Fierce Battle in Shadowlin City Part Two

1/19/2026

Since Evan Chu had made up his mind to kill, he showed no mercy. The middle-aged man's words had pushed him past his breaking point—he could no longer bear it! Without hesitation, Evan swung his Frostbane Sword, unleashing a savage Earthsplitter slash, determined to finish his opponent in a single move.

Now, every martial technique Evan Chu wielded was infused with the power of the five elements and thunder. The force was overwhelming—far greater than a mere Earthsplitter, and in terms of raw attack, no weaker than Heaven-Cleave!

A massive wave of sword-qi erupted from Evan Chu’s Frostbane Sword. The middle-aged man saw only a blur before him—a terrifying force crashed down, so strong he forgot to dodge. The sword-qi struck him head-on, cleaving his body cleanly in two!

Maybe even in death, he couldn’t fathom how a mere Divine Martial Realm youth like Evan Chu could unleash such monstrous power. It was beyond anything he could have dreamed, but now he’d never have another chance—he was dead beyond dead.

The sword-qi blasted through the man and shattered the entire general-goods shop into dust. A bottomless chasm split the ground, and the uproar instantly shocked several experts all across Shadowlin City.

Seeing Evan Chu act, Ethan Fenn, Ryan Ouyang, and Roxanne Lin didn’t just stand by. Their attacks weren’t as fierce as Evan’s, but against these masked Black Lotus Guard Corps members, it was more than enough—within a few breaths, they’d already cut down several.

Evan Chu knew such a commotion would draw even stronger enemies, so he moved lightning-fast—his Frostbane Sword swung like a giant cleaver, finishing off the rest in just a few strokes. His speed and ruthlessness left Roxanne Lin and the others sweating in awe.

Only now did they realize just how terrifying Evan Chu’s strength truly was. Each of them quickly stripped a veil from a corpse and stashed it in their storage rings, then—without exchanging a word—shot into the sky, fleeing at top speed.

Not long after Evan Chu’s group left, dozens of figures rushed to the scene. Of course, while they’d been slaughtering the Black Lotus Guard Corps, plenty of bystanders had witnessed it—but Evan’s group didn’t bother with them. Shadowlin City was enormous; if they tried to kill every witness, they’d never finish.

The newcomers quickly pieced together what had happened: four people—three men and one woman—had killed the Black Lotus Guard Corps and were fleeing east. An elderly man in white robes said coldly, “To kill in my Shadowlin City is to spit in my face. Worse, you slaughtered our own kind! Pass my order—issue a White-Tier Wanted Order. No matter what, these four must be captured and brought to justice. I want to see who dares act so arrogantly!”

Immediately, several figures sped off in pursuit, chasing after Evan Chu’s group. At the same time, brilliant signal fireworks exploded in the sky—maybe that was their way of sending a message.

Evan Chu’s group was fast—despite flight restrictions in the Netherworld, their speed barely dropped in this emergency. Maybe it was just the kind of hidden potential that comes out when you’re fighting for your life.

After half a day of flying, Evan Chu spotted a mountain range ahead. “Let’s enter that valley,” he said. “Even if someone comes searching, it’ll take them ages—and we can quietly take out any pursuers.”

“Evan Chu, following you is a real thrill—I love it!” Ryan Ouyang shouted, his face lit up with excitement. Evan could only shake his head at that.

“Don’t get ahead of yourself. The Netherworld is nothing like our Azure Tide Ruins. To put it bluntly, any strong expert here could wipe out every major sect in the Azure Tide Ruins. Stay sharp—let’s see if there’s a cave nearby,” Evan Chu warned.

The four entered the valley and started searching for a place to hide, but found no cave. “Not good, someone’s coming. I didn’t expect them to catch up so fast—looks like we’re in real trouble,” Evan Chu muttered.

Evan Chu immediately grabbed Roxanne Lin’s hand and activated Earthshift, pulling them into the soil. Now that Roxanne and the others were at the Saint Martial Realm, they could hold their breath for over an hour—underground was the safest hiding place.

Anyone else would never be able to burrow into the earth, but Evan Chu could—he’d mastered Earthshift. Without wasting words, he dragged Ethan Fenn and Ryan Ouyang into the soil as well.

“You three hide here for now. I’ll scout outside—maybe I’ll pick up some useful intel. Whatever you do, don’t act rashly!” Evan Chu said, then vanished from sight.

Ryan Ouyang and the others were long used to Evan Chu’s weirdness. He was a monster—anything bizarre was normal for him, so they just went along with it.

Evan Chu surfaced and hid himself inside a massive boulder. Soon, two elderly men appeared—their aura was fierce, stronger than anyone he’d ever seen in the Azure Tide Ruins.

Judging by their aura, they were at least sixth or seventh-layer Saint Martial Realm. Evan Chu noticed a distinctive red lotus emblem on their chests.

“I could’ve sworn those four were here—how did they just vanish? This is bizarre!” one elder grumbled.

The other elder scanned the area. “For four people to slaughter so many Black Lotus Guard Corps members so quickly, their strength must be extraordinary. I bet they know how to hide—maybe underground. Anyone who’s mastered the earth element can manage that. I once saw an eighth-layer Divine Martial cultivator slip into the earth without leaving a trace.”

Evan Chu was startled by the elder’s words—these two were no ordinary foes. Black Lotus Guard Corps? So the ones he’d killed were Black Lotus, but what did the red lotus emblem mean? Were these men Red Lotus Guard Corps?

As Evan Chu pondered, one elder suddenly slashed the ground with his sword, carving a two-meter-wide chasm. If the chasm had shifted just a meter to the left, it would have hit Roxanne Lin and the others—dangerous beyond words.

Underground, Ryan Ouyang and Ethan Fenn were stunned. They wanted to burst out and kill the two elders above, but couldn’t figure out how to escape the earth. The only way was to break through, but right now they couldn’t move at all, leaving them frustrated.

“I refuse to believe they can just vanish into thin air. Even if I have to dig three feet into the ground, I’ll find them!” the sword-wielding elder declared.

Evan Chu was starting to lose his cool. If these two kept messing around, things would spiral out of control—he’d have to kill them. But facing two experts at least sixth-layer Saint Martial Realm at once was a first for him, and he wasn’t fully confident. As he hesitated, a voice echoed in his mind—the Sword Spirit… (To be continued tonight)
