they delayed.

With Serena personally on the scene, the constables dared not slack off. They split into groups of four and opened every coffin inside and out. The ones outside looked brand new, but those in the back courtyard were a different story—there was all sorts of stuff inside.

It was obvious now—the coffin shop was actually a grave-robbing gang. They refurbished stolen coffins and sold them again.

Not only was this a disgrace to the dead, it was a desecration of the living. The constables grew more disgusted the more they saw, and worked even faster. After another quarter hour, the whole shop was searched again, but there was still no sign of Feng Jin.

"This little shop really is full of hidden talents." Serena Feng sat in the main hall, watching the Capital Prefecture constables interrogate the shop workers.

These people were stubborn—no matter how much suffering they endured, none of them made a sound.

"Miss Feng, we’re useless." The constables from the Capital Prefecture looked ashamed. Serena waved it off, unconcerned. "You’ve done your best. Leave the rest to me. I want to see just how tough these men really are."

Like a goddess of vengeance, Serena rose from her chair and walked up to one of the men, regarding him coldly. "Tough bones. Jason Lan’s subordinates really are impressive."

The tortured man’s eyes flickered, dropping the wooden act as he met Serena’s penetrating gaze. For a moment, panic flashed across his face before he quickly looked down and resumed his dead expression.

Too late...

"So you’re not a simple fool. You really put on a good act." Serena sneered and clapped her hands. "Bring me my medicine chest."

The Eighteen Riders carried Serena’s medicine chest over. She turned to open it, pulled out gloves and put them on, then took out a syringe and a vial of medicine. In front of everyone, she drew the drug. "This was prepared for Jason Lan himself. Too bad he was too cautious and escaped first. Since that’s the case, I’ll use you as my outlet."

She never used her skills to harm others, but this time she made an exception. Jason Lan dared to target her brother—now he could face her wrath.

Serena Feng smiled brilliantly and signaled for the constables to take the man off the torture rack. The tortured man trembled all over, staring at Serena in horror, shaking his head and struggling to retreat.

To him, Serena’s smile was scarier than any demon.

The surrounding constables nervously rubbed their hands. They didn’t know what Serena was holding, but their instincts told them it was nothing good. She was scarier than any executioner.

Serena ignored everyone else, crouched down, and injected the drug into the man’s body. The needle piercing his skin was nothing compared to the torture he’d already endured.

The man thought that was all, a flash of relief in his eyes. He assumed Serena was just a naïve girl with simple tricks, that the needle would hurt but not much. To please her, he even faked a pained expression. But in the next second, he realized how wrong he was...

Serena was no naïve girl—she was a demon.

"Ah, ah, ah... Spare me, spare me!" No matter how much the Capital Prefecture constables tortured him before, this hard man never made a sound, but now he howled in agony, clawing at his own hands and tearing strips of flesh from his body.

"Help, help!" Soon he was a bloody mess, scraps of flesh littering the floor. The Capital Prefecture men looked on, nauseated. When they glanced up, they saw Serena standing there with a bright smile, her beautiful eyes cold as ice.

Hiss... The constables shuddered. They had no idea what Miss Feng had done—how could anyone rip their own flesh off like that? It was terrifying.

The constables forced themselves not to look, trying to keep their eyes blank so they wouldn’t have nightmares about the gruesome scene.

"Just let me die, I beg you, let me die." The man was in unbearable pain, gouged out his own eyes, and tried to smash his head on the ground but found he couldn’t.

"Don’t bother. You won’t die." Serena replied coldly. "Now, can you tell me where you hid my brother?"

"No, I don’t know, I don’t know." The man still refused, tearing at his own ears until he ripped them off, a disgusting mix of blood and flesh.

"Still stubborn? How about another dose?" Serena asked softly. The tortured man shuddered violently, and with a splatter, lost control of his bowels as he shrank back in terror...
