After Picking Up the Wrong Cup

"So, how did you deal with it?" Lucy Luan asked. "Did you kill it?"

"Nope! We set up a formation and sealed it at a Dragon's Nexus," Harvey Quinn replied.

"You four can set up formations now?" Lucy asked, surprised.

"We can't, but we got help from Sigil Sect disciples," Adrian Drake said.

"You guys found Sigil Sect disciples too? So did we!" Jumin Jing chimed in. "We even got the Young Master of the Sigil Sect, right, cousin?"

Lucy nodded.

"We only hired ordinary Sigil Sect disciples," Adrian said. "Their cultivation isn’t impressive, but they have mystical specialties even the Divine Race can't match! They're amazing!"

"If only I could get a Rune Master as my Divine Attendant!" Jumin Jing sighed.

Ryan Lu snorted, "Plenty of people pay Rune Masters for work! They don’t lack spirit jade, celestial relics, or connections! Why would they be anyone’s servant? What could you offer them? Teach them to draw talismans? Boost their rune-crafting?"

"But Divine Lady Snow’s brother has a Rune Master as his Divine Attendant, right? Why’d he do it?" Jumin insisted.

"That Rune Master only did it to repay a life debt!" Harvey Quinn explained. "Plus, they’re real friends—kindred spirits. Isn’t that right, Snow Yuan?"

Snow Yuan shot Harvey a sideways glance but said nothing.

Harvey grinned and changed the subject: "Anyway, sealing that demonized Ivory Tiger was wild! Ryan even got hit by it! Good thing he’s not just a little immortal, or he’d be dead!"

Lucy turned to her brother, concerned. "Are you okay?"

Ryan waved her off. "I'm fine! At the time it felt like something drilled into me—scared me for a second! But it passed quickly. I can eat, sleep, and I’ve slept great these past few nights! Really, I’m fine!"

"Let me check your pulse just in case!" Lucy reached out.

"I said I’m fine—no need for a pulse check... Huh? Fifth Highness, you picked up the wrong cup!" Ryan suddenly pointed at Sean Shaw.

Everyone looked over—Sean had indeed grabbed Lucy’s cup and was about to drink from it.

Fifth Highness stayed calm, glanced at the cup, then put it back. He said to Lucy, "Sorry, I didn’t notice and picked the wrong one. This is definitely yours—the one with the little red fish."

Lucy checked and found it really was hers.

The little red fish again.

It’s even on his handkerchief.

After that little scene, she suddenly started paying attention to everyone’s cups.

Then she noticed Sean’s cup was decorated with a golden chalice bloom.

He gave her the little red fish, but kept the golden chalice bloom for himself...

Was it just a coincidence?

Or...

He was the one who brewed the tea, after all.

Lucy glanced at Sean.

This time, he picked up his own cup.

But instead of drinking, he turned the cup in his hands, absentmindedly stroking the golden chalice bloom.

Then he brought the cup to his lips and took a gentle sip.

A sheen of tea glistened on his elegant lips—utterly mesmerizing...

Lucy’s heart jolted as if scalded!

Heat and panic surged through her, and the feeling started creeping up her face. Her ears turned visibly red.

She propped her forehead on her hand, trying hard to regain control.

What is wrong with me today?

It’s like I’m having an energy backlash or something.

This is all Ryan’s fault!

It’s just a Flower Egg! Why did he have to make such a fuss?

I really want to hit him.
