Chapter 760: Shattered

Jairus's face twisted with anger and smug satisfaction, the magical patterns on his body flaring to life as one powerful spell after another thundered toward Leon.

Finally, this moment had come. This damned outsider—let's see what excuse you have now. You dared to strike, so you're doomed. The entire Dark Elf enclave will be your enemy!

Despicable sneak attacker, this time I'll kill you myself—right in front of everyone...

Despair!

Jairus couldn't help but let a smile slip. He'd waited too long for this moment. Ever since his last defeat, he'd convinced himself it was a sneak attack—he'd wanted to wash away that humiliation for ages.

In an instant, a violent wind erupted, sending countless metallic wind blades streaking out, laced with icy power, all aiming to shred Leon to pieces.

Leon gripped the Doombringer Staff, giving it a gentle wave. A spark of light flared at its tip, and immediately, six Frostfire Shields materialized around him.

Three shields of flame, three of ice—the six shields spun rapidly around Leon, blocking the barrage of wind blades and icy shards.

It looked as if a blurred shield of red and blue had enveloped Leon entirely.

A few seconds later, every spell Jairus unleashed in his surprise assault was intercepted—Lin Yun hadn’t even moved a step.

Lin Yun slowly raised his head and looked at Jairus. "Last time, you just got lucky. I didn't expect you to squander that chance so carelessly."

Jairus froze, staring at Lin Yun in disbelief. He couldn’t comprehend how his most ferocious barrage of spells had been blocked by something as simple as an Icefire Shield.

And it seemed the Icefire Shield was simply spinning in place, while every one of his spells crashed right into it.

Impossible. This despicable sneak attacker—a lowly human—how could he possibly withstand my spells?

Every spell I cast was a quick-cast Spellmark spell!

Wait, I still have my Limit Spell!

As long as I use a Limit Spell, I can obliterate this damned human in an instant!

Using a Limit Spell against this contemptible outsider is honestly giving him too much credit. He’s probably never even seen what a Limit Spell looks like.

With that thought, Jairus let out a cold laugh.

A rune on his arm suddenly flared with light, and in an instant, the earth began to tremble. Countless grains of yellow sand surged together, coalescing in the blink of an eye into a massive hand nearly four or five meters across.

The sand kept compressing, transforming into a giant hand that looked like it was carved from yellow crystal—vivid, lifelike, as if it had burst from the ground itself. The enormous hand slammed down toward Lin Yun.

Lin Yun glanced over, his tone flat: "Is that all you've got?"

Then, the tip of the Dragon Staff glowed, and in an instant, a massive Eskrim Wood Gate—seven or eight meters tall—rose from the ground before Lin Yun. In this nearly waterless place, casting such a spell relied solely on Lin Yun's own magic power.

The yellow crystal hand crashed into the Eskrim Wood Gate, unleashing a violent force between them. In a blink, the gate shattered into fragments, and the massive hand crumbled back into sand.

Jairus's face was a mask of shock—he couldn't believe it. His strongest Limit Spell, Earth Hand, a spell with power rivaling a sixth-tier spell, had been blocked so easily.

The next moment, the sand beneath Jairus's feet shivered, and an endless stream of yellow sand erupted, swarming like an army of ants, instantly wrapping half his body.

Jairus, now furious and panicked, surged his mana, scattering swathes of sand. But more sand kept pouring from the ground, and in seconds, only his head remained uncovered.

The other Dark Elves watched, pale-faced, cold sweat beading on their foreheads.

Jairus was their tribe's greatest prodigy—by now, almost the strongest after the elders, with the power of an eighth-tier titled Archmage. Yet in direct confrontation, he was utterly helpless.
