Right now, Evan Yang honestly couldn’t tell if Mad Elder was pretending to forget or if he actually had no memory. Sometimes Evan really wanted to press him for answers, but Mad Elder was always so erratic—especially after a few drinks, when he’d start spouting all sorts of nonsense.
“Don’t just stand there. This peak might look ordinary, but for someone like you, there are plenty of hidden perks.” Mad Elder chuckled.
“Mad Elder, what do you mean?” Evan Yang asked, confused.
“You’ll figure it out. I’m off to take a nap.” Mad Elder laughed, then slipped away, leaving Evan Yang alone on the path.
With no choice, Evan Yang kept walking, greeting people along the way—so it was easy to pass through.
On Third Peak, Evan Yang wandered freely, but his mind kept drifting to the places where the higher-ups gathered.
“What are they even talking about?” Evan wondered, but with the current situation, he couldn’t show up there—he’d be kicked out instantly.
That made Evan think back to what Mad Elder said—this peak wasn’t simple. But where exactly was it special? Mad Elder wouldn’t say. As an outsider, all Evan could do was wander around aimlessly.
“Hey, tavern owner, what brings you here?” A wine-lover spotted Evan and grinned.
Evan Yang smiled. “I’m helping out with the wine tomorrow, so I came early to look around. But honestly, I don’t know what’s so special about your peak.”
“You want to check out our peak?” the wine-lover laughed.
“Yeah, just killing time and taking a stroll,” Evan Yang said with a smile.
“That’s easy. Give me a bottle of that ten-thousand top-grade wine, and I’ll show you all the best spots on the peak.” The wine-lover grinned.
Evan Yang secretly laughed—he didn’t expect to run into another wine-lover. “Deal. I’ve got a bottle right here. If you’re my guide, it’s yours.”
“No problem!” The wine-lover got excited when he saw the ten-thousand top-grade wine bottle.
So Evan Yang let the wine-lover play tour guide, wandering around Third Peak. The mountain really did have some unusual spots—hot springs, pools, strange cliffs. Pretty much everything you wouldn’t find on a normal peak showed up here.
“What’s so special about this place?” Evan wondered to himself, still unable to figure out what Mad Elder meant. All he could do was keep thinking it over.
Seeing Evan Yang’s unimpressed expression, the wine-lover laughed. “What’s wrong, tavern owner? Don’t like these spots?”
“They’re honestly pretty ordinary. You can see stuff like this on other peaks too,” Evan Yang replied with a smile.
“That’s not enough to impress you?” the wine-lover protested.
